The nail technician was gentle and did a great job on my ugly feet lol. Everything was going well until customers started trickling in. I can tell that this was not the norm for them on a weekday. The staff started rushing. While still working on my pedicure, the owner approached my nail tech and asked her to hurry and fix another customer's nails because she knows how to do powder nails. They spoke in Vietnamese (and I understood everything being said...) Then I was pawned off to another nail tech to do my manicure. I did not like that. I asked for round/oval nails and got square shaped nails. She also filed them way too short. The gel polish was thick and clumpy. She rushed on my nails and didn't even do a cleanup around the edges. I was told my nails are done and when I got to the car, the polish started smudging! I can tell it was going to bother me, so I went back inside for a fix. It was a 3rd nail tech I got now. She was sort of rude and filed down the smudged area to apply another clumpy layer on top. All in all, I was very dissatisfied with the service and how my nails came out. My toes looked great and that's where the generous 2 stars came from. Never again.

I despise how expensive everything is nowadays, especially maintenance related.

I've been coming here for several years off and on and usually leave happy, but as if the infection wasn't bad enough.... The customer service has really gone downhill. It appears a bit messy up at the front & crowded at the desk with girls just hanging out. Their technicians (never the same) seem unsure& timid, and there is usually a lack of communication between the front desk and the technician that I have to clarify repeatedly, even though the only thing I ever get is a simple, classic mani no polish, buff and go; and maybe a basic gel pedicure. The prices also went up by at least $10 a service overnight, once the name switched. Previously, I had a $100 gift card from NOA that they would not honor. Why not? I understand ownership changed, but to not honor past gift cards for longer doesn't bode well for established clients. Another time, back in May , I was told the wait would be over 45 minutes for a mani, even though that area appeared completely empty. Ok - so I walked back out and across the street to Blush Salon and got a lovely manicure right away. I don't expect I'll be returning to Genova any time soon.

I don't have a specific favorite technician because each time I'm here, everyone does a great job. There's mellow instrumental music playing to help you feel relaxed. The pedi chairs have all the massage functions to help loosen up that tight back and shoulders. They also offer you something to drink during your service. There's alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. I've been here 3x and no complaints. The convenience factor is it's also right next to the H-E-B grocery store, and many other retailers/restaurants.

While there was some light conversation in the salon, I appreciated that everyone kept their voices down and was respectful of the shared space. In a setting like this, I find the demeanor of both the staff and the customers equally important. My technician spoke limited English, but that wasn't an issue since the receptionist kindly helped translate when needed. The entire experience was efficient; I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I found this place, briefly checked them out and stopped by. I needed a gel pedicure. A young lady serviced me, did not get the name. I was not offered what types of pedicures were available, my feet weren't even in the water for 5 mins, she cut my toenails dry, filed them after they were cured, and handled my feet very roughly. I waited until I paid to voice my concerns and as I was speaking she literally turns away and starts speaking to the only other employee.
