There are…read moremany other options and I always think of trying them but that Travolta sings to me and it's the one that goes home with me. They have some delicious desserts and I vaguely remember them from the few times I tried them, but I try to eat both halves of the sandwich and that's it, can't eat another bite. The service is always great, the people are well trained and are pleasant to deal with. Ambiance, what ambiance? It's a great place to go get your sandwich and we take it home to eat and watch TV. The one time we ate there, it took away from the glorious experience of eating that mouth watering goodness. There were other distracting people around us and keeping me from concentrating on my sandwich!

I wanted to dine in but decided to get my food to go out of respect of their 8 pm closing hour. I didn't look at what I ordered last time, so I asked for a recommendation. He suggested The Stallone and The Lucky. I ordered, then checked my previous order on Yelp while I waited. Same thing. OMG. I wanted to try something new too. Oh well. Then, while waiting, I had a thought: Wouldn't it be weird if they gave me the wrong order again, just like last time? Well... guess what. Almost. But flipped. They gave my order to another guy. ‍ When he told them, I watched them frantically take my food out of his bag and put it into mine. It was almost closing time, and the guy didn't look like he had any communicable diseases, so I guess there's that plus. But seriously, what are the odds? There were like five guys working back there packing orders it looked like. How does this keep happening? And one of the kids bagging the takeout orders had dark sunglasses on. At 8 PM. Dude, unless it's some medical condition, take the sunglasses off or get the order right. When I got home, the meatball sandwich was, of course, cold--which I expected since I live about 20 minutes away. I'd strongly recommend eating it there while it's hot because it's not nearly as good cold. Kinda mid The Stallone I ordered not warmed up. So it was okay. So, yeah, unfortunately, my second visit came with another wrong-order adventure. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if getting someone else's food is just part of the experience here.

Just about the most satisfying Italian Sandwich dive that you could find in the state of Texas and…read moreit's right off Lake Conroe of all places. Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

My only disappointment was that the menu described it as coming on a crusty Italian roll, but the bread was soft with no crunch. A true crusty roll would have taken it from great to outstanding. The girl at the counter recommended getting the hot peppers so I got some on the side, and she was absolutely right--I'll definitely be adding those to future sandwiches. My husband ordered the Danza but accidentally received the Dinero. He still enjoyed it and gave it a solid 7/10. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor, though it was a little too bread-heavy for my taste. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than generous. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

We were ultimately shown to a table directly in front of the kitchen. As we sat there, I gradually began to notice some troubling things. Another Asian group was seated at a table next to one of the kitchen entrances. Later, when they finished their meal and left, another Asian family was seated at the same table. In addition, a Black family was seated next to another kitchen exit. A woman in that group asked to be moved to a different table. The food itself was very good, and the server who took care of us was pleasant and kind. My concern was specifically with the way the host assigned tables. Seeing this seating pattern repeated even though other tables were available made me strongly feel that race was influencing the seating decisions. I found the experience very upsetting. Of course, it is up to the restaurant to decide how it will assign tables in the future. I would be glad if this experience prompted the restaurant to recognize the issue and make changes. On the other hand, if nothing changes, I will consider this to be part of the restaurant's character. I am leaving this review to share what I personally saw and experienced.

It been a Houston institution since 1999. Walking into K&G's can be quite overwhelming on the first visit. There's just so much to see, be it Autographs, Caricatures, Playbill's or their delicious cakes, treats, breads, and Pickles. However, the real overwhelming experience is the menu. Anything you could possibly want is listed on the menu. I recommend looking t it online before coming, just so you can have an idea of what you might want to eat. My dad(96) and I are frequent visitors and we always seem to get the open faced roast beef, which is stacked high and there is always left overs for eating at home the next day. The pickles are a fan favorite for me, and I tend to devour several of them. This visit I decided to try the fried fish sandwich (made with halibut) with onion rings and french fries and my friend, a Houston native who had never been here, went for the Schleppy Joe with onion rings. These sandwiches were stunning and wonderful. I saved half for to go so I could have their classic New York Cheesecake... the best in the city. The entire dining experience was top notch, exactly the experience I always have. Ziggy knows how to make the customers dining experience an "experience", I have never had a bad one, from the service down to the cleanliness of the entire place. In this review I want to give a special shout out to Beverly, our server, as she was amazing and whom I recommend. She practically read our minds and was an absolute star. Thank you, Beverly, for the fine service that was speedy with a smile!

Once we walked in, though, we were pleasantly surprised. The place was clean, and you can see the kitchen from the dining area, which was nice. There are two self-order kiosks, but if you don't want to use them, you can also order with the cashier. There are a few tables for dining in, and everything felt well kept. The service was quick, and the manager was very friendly and welcoming. I gave this location 3 stars because, while everything was good overall, nothing really stood out to make it an exceptional experience. Still, the friendly service and clean restaurant made for a pleasant visit.

I had read that this place was "smaller than other locations" like "1/4 the size of a Jason's Deli"…read morebut we didn't realize it would be THIS SMALL. Like, it's got 5 tables??? After googling this location, it was listed as a Jason's Deli-Express. (Well, maybe that should be listed on the front of the store). I always get Jason's Deli salad bar well... that's not here. And the kids love the free ice cream... I don't think that's here either. We didn't see it. If you go to Jason's for sandwiches, this place would definitely be ok. Baked potato, yes. Ordering an already made salad, yup. So unfortunately, we left and went to a "normal" Jason's Deli where I could have my beloved salad bar and the kids could gorge themselves on ice cream.
