After I heard about this Hot Chicken place I had to come try it. It's definitely not what I thought it would be. The tenders are dry and the breeding is just not what I expected compared to other hot chicken places.. I ordered the Nashville Hot flavor with Mac and cheese and tater tots. My sister ordered the salad and it was just your average salad with chicken. Nothing too special! The Mac was not bad but I think it can be better. You can't go wrong with the tater tots. There is actually no service there as you can just go ahead and grab a table and place your order on the QR code and they just bring you the food to your table. The place itself has a great ambience with a great outdoor for families.
For awareness, I doordashed this. I was super excited to try their Mac n cheese based off the pictures from reviews and their website but it did not live up to my expectations. It tasted just like kfc mac n cheese. Not that anything is wrong with kfc mac n cheese this just wasn't what I was expecting and expected better. The Caesar wrap was just okay. I did appreciate the amount of chicken but I barely tasted any Caesar. I felt like I was just eating a chicken wrap.

This was interesting researching the person on the wall who is their patron saint of Nashville hot chicken Tennessee tastemaker James Thornton Prince was living proof. A legendary local lothario in early 20th-century Nashville, Prince possessed an appetite for fried chicken and the ladies. His passions have made him a legend in American culinary circles. Prince is the king of Nashville hot chicken.
They have a nice patio and inside seating. When we walked in there was no line and the customer service was very friendly. I came for the fried shrimp and thought it was nice and crispy, but probably not worth the $19.
The absolute best Nashville hot chicken place in Dallas. Chicken is incredible. Sides are great. Highly recommend tots over the fries in my opinion. Their chicken sandwich and catfish are also very good. Staff is amazing. Some of the nicest people you'll meet. Daily specials are some of the best in the city. Highly recommend.
Ate at this place tonight for the first time ordered the big white, it was not white. It was gray and dark and I'm sorry that I ate any of it! I am praying that I do not wake up with food poisoning like I just realized another review written yesterday did:( They are supposed to credit me for the meal, but just a waste of time and money and just gross!
HOLY BIG PORTIONS!! When they say Jumbo chicken tenders they aren't kidding. I would say the chicken tender meal probably could easily feed two adults. We ordered way too much food. The Nashville spice level is good here, unlike some Nashville hot is so spicy it's almost intolerable. They also have some good daily specials. Come check this place out!
TikTok did it again. There's an influencer by the name of Olivia Culver who was singing high praises about the Chicken Caesar salad wrap (and from the video it did look delicious) so I stopped by yesterday to try them. When you get into the parking lot you'll notice Palmer's is surrounded by a lot of new, trendy retail shops and food spots. It's really close to a grocery store & is only minutes from NorthPark, Greenville Ave etc so you could really make it an all day affair. What's cool is Palmer's has plenty of options for seating, catering to those who love a view and want to sit outside but also has plenty of room inside for those who prefer a more intimate feel. The decorations are modern but eye catching (and picture worthy lol) without being overstimulating. When it comes to the food.....deep sigh. I ordered the fried chicken caesar salad wrap w/regular fries. I would've ordered the cheese fries Olivia had in her video but because I ordered to go I opted out. Since I've never been to a hot chicken spot I also wanted to try and got their infamous Nashville hot chicken. In total I spent $22. When the order came out and I opened the boxes everything looked mouth watering good. However, I will say the wrap was over stuffed with lettuce & had the smallest amount of caesar dressing so overall was underwhelming and dry. Whenever you make a wrap of any sort you need something to serve as a binder (cheese, sauce etc) to keep it from falling apart, but as you'll see in my pics and videos there was none of that so it turned into a salad after two bites. It's just wild because not even two weeks ago I had a grilled chicken caesar wrap from AMC Mesquite, and was surprised at how good that was for theatre food, so imagine my surprise when I thought I was going to get something 10x better and it fell flat. Anyway I tried to let it go because I had also ordered the Nashville hot chicken & surely Palmer's would redeem themselves through their signature item, but I'm more than certain they were using old grease as that's all I could taste when I bit into it. I still tried to eat it as I don't like wasting food or money, but it just wasn't agreeing with me. The hard lesson I learned is sometimes what looks good can still be misleading & no two people have the same palate, but experiences like these are part of the process of trying new places to find the next best bite. Best of luck on your visit!
