White Rock Coffee is one of many places in the coffee scene within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex,…read moreand what makes them taste like hometown are three things: authentic hospitality, variety of different drinks and sauces that they make, and most importantly, the way they gave back to the community. I went to visit their original location on Northwest Hwy. conveniently located right next to the Dallas Police Northwest Division. Fun fact: did you know that they have a roastery next to their original location? How amazing! However, that one is by appointment only, so check with them for more details. Shoutout to the White Rock Coffee staff for welcoming us back with open arms, as well as introducing new drinks to us that were of high demand and interest. One, however, that really did catch my eye, was my all time-favorite: the White Rocker, which included two shots of espresso, whole milk, and their signature White Rock syrup. My friend on the other hand, got the Lone Star Latte -- chai with a hint of that White Rock syrup that they put in there as well! Because of their roastery, all of their coffee beans are sourced from local partners and cooked and roasted right here in the heart of Dallas. I'm just really glad that I was able to really catch up with the times that there are, honestly. I'll definitely be back to visit more whenever I'm in the DFW! Y'all have my support! :)

I went on Tuesday and was a little disappointed. I got a tea and sat downstairs but immediately I was FREEZING. I decided to go upstairs because I thought maybe a vent was blowing directly at me, but no!!! It was seriously so cold everywhere. A girl next to me was rubbing her hands together and blew into them just to keep warm. I mean, really? It was kind of funny how crazy cold it was. I expected to be there at least 3 or 4 hours since I had a lot to do but I left after 30 minutes. I wanted to go outside to sit down at one of their tables but not a table was in sight! I guess they got rid of them? I'll come back... with sweats on and a beanie! Not even trying to be funny I'm being so serious

Amazing coffee spot in a cool Walnut Hill complex…read more I like the vibe here and their coffee is always on point. I've only been during the day and always spend a little time working before a coffee meeting. The WiFi is always good and the coffee is great. The ambiance is very open and inviting as well. They serve small bites as well but I haven't really partaken. Additionally, I think they have several beers on tap and they appear to all be cool local brews. If you're looking for a good local coffee shop with a vibe, this may be your new spot!!

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.

Today I got a build-a-pie. You heard it right. I got a little of everything that added up to a full pie. This place is like grandma's on steroids. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. Always thick, creamy and delicious. Piecrust can't be beat. If you like a traditional pie. She always has the basic staples plus lots of new and exciting flavor combinations.. Follow her on Instagram for daily specials. Wish I lived in town and could visit more often. If you want to have a pie for the holiday, be sure to order ahead. The window typically closes a week or two out. Staff is always friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and ever so helpful. Cherri dispositions abound at this Sweet establishment. You'll probably even meet the owner, TRACY. She's definitely involved and keeps things running smoothly. Everyone knows about this place. If you haven't been be sure to stop by. You can take a pie to go or eat inside at one of the mini cute tables.
