Ah man...I wanted to like this place so bad. First time coming. Came for the Lox but went with the Brooklyn boy for myself and the Mexican (plus bacon) for my son. All downhill from there. We sat for at least 30-40 mins waiting. When I asked someone to check on my order it came out 5 mins later. Arriving home I realized the food wasn't right. The Mexican presentation was great, it didn't have any bacon tho. For +$4 I definitely wanted my bacon. The Brooklyn boy...trash. There was no onions or feta cheese at all. Pastrami was only on half of my sandwich. Literally. I called and expressed my issue. I was told I could return for a refund, in which I did. I was satisfied until I got home and actually counted the money. I was only refunded the $4 for the bacon. I even showed pics of the badly made Brooklyn boy. There were no complaints on the taste. They were very good. The disappointment was that the pics all reflect strawberries over the toast and just made it look that much better. Mind you the Menu description on the website does not say anything about a fruit, but shows the toast with strawberries. Upon arrival, the breakfast came in styrofoam with plastic ware. No butter was provided, so we had to ask. Then when we asked about the strawberries, we were told they had run out. We then asked about any other fruit availability - none. So I asked, ok, then what about a discount - no can do. Coffee was very good. It's a little deli and although it wasn't filled up with people, I can see where things can get tight. My 3-stars is based on the strawberries. We should have been told at the beginning. I know for sure one in our group may have taken another option. And it is likely, if we had strawberries as an option, we would have had to pay for it. My wife and I stayed in a nearby hotel the night before and decided to forego the routine breakfast buffet of soggy eggs, wimpy bacon and DIY waffles. A quick Yelp search got use to Bagel Express. When we walked in we were surprised to see the Kenny and Ziggy Deli logo on the wall so this was nice as we both like their deli in the Galleria area. So we placed our order and that's when things went down hill. Miscommunication had to be the issue, either we weren't specific or he did not understand, but ordering 2 bagels and to coffees to dine in was a train wreck. Bagels were not sliced or toasted, no cream cheese. Thank goodness I like strait black coffee, my wife trying to get cream n sugar was a struggle. He either didn't care or didn't understand English - and I believe it was a combination of both. Since the bagels were bagged to-go - not dine in, we took the food and left. Later when we got home, we toasted our bagels and put our own cream cheese and they were good. I'd definitely go back, but now I'm a bit more educated on how to order there - wait for one of the more engaged servers to help get our order. read more

So, we really wanted to try this spot out, and one day we decided to grab lunch here along the way while running errands. First things first, they are takeout only right now. There's no indoor dining. Only one of the two employees inside was wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. Since this was our first time here, we just ordered their blueberry bagel with cream cheese and their everything bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon. We asked for both of these sandwiches to be toasted. The blueberry bagel wasn't flavorful, and their cream cheese spread was sour and salty. We didn't get the aroma of cream cheese that we're familiar with. The everything bagel had a lot of flavor, with garlic as the predominant flavor. The texture of the bagel was quite hard and chewy, though. But, the eggs, cheese, and bacon filling weren't very flavorful. I thought the eggs needed seasoning as well. Next time, I may order the plain, onion, or sesame bagel and ask that the filling be seasoned more with salt. Their menu is extensive. So, I may come back and try their lunch sandwiches and omelettes. I may also try coming earlier in the morning to get their bagels and food at their freshest. If you're from New York or used to New York morning bagel, then this place will quench that craving. Prices are pricier than what I'm used to but this is Texas... I got a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese (this is consider as a speciality cream cheese) and Uncle Leo. Uncle Leo is poppy bagel with Nova (smoked salmon), grilled onions, and an egg. Personally, I enjoyed the toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, although a tad pricier than what I would normally pay for at Dunkins in New England. The blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese was about $5, give or take. Uncle Leo was my least favorite because I felt that it was missing something, sorry Uncle Leo. I'm sure you're a great uncle but we got no spark. Overall, if I'm seriously craving for bagels and in the area then I may come here. It's a clean, laid back atmosphere with limited outdoor seating. The good news is now they have come into modern times with a card option because they used to be cash only. As we sat and ate our subway station old bagel, some regular customers complained about the coffee but did say it "tasted a little better today than it did last time". As a bagel lover, I expected more from this place.. it is located in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, however (I'm from the NYC area so standards for bagels are high lol). I'm sure Houston has some good bagel spots, perhaps not the suburbs. This place had good variety with the standard types of bagels. I got the #6, which was the "Mex-I-can" bagel - it was avocado, egg, cheese, and bacon (I got it without bacon). It was drenched in siracha Mayo- way too much. It was still good but I took a lot of the Mayo off the bagel. The egg was delicious. The prices were HIGH- and that's coming from someone from an EXPENSIVE area (currently residing in DC)... I was shocked at the prices - about $20 for a mediocre bagel, sparkling water, and a coffee YIKES. Aye it's Mark the o here. It's a bagel place near Sugarland and I got number 1 on the menu which comes with a bagel and egg and cheese. You can add sausage but I think that's costs $2. Total was around $10. Overall, I will just say it was underwhelming but it still tasted good. The Jalapeño bagel I got was alright. It's just your everyday bagel. I couldn't really taste the bagel though. I can't remember if there was a sauce on the bagel sandwich but if there was then I also forgot it was on there. The egg and cheese are your standard egg and cheese. The sausage patty was good but it kinda sucks how you have to pay extra to have it. It was a solid sandwich but I just expected more. It seems like the other food there looked better. The bagel and cream comes with a generous portion of cream. Actually it was almost a tad bit to much cream cheese but I ran have more then less. The bagel was perfectly toasted. The only negative I have to say is the bagel didn't have a strong blueberry flavor like I was hoping. It was good but it could have been better.