Beautiful inside and cute concept with the inside/outside play area. I've tried Ricky's Hot chicken, Dave's Hot chicken, Hattie Bs, Luckys, etc. this was not it. Not sure where any of the flavor was but it was not at Palmers. How this place has a 4.3 rating is beyond me. Truthfully the only way I was able to eat the chicken tenders was bc of the ranch. Not even the special "fancy" sauce they make is good. Down to the banana pudding being tart. Would have loved for this place to be 5 stars but I cannot lie like others have. We ordered: Jumbo Tenders - Novice "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Mac and cheese & Tots for sides. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever didn't taste like anything was on this tender. Motherclucker - Napalm "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Mac and cheese for side. The heat was extremely intense for no reason was not worth the time it took to drive 5 mins to get there. Shrimp Popboy - Nashville "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Grilled corn. I don't how you can go wrong with corn but it was not anything special. Big Daddy's Nanner Puddin'. Very disappointing tasted tart with every bite and not worth the cost for the tiniest scoop that they give you.
Not going to mince words here. This chicken is fantastic. I'd go back every day of the week if it was healthier and I lived close. Unfortunately, it's not the healthiest meal and I don't live close. When you enter, you wait in a line to order at the counter, and then take a number and sit down where they bring you your food. Tenders, wings, doesn't matter. It's worth your time. It's worth your commute. It's worth the calories. Go now, before you change your mind.
Overall thoughts: beautiful ambiance and delicious food The interior is very trendy and warm. The enclosed patio had 2 TVs playing sports (Dallas Cowboys game playing), and plenty of seating. There was a celebration going on there when we visited. Play area for the kids/adults (jumbo jenga, cornhole, jumbo connect 4) The food was amazing! The service is counter order, and an employee will bring the food to you when it is ready. I ordered the Sunday special, which was fried chicken, 2 sides, and a drink. I ordered the "novice" spice level, with dark meat. My 2 sides were tots and Mac and cheese. The "novice" spice was not spicy, but had a good kick and flavor to it. Chicken was breaded and fried to perfection. This place is a gem!
The restaurant is very trendy. There is a large indoor dining area with a full bar (2 TVs playing sports) and counter service order. The entrance has an enclosed patio. The patio had 2 TVs playing sports, and plenty of seating for those who would like to sit in the area with the patio windows open. I had the catfish which was bland . You could tell the flour didn't have any seasoning in it and fish wasn't seasoned either. Do yourself a favor and try the collard greens! The greens were very good. The portion is more than enough.. I will be back to try the hot chicken.
Palmer's is always a great place to come to anytime but on a Friday night, they weren't extremely packed and we were able to order and find seating right away. Their chicken is always fresh and delicious and served piping hot and I'm not just talking about the spice. I got the three piece jumbo chicken tender combo, Nashville spice level and for my sides I got the collard greens and pimento cheese grits. The first thing I dug into were those grits and they are so creamy and good, that pimento cheese gives them such a wonderful sharp cheddar cheese flavor and they are perfectly salted. The chicken tenders are huge, freshly made and super juicy, the Nashville spice level is perfect because you get some really good heat but not to the point to where it burns your stomach. I got my tender so plenty of ranch to cool down the heat and the ranch dressing is also really delicious as well. The collard greens were pretty good, they are a little bit sweeter than I care for them to be but it was not a deal-breaker, they are still good overall and not so sweet to where they were inedible. Overall, I highly recommend Palmer's hot chicken for a casual night out or anytime really!
First time here and it didn't disappoint. I ordered catfish with Brussels sprouts and corn on a cob. We also rested chicken wrap and chicken tenders and tater tots. The tater tots were so good--crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can order food at your table or through the register. Ambience was a bit loud but it's expected during a busy lunch time. We would try it again. I guess Guy Fiery featured this at one of his shows. read more

