Shredded beef chimichanga with rice and beans.

Service was great. It's a small place. We seated ourselves after the staff acknowledged us. We had salsa and chips quickly. Cheese dip was good. Guacamole is smooth which I like. I don't want a crunchy onion or tomato pieces in mine. And the shredded beef chimichangas were tasty. Overall great experience. Will definitely stop again on our travels to and from Memphis.

I was in town on a business trip. We stopped here for a late lunch on a Tuesday, around 3pm. We were the only patrons at that time and I believe they recently just reopened their dining room due to COVID-19. They appeared to be taking all the proper precautions for cleaning, wearing masks, etc which was good to see. We were greeted promptly and received super friendly service throughout our meal. We sat inside the small dining room, but they had some sidewalk seating out front, too. Their chips and salsa were delicious! Hot chips and fantastic salsa with the right amount of heat. I ordered the carnitas plate, which came with rice and beans. The carnitas weren't as flavorful as I would have liked and there was a LOT of fat to pick out. My coworkers tried a chicken quesadilla and fajita nachos. They were both really happy with their meals. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd happily go there again when in town to try some other dishes.

Best restaurant in town. Quality of ingredients and cooking skills is far above any other Mexican restaurant.

We tried this location for the first time last night (1/5/21) and it was great! Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Oakland.

The tacos were delicious but the name is misleading. My husband thought it would come drizzled in some kind of spicy sauce given the name, but it was just chicken, cheese and onions. It was still really tasty though. I had the rice and while it was well seasoned, it lacked something else. I think a creamy sauce would knock this dish out of the world. If I ever order it again, I'll be sure to request a cream based sauce, or order a side of sour cream. The service was fast but we also came during a time where they didn't have crowd. If you're dining in, your order will come with a bottle of salsa verde and a bottle of spicy red salsa. Also, the music was great at the time we went, they were playing bachata and it took everything in me not to get up and dance. I'd recommend this place and plan to return. Oakland needs more variety like this little gem.

Overall, I did enjoy the flavors across the board. The thin and crispy chips along side of the tasty salsa were great. I tried the chile relleno and enchilada combo and ordered a side taco. The relleno and enchilada were tasty. I did ask for a cheese enchilada, which came out with beef in it, and I did ask for a shredded beef taco which came out with ground beef instead. Not perfect, and I didn't say anything. Shortly into our meal our waitress came over and handed me a shredded beef taco. I really appreciated the fact that she caught that mistake and corrected it perfectly. I also ordered a shot of tequila with an ice cube, and it came out in a full glass of ice, lol. Not perfect, but I still took it down. Overall, I enjoyed my trip here and would stop in again. Side note, if they would make their own hard shells like they do here in the southwest, the shredded beef taco would have been top notch! I'm just not used to the pre-made shells.

Food is authenic'ish for the area. You won't find nopales on the menu sadly. Ordered some guac, and cheese dip to start, never received the elote sadly and I was really looking forward to that. Ordered mains, and I requested a quesadilla with shrimp and steak. I realised later that I was so hungry I totally didn't realise what I was served was not a quesadilla at all but more like a large taco. I ate it but was a lil disappointed. The filing was cooked well and seasoned pretty good. Getting ready to leave I asked for a to-go cup for my lemonade. However, it wasn't until after I got in my car I realised the cup was leaking due to a puncture in the styrofoam cup. Would I go back despite all the mishaps? Yes, I would. Prices are a lil high for the area but decent menu selection to choose from.

My husband had Chicken Nopalito... chicken breast w/ cheese sauce, vegetables, rice and beans. It came sizzling and hot! He said it was incredible. I had steak fajitas, rice and beans with side salad. Again-outstanding. Mexican food in Georgia is not the same range of subtle flavors as we found in TX and now N Mississippi. Service was the best, very attentive without being intrusive. Even our water seemed special. If we are ever back in this area, we look forward to eating here again.
