    The Crazy Pig

Having at this point sampled most of the food trucks on the increasingly impressive Dallas circuit,…read moreI'm excited at this summer's lineup of new kids on the block. The Crazy Pig is first up to the plate, and it didn't disappoint. While there's no real concrete theme to it (I was expecting pork), The Crazy Pig might well be one of the few trucks that can be a jack of all trades. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? The Crazy Pig is a new truck, so the staff is well on their A game, but it's worth commending nonetheless. The server was quick to explain the concept and the freshness of the menu, and I jumped at the opportunity when he mentioned that today's special was a Lobster roll. Overall a good experience as far as service is concerned. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Now, the one downside to ordering the special Lobster Roll is that I really didn't get a full understanding of the price to portion ratio. Lobster is expensive without a doubt, so I didn't even bat an eyelash when it came to $12.00. Have a look: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BJfpnc0Ow1hDRyoP0aGORA&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg Now, while that's pricey, and the portion was a bit small, the rest of the prices on the menu were reasonable, ranging from $8 to $8 roughly. Those are fair prices, but keep in mind you'll pay a premium for the specials. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Yum. Now, I'll start off by saying that I'm not a die-hard Lobster roll fan, but this was excellent. First and foremost, the bread was out of this world. While I'd recommend they use a slightly bigger piece since there was literally lobster spilling out of the top, it was toasted and buttered to absolute perfection. The lobster? Excellent. The sauce was in a quantity that didn't mask the lobster flavor while still complimenting the roll as a whole. Bravo. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Here's the tough part. While I enjoyed the special, I still don't have a feel for the 'standard' menu, so I can't quite throw this star out. I'll no doubt be back, and depending on how the burger goes, this could be bumped to the coveted five spot or reduced to the class three. No Star Granted.
