I really wanted to like this place, but Bagel Express in Sugar Land was a huge disappointment. First red flag, there were flies buzzing around inside the "freshly baked" goods display. Not exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to grab a bagel. When I did order, the bagel itself didn't taste fresh at all, more like something that had been sitting out than actually baked that morning (we went at 10am). Somehow more expensive than a bagel sandwich in NYC. For $13, I got a breakfast bagel where the slice of cheese was literally thicker than the egg. Hard to take that seriously. Between the flies, stale taste, and overpriced food, we won't be coming back.
Small shop feel which I LOVE. Reminds me of my home town bagel shops which is in NJ. Bagel was slightly on the drier end. Proportions of cream cheese veggies were perfect. I got the everything bagel lightly toasted w light butter, scallion cream cheese, cucumber and onions. Coffee was too strong. Wouldn't mind coming again cause it's closer to our home.

We sat for at least 30-40 mins waiting. When I asked someone to check on my order it came out 5 mins later. Arriving home I realized the food wasn't right. The Mexican presentation was great, it didn't have any bacon tho. For +$4 I definitely wanted my bacon. The Brooklyn boy...trash. There was no onions or feta cheese at all. Pastrami was only on half of my sandwich. Literally. I called and expressed my issue. I was told I could return for a refund, in which I did. I was satisfied until I got home and actually counted the money. I was only refunded the $4 for the bacon. I even showed pics of the badly made Brooklyn boy. I'm pretty upset bc I wouldn't have wasted my time to drive back up there for $4. I spent $40 on probably the most terrible dining experience I've had in a very long time. Needless to say I'm never going back there.
Always good service. Good options for breakfast. I love the Jersey Boy. It's a little pricey but worth it.
I've been yearning for Whitefish salad. Growing up in Toronto, every Sunday my Dad picked up bagel and smoked fish. Leaving in Houston, there were a couple of delis and I always ordered a combo of Egg salad, Smoked salmon (lox) and Whitefish salad. I was thrilled to find Bagel Express when we moved to Sugar Land/Missouri City. Today, I was carving for their Whitefish Salad and picked it up. They were just closing and washing the floor. The interior was immaculate and clean. Friendly staff and service. They have an excellent variety on their menu.
Just came in and grabbed 3 bagels for a brunch. When the lady rung me up I was like are you sure that's the right total. She said yes. These are bagels not burgers...... please don't wast your money here. There are better values out there. Very expensive for no reason. Avg. bagels. My mother in law was a regular customer and she said their prices have gone through the roof and she can't justify the cost. Passssssas!!!!
I was craving Whitefish Salad and decided to check Bagel Express's website and to my surprise they have Whitefish Salad on their website. I called to check if it was available and they did. They said they close at 2:00 p.m. I jumped in my car and had 8 minutes to get there, arrived just in time. I was thrilled to enjoy the Whitefish salad when I got home. I was excited to check this place out. As my cousins raved about it, particularly the french toast. It was nice to see the variety of bagels they had and excellent choice of sandwiches. I just did not know what I wanted, but stuck with the original of the french toast, otherwise I would have regretted it. Of the 4 of us, 3 had french toast and 1 had a bagel. There were no complaints on the taste. They were very good. The disappointment was that the pics all reflect strawberries over the toast and just made it look that much better. Mind you the Menu description on the website does not say anything about a fruit, but shows the toast with strawberries. Upon arrival, the breakfast came in styrofoam with plastic ware. No butter was provided, so we had to ask. Then when we asked about the strawberries, we were told they had run out. We then asked about any other fruit availability - none. So I asked, ok, then what about a discount - no can do. Coffee was very good. It's a little deli and although it wasn't filled up with people, I can see where things can get tight. My 3-stars is based on the strawberries. We should have been told at the beginning. I know for sure one in our group may have taken another option. And it is likely, if we had strawberries as an option, we would have had to pay for it. Stronly recommend if you don't have something that is expected, put it up front for the customer to decide how they want to proceed.

There's no indoor dining. Only one of the two employees inside was wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. Since this was our first time here, we just ordered their blueberry bagel with cream cheese and their everything bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon. We asked for both of these sandwiches to be toasted. The blueberry bagel wasn't flavorful, and their cream cheese spread was sour and salty. We didn't get the aroma of cream cheese that we're familiar with. The everything bagel had a lot of flavor, with garlic as the predominant flavor. The texture of the bagel was quite hard and chewy, though. But, the eggs, cheese, and bacon filling weren't very flavorful. I thought the eggs needed seasoning as well. Next time, I may order the plain, onion, or sesame bagel and ask that the filling be seasoned more with salt. Their menu is extensive. So, I may come back and try their lunch sandwiches and omelettes. I may also try coming earlier in the morning to get their bagels and food at their freshest. Unfortunately, we came here closer to when they were almost going to close up shop.
Rubenesque - was nice, had great sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The pastrami was decent. I know NY sandwich's go overkill with the meat. But I was like man this bread is way too thin for this amount of meat. It helped that the pastrami was great quality though. 4/5 Cheesesteak sandwich - the cheesesteak sandwich was solid. Good proportions and tasted great, the sandwich was kinda fatty given that this sandwich uses provolone. Felt a bit greasy but too crazy, still a fantastic sandwich. 3.5/5 Miscellaneous - love the environment and the ambience, gives off a NY vibe while being in Sugarland. The staff is nice and patient and are willing to give solid recommendations. 5/5
#9 lox and shmear $23 ordered the #9 for my first time due to my theory; if this type of bagel is delicious then all of their others may also be great! And it was, very packed and meaty, lots of shmear, plenty crunchy veggies. I even came back the same week to order their breakfast bagel which also was delicious! Price is steep for this one smoked salmon bagel, besides this one the rest of their pricing is reasonable. read more