Food was awesome! Got the Mother Clucker Monday special. $10 for a sandwich, side & drink! I got the Novice spice & it was too spicy for me. I'll know for next time. I loved the pimento cheese & pickles on it. I also ordered a side of shrimp. The corn was sweet and yummy too. My husband ordered the 2 piece dark with beans & Mac. It looked cooked perfectly & crispy. All the staff were helpful & friendly. The cashier was helpful with recommendations & offered to turn the fans on the patio. The covered patio was nice the day we went. It's turfed with 6 picnic tables & bar seating on the wall. They also have cornhole, connect 4 & jenga. read more

Absolutely loved their selection! The dark meat entree is HUGE. For some reason, I didn't think one would be enough but it's ginormous. Anyway, onto the positives! The batter is on the thicker side with a nice crunch. I personally felt like if I kept eating it, the fat would actually clog my blood vessels. So, unfortunately, I couldn't pig out all the way. However, the chicken itself is incredibly juicy and the best part imo. Nice n steamy goodness. Tots are just tots. They were great but ain't nothing particularly special abt them. I also really enjoyed the Mac n cheese! I felt like the taste was great but I'd prefer a thicker texture of the cheese. My bf got the chicken caesar wrap and said he really enjoyed how light and fresh it was. They didn't skimp out on the chicken at all. Ranch and fancy sauce complimented the wrap well. It was the perfect serving amount. All in all, we would highly recommend this place! The service was quick, easy, and simple. If you needed anything else, you could just walk up to the front and grab whatever you needed (to-go box, utensils, cups, etc). The vibe of the restaurant is very outdoorsy, family-friendly, and cozy. read more

The hot chicken is very delicious. There are different hotness levels so you can go hotter if you desire. The tater tots were actually my favorite part of the meal set. They're crunchy and very flavorful without the use of condiments. Also you get a lot of tater tots that it will fill you up. Between two people, we should have ordered one meal set and shared it because I could not finish it. Onto the sides, I wish I had chosen the mac and cheese. The coleslaw was just okay but I got tired of eating it after a while. read more

Great location, service was friendly and helpful. Ordered the chicken caesar wrap and I would've liked more spice on my chicken or at least just more seasoning on my chicken to help with the flavor but the quality of the wrap itself was good. read more

I love hot chicken. It's a wonderful discovery! In a place where hot chicken places are everywhere, I'm glad I found Palmer's. This is one of the best hot chicken places I've ever been to . The chicken isn't super spicy and is enjoyable. There's plenty of food that you'll leave feeling stuffed. The beans actually tasted like maple! There was a lot of room and seating for many people, from the indoor dining room to this semi inside outside thing that is covered too but is outside like. Service was pretty good. No complaints read more

Really upset by how dry my chicken was on the sandwich. The baked beans and banana pudding were an 8/10 so I would get those again, but I'd have to find a different chicken option because the chicken on my mother clucker was dry AF. I got it on Grubhub though Yelp so the service and Ambiance were not something I could really measure. read more

I ordered on uber eats it's a snow day but my order came fairly quick other than the guy dropping it off at the wrong place I got my order.... Now let me tell you about this chicken it was juicy. I got the Nashville for my spice level and i didn't feel a kick till I reheated the chicken. Nevertheless the chicken was so good like omg. The side of catfish is whole other meal within it self I was expecting a fish fillet but it was like little nuggets was still very flavorful and yummy. They did mess my order up I wanted a side of the collards but got two sides of Mac was kinda sad about it but was still a pretty solid place would def check out again in person. read more
Service was fast. Vibes were good, the enclosed patio had games. It'd be a great spot for a friend get together or to watch a game! I got the novice flavor, it wasn't for me personally. This is our second time eating at Palmer's and it tasted just as good as the first time. I ordered the Big White w/ novice seasoning. Had just the right amount of heat for my palette. With that came with two sides so I ordered the French fries and Mac and cheese. To drink I had the Froze' which was during happy hour so it only cost $5.00. Our food came out smoking hot. Chicken must have came right out of the grease because when I dug into it with my fork, nothing but steaming goodness came out. The food was on point and so was the icy Froze'. It was full of flavor and the perfect kind off drink to complement the beautiful warm day outside. If you are looking for one of the best places in Dallas to have your fried or even baked chicken fix, this is definitely it. Not to mention the wonderful customer service. The guys at the register were thorough, kind and very welcoming. I will definitely be back! read more

