BIRRIA TACOS (marinated brisket) w/ consume soup to dip: Wonderful! My fav thing so far. Full of flavor & lots of meat! Our group argued if Chuki's is better than the other place in town (so that means they are in good company!) If only Chuki's had a Birria pizza! I guess I'll have to stick with these tacos. Other items I tried are quite GOOD, too ... but NOT so super-spectacular to write home about. Nachos platter is huge. Burritos & Tortas are filling. Sopes are messy. Street tacos are tiny, but flavorful. Next time: I must try the fish. CHIPS! Could these be the BEST CHIPS in town? I am simply amazed at how good & thick & crunchy they are -and yet NOT GREASY! One Complaint: The chips are NOT FREE ... yet, I understand that restaurants have cost & these are so good ... you should get them! SALSA BAR: My next favorite thing here! Drivin thru Memphis and bbq wasn't calling our names..heard Memphis has a great Mexican food scene and wow we are glad we stopped here! The best thing we ate was probably the birria tacos-they just had so much flavor-squirt a lil lime on there!! Burrito was great and the enchiladas were a close 2nd best to the tacos-gonna have dinner for tomorrow as well! Ha! If you can handle copious amounts of meat and cheese give this place a try! I was in the area and wanted to find a taco spot. Located this restaurant hidden behind the Piccadilly. I called in my order and the young lady was nice and walked me through a few menu items. My food was ready within 10 minutes. Very nice and open space. I especially like their sauce bar. Everything was fresh and watch out for some of the sauces they are extremely spicy. Our new favorite taco place in Memphis. Clean, spacious, excellent service w an eye for making sure you're well taken care of. Now for the food: We had several of the street tacos- well priced. Great flavor. The pastor was my favorite. The carne asada and chorizo were also very good. Someone else has the Birra Taco, which was recommended the staff: the meat was well flavored and yummy; the consommé was deliciously flavored with tomatoes and cilantro. The torta especial was huge and filling. They have a great salsa bar with about 14 items. I really liked the options- there were some pickled onions and spicy peppers that were new to me but a great topping for the chips. You have to order your own chips and salsa to have some chips to try w the salsa bar. They have a cooler full of drinks and few choice beers. Overall our new favorite taco joint. This is my new favorite taco spot! When you walk in it is very clean and the decor is so vibrant. They have photos of cowboys, traditional Mexican women, and this cool model car collection on the wall. The service was very attentive and prompt. They have a salsa bar which is pretty cool, there are about 10 different salsas, radishes, and pickled veggies. I ordered the asada and pollo tacos! My first time eating at this restaurant, it definitely won't be my last. The food is delicious!! The guacamole was made fresh to order. It had the perfect amount of salt and lime. I had the Birra taco and consome, 10/10 My son had chimichangas steak and chicken he said it was a 10/10. I tasted the meat in each, they were well seasoned. All the food came out hot!! The salsa station had the best creamy chipotle sauce!!! A small family business, with big flavor. They were a little short staffed, the manager told us this before we ordered. A new taco spot that definitely lives up to the hype. We had chicharrones, birria tacos, and shrimp tacos. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. The consommé was worth it alone. They have a great self-serve sauce bar with enough variety to keep you coming back for more. The rice and beans are also solid. The horchatas are also great. Try the hibiscus or original flavor and you can't miss out on Mexican coke. The service was great and they should have their beer license soon. The place is also very affordable with great ambiance. Fabulous addition to East Memphis! Their street tacos were delicious. We ordered an asada, carnitas and a chicken street taco- all wonderful! We also shared the flautinas which were excellent as well. We ordered the food to go and were able to take 4 of the salsas from the salsa bar with us. All were fabulous! I wish they were labeled so we knew what they were for the next time we go there, but they were all spicy and really tasty. The staff is so kind and I love the artwork inside the restaurant!