Simple and straightforward bagel spot with quick, friendly service. I ordered a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese mixed with chunks of salmon. Overall, it was tasty, just a little on the pricey side for what it was. The place itself is bright, clean, and spacious for a grab-and-go style shop. I'd come back again, especially to try one of their signature bagel sandwiches loaded with meat. read more

Four words for ya.... Black And White Cookie. Yes. You can find one here and I loved it. The bagels are great too, and affordably priced.... and did I mention they taste great? I have been to pretty much every bagel place in Southwest Houston and Bagel Express is definitely on my short list of places I like =) That's my New Yorker review. Also, please note the place does deli sandwiches and uses Boar's Head brand meat, which is really nice compared to inferior cuts you get unless you use the Boar's Head name! NOT a mom and pop place anymore! The menu says Kenny & Ziggy's. Clearly some ownership change has taken place. The good news is now they have come into modern times with a card option because they used to be cash only. The bagels were stale and the strawberry schmear did not taste like strawberry and was neon pink. As we sat and ate our subway station old bagel, some regular customers complained about the coffee but did say it "tasted a little better today than it did last time". So I guess the coffee is lacking too. This place is not fresh and not a local business anymore. read more

Tried it for the first time today, instant fan! I had the nova bagel, which is their salmon with cream cheese, red onion, tomatoes, capers. Everything is fresh. It was so bomb!! Might not get it often Bc it's pricey, but will alway come back when I want to treat myself! It's worth it!! read more

First time here! Been wanting to try it out for weeks but never made the time. When we first walked the young lady was polite but we needed a second to look at the menu. Then a middle age woman took our order, who was honestly pretty rude while taking our order. Idk what she had going on but it is important to have a give good costumer service because even my boyfriend mentioned it without me bringing it up. The service was just rude and off. The bagels were okay a little hard for my taste but good! I'll probably go again to give it another chance. Other than the service being shitty everything was okay. We both ordered egg, cheese and sausage in our bagels. & one blueberry muffin just had a bite of it to taste it it was great!!! read more

Hubs was craving a sandwich so we can here for lunch. I ordered my usual turkey bacon on bagel bread. Imagine my shocking disappointment when the lady said they were out of bagel bag or they don't have bagel bread anymore, IDK which one because I blacked out for a second. I decided on wheat bread instead. The Hubs got a club sandwich on rye bread. Both sandwiches were MEATY and delicious. Next time we would order extra bacon. read more
As a bagel lover, I expected more from this place.. it is located in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, however (I'm from the NYC area so standards for bagels are high lol). I'm sure Houston has some good bagel spots, perhaps not the suburbs. This place had good variety with the standard types of bagels. I got the #6, which was the "Mex-I-can" bagel - it was avocado, egg, cheese, and bacon (I got it without bacon). It was drenched in siracha Mayo- way too much. It was still good but I took a lot of the Mayo off the bagel. The egg was delicious. The prices were HIGH- and that's coming from someone from an EXPENSIVE area (currently residing in DC)... I was shocked at the prices - about $20 for a mediocre bagel, sparkling water, and a coffee YIKES. Only bagels in town so you have no choice other than this place- decent if you're desperate for a bagel. read more

I've been going to this place for years. Everyone there is always friendly and helpful. The bagels are fresh and the cream cheese spreads are delicious. Picked up this awesome challah bread this morning. Looking forward to making some great French toast. read more

I came in for a quick bite after the gym. I ordered a blueberry bagel with cream cheese to go. The bagel was a good size and they were NOT stingy on the cream cheese. Actually it was almost a tad bit to much cream cheese but I ran have more then less. The bagel was perfectly toasted. The only negative I have to say is the bagel didn't have a strong blueberry flavor like I was hoping. It was good but it could have been better. I will definitely come back and try a different flavor. Also they have hot grill items and I may give them a try in the future. The place is not that big so I suggest order to go. The # 1 tip is they only accept cash or a check so make sure you are prepared. read more
Aye it's Mark the o here. It's a bagel place near Sugarland and I got number 1 on the menu which comes with a bagel and egg and cheese. You can add sausage but I think that's costs $2. Total was around $10. Overall, I will just say it was underwhelming but it still tasted good. The Jalapeño bagel I got was alright. It's just your everyday bagel. I couldn't really taste the bagel though. I can't remember if there was a sauce on the bagel sandwich but if there was then I also forgot it was on there. The egg and cheese are your standard egg and cheese. The sausage patty was good but it kinda sucks how you have to pay extra to have it. It was a solid sandwich but I just expected more. It seems like the other food there looked better. The bagel and cream comes with a generous portion of cream. The muffin, which I had a bite of, was very good and had a citrus yes sweet taste to it. read more