Came here for a late lunch on Saturday due to 4.5 star Yelp rating. We should have walked away when the lady taking our order wasn't too friendly, it's a forecast of what our food will taste like. My daughter and I got the motherclucker sandwich. When I took my first bite, a big orange blob fell out of my sandwich. Looks like it was cheese, offputting cold cheese. It was too thick and creamy and threw off the whole sandwich. Maybe it would have been better if they took the time to melt the cheese? We had to scrape out the orange blob and we were still struggling to finish the sandwich. A nice juicy chicken would have saved the sandwich but the chicken itself was dry. My daughter could only eat half her sandwich. Something acidic like a slaw would have been a much better choice to balance out the sandwich. The fries and tots were good though, but that's not what we went there for. read more

Been eyeing this place and finally got to try it out and it was a great experience for my first time. I opted for there Nashville hot I'm always eager to try a good spice to see what it's about and it was really tasty and the spice snuck up on ya after a while and still stayed bare-able! My daughter got the novice and so glad she did the spice was more in the breading I believe and she enjoyed it. Y'all try them maple baked beans they are really delicious and so was the Mac and cheese. read more

Decided to check out a new place for fish this past Sunday, so I stumbled upon Palmer's. They offer Nashville hot chicken, fish, and shrimp. I was excited to check out a place that offers hot fish! I ordered fish with the second lowest heat (novice) along with pimento cheese fries and mac and cheese--and after waiting just a few minutes, our food came to us at our table. The fish was delicious as were the pimento cheese fries, but the mac and cheese was the real surprise! It's some of the best I've ever had, possibly the best!!! Another surprise was how good the waffle was! It's very soft and not dry whatsoever! What I will say is that I wish I got a hotter heat with the fish. Being from New Orleans, I should have known better to get the second hottest heat (which I ended up doing after we ate this a second time, and it was so much better). The place is clean inside, and service was great! This definitely has a lively feel to it, and it probably thrives on a Friday/Saturday night despite not many people being there. Overall, Palmer's gives me what other places don't--hot fish (and shrimp if I want it). I will certainly be back to have more delicious food from here! read more

It's amazing... the staff is always helpful, attentive, and kind. I always get the 3 jumbo tender meal with level 3 (Nashville) spice and it comes with two sides. I get double fries and share the meal with my boyfriend. We spend $22 on two drinks basically two meals and a waffle. Not a huge fan of the Mac and cheese. Just kinda meh compared to the chicken and fries. My favorite place for a quick bite. Def check it out. Went in today. They are having a event today and the wife of Palmer came over to my boyfriend and I and gave us fun stickers with their logo and "feed me chicken and tell me I'm pretty" also a %20 off an entree coupon. The time before too Palmer himself came to our table to say hello. Honestly love this place. Good weekly specials, full bar, happy hour, and games with an indoor/outdoor patio. Upon entering it felt like a typical chicken joint to me; with a covered patio and indoor seating available and bar. I ordered the Big Dark in Nashville and the Napalm (Nashville and Carolina reaper) with Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts. The waiter always sends out the disclaimer: no refunds when customers order. Folks will try to return it because they've 'chicken'd out' . Hehehe! Not me and my man though! I can't believe it but I actually enjoyed it all the while guzzling water like I've never drank it in my life. Both spice levels were seasoned to perfection and so crunchy and flavorful! I enjoyed both. The Mac and cheese, I could have done without but the b.sprouts were deelish. I had leftovers and enjoyed them later on in the day. If you want some real Nashville style chicken, I'd definitely check this restaurant out! Enjoy their full service bar too while you're there! read more

Their chicken is hot here! I like my chicken with a good amount of kick but I would recommending being conservative with your spice level if this ish our first time here. I got the sandwich and the tender. If you're going to be adventurous get the sando a little spicier because the slaw, bun, and pickle will help with the heat level. If you get the tender hot you're going to have nothing protecting you. The chicken here is amazing. Well seasoned with that Nashville style sweet note, crisp but not overly bready or greasy and tender on the inside. This is a real chicken shop as it offers chicken all sorts of ways. Some places only offer tenders but not here! You can even get a whole bird. What's even better id they offer tots. Which is my favorite way to eat potatoes. Come here for a great hot chicken meal anyway you like it! read more
