Churches Texas Chicken on Highland rd. I see why this store is rated low. I went into this location and they forgot three of my items out of my bag. I went back up to the store which it takes about 10 minutes from my house .I explained to the manager items were missing from my bag. The first thing she said was I should have check my bag before left. I let her know it's their responsibility to check it before it goes out the door it yours!! I do understand things happen but when you're not able show empathy. And then she gonna try to say sorry after the fact. At that point you're not sorry that y'all messed up my order. And you taking crazy to me. Instead of making sure the items were hot , she gave me some cold okra!! Will not go back to this location !! read more

We are in town for a church conference and drove into this Church's Fried Chicken for dinner take out to the Hotel. We could of gone to Popeyes fried chicken but chose Churches because its great chicken. The speaker box is broken out in drive way and the sound is crackling so I could not make out what the lady was asking. she asked if I wanted a drink I said said yes she asked what size I said large, she asked what size 3 times i kept saying large so I just thought the speaker was broken so I drove to window. This lady pushed another short haired the lady from window she was not a part of this. The lady whom I think was the manager almost came through the window yelling at the top of her lungs at me saying she knows the speaker is broken!!! Whats the matter with me? I asked her why was she so upset ? Its not my fault the speaker is broken. I told her Jesus loved her and man that set her off like she almost came out of herself. Worst customer experience I believe I have ever experienced. I just drove off, if that is what Churches chicken brand looks like I think I will try another brand! Today was my first time to Church's in a couple years. I was for one, really impressed with the service. I was in and out the drive through in under 5 minutes. Really fast and efficient. However, the food.... I remember it tasting better before. But it wasn't terrible. I feel like the chicken was a little under seasoned. It had hardly no flavor at all. It also wasn't crispy so I assume it was an older batch. The sides I ordered, mashed potatoes and green beans were both delicious though. The honey biscuits were tasty also. The chicken was just lacking something. But still it was a decent lunch for my family for not much money so I'm pleased. I think I will try the chicken tenders next time. read more

I am hesitant to even give a 4 star rating to a fast food joint connected to a gas station/convenience store but in looking at the reviews of this establishment as well as my own personal experiences here I believe it merits 4 stars. My multiple here have not resulted in unpleasant staff, there have not been abnormally lengthy waits, and for the most part the food has met or exceeded expectations ---if this is what happens when I go to a restaurant then I would rate it 4 or more stars so I must do it here. This is a fried chicken place and that's what I order--fried chicken. Sometimes they have other offerings--for example , popcorn shrimp or chicken friend steak but I do not get those. I went @9 o'clock tonight & got a family meal of a 12 piece chicken with Mac and cheese, fries, & poppers. For starters, the customer service wasn't all that because they clearly didn't have fresh chicken and didn't even bother to ask if I'll like them to drop none. Mind you they close at 11. If Churches on Highland Rd. Baton Rouge, La Owner/District Mgr doesn't hire a better staff and store mgr. I really see someone seriously getting hurt. The staff there is absolute rudeness like no other fast food that I have visit. They continue to lie about foods available, charges different prices on select items and pocket the difference . Where's the district mgr? The store Mgr along is sooooo rude until it's unbelievably. How come every chicken joint in the world has slow service? This one no exception. I shouldn't ask such a question because I worked in various chicken joints for seven years of my life, so I know it's all about balancing a fickle product that must be served freshly cooked against an unpredictable flow of customers always wanting their favorite piece of bird immediately. Can you tell my service at this Church's was slow? Stopped in for a snack of a chicken sandwich and was then surprised to learn that it comes with a choice of numerous side items, including Louisiana favorite fried okra. Service was pleasant enough by the young lady at the counter, but the place was dominated by a fussing, loud woman, the manager I suppose, who seemed only to contribute more anxiety to the situation rather than more efficiency. Some time later, a sandwich and the okra--in copious supply--was delivered piping hot. The whole meal, including a decent sized drink, seemed to cost just over $3 after tax, so what in the world can anyone have to complain about this place? The chicken sandwich surely was better than what one typically gets from fast food joints, but not a great deal better. And the okra? Well, it was somewhat tasty but quite overcooked. Better okra is to be had at Baton Rouge's Po-boy Express. Would I go back to Church's for a chicken sandwIch? Surely. Just as I would go back to any fast food by which I might be passing if I need something quick. But just as surely I'd never go out of my way for their food either. read more

Chicken wasn't fully cooked & I received an attitude from the female at the drive thru window when I politely asked her for extra napkins with my meal...she actually threw them to me instead of just handing them to me. Churches Chicken on Airline is most racist restaurant in Baton Rouge! Period! I made a 5 piece order through the drive through and was told it would take 30 minutes to fill as they were out of chicken. I agreed and the guy was puzzled and told me they would be closed by the time it was ready. It was 10:30 and there were people in front and back of me. They were scheduled to close at 11PM and I mentioned didn't have a problem waiting. Anyone on this planet can drop chicken and prepare it way less than 30 minutes. I just left the church's on the highland Rd. Next to the circle K close to blue Bayou. I think the store number is 5141. I stood in line for a while behind two men. When the African American Young lady with braids rung me up. I ask her for the four dollar meal. I requested fries instead of mash potatoes and she said you have to get what comes with the special. I stated I don't have a problem at any other location. She said well we don't do it here. I told her I wanted hot chicken she said eight minutes when the man b4 me requested the same, she said ok without a problem. The guy in the back had at least three baskets frying I already waited at least five minutes. She refused to give me her name, the name on my receipt said Andrew. Her customer service is horrible she even referred to the guy cooking as a lil boy. I don't care if my food was 4 dollar. It's my money and I should be able to get what I pay for.
