    (#3) BROOKLYN BOY
    Bryant B.

Ah man...I wanted to like this place so bad. First time coming. Came for the Lox but went with the Brooklyn boy for myself and the Mexican (plus bacon) for my son. All downhill from there. We sat for at least 30-40 mins waiting. When I asked someone to check on my order it came out 5 mins later. Arriving home I realized the food wasn't right. The Mexican presentation was great, it didn't have any bacon tho. For +$4 I definitely wanted my bacon. The Brooklyn boy...trash. There was no onions or feta cheese at all. Pastrami was only on half of my sandwich. Literally. I called and expressed my issue. I was told I could return for a refund, in which I did. I was satisfied until I got home and actually counted the money. I was only refunded the $4 for the bacon. I even showed pics of the badly made Brooklyn boy. I'm pretty upset bc I wouldn't have wasted my time to drive back up there for $4. I spent $40 on probably the most terrible dining experience I've had in a very long time. Needless to say I'm never going back there.

Always good service. Good options for breakfast. I love the Jersey Boy. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Whitefish Salad on a Sesame Bagel
    Celia S.

I've been yearning for Whitefish salad. Growing up in Toronto, every Sunday my Dad picked up bagel and smoked fish. Leaving in Houston, there were a couple of delis and I always ordered a combo of Egg salad, Smoked salmon (lox) and Whitefish salad. I was thrilled to find Bagel Express when we moved to Sugar Land/Missouri City. Today, I was carving for their Whitefish Salad and picked it up. They were just closing and washing the floor. The interior was immaculate and clean. Friendly staff and service. They have an excellent variety on their menu.

I was craving Whitefish Salad and decided to check Bagel Express's website and to my surprise they have Whitefish Salad on their website. I called to check if it was available and they did. They said they close at 2:00 p.m. I jumped in my car and had 8 minutes to get there, arrived just in time. I was thrilled to enjoy the Whitefish salad when I got home. Will be my go to place when I crave for more. Thank you, Bagel Express!

    3 Bagels(1- W/Butter, 1- W/Cream Cheese plain, 1- W/ Bacon) total= $16.24 WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just came in and grabbed 3 bagels for a brunch. When the lady rung me up I was like are you sure that's the right total. She said yes. These are bagels not burgers...... please don't wast your money here. There are better values out there. Very expensive for no reason. Avg. bagels. My mother in law was a regular customer and she said their prices have gone through the roof and she can't justify the cost. Passssssas!!!!

French Toast - No butter or strawberries
    Kathy S.

I was excited to check this place out. As my cousins raved about it, particularly the french toast. It was nice to see the variety of bagels they had and excellent choice of sandwiches. I just did not know what I wanted, but stuck with the original of the french toast, otherwise I would have regretted it. Of the 4 of us, 3 had french toast and 1 had a bagel. There were no complaints on the taste. They were very good. The disappointment was that the pics all reflect strawberries over the toast and just made it look that much better. Mind you the Menu description on the website does not say anything about a fruit, but shows the toast with strawberries. Upon arrival, the breakfast came in styrofoam with plastic ware. No butter was provided, so we had to ask. Then when we asked about the strawberries, we were told they had run out. We then asked about any other fruit availability - none. So I asked, ok, then what about a discount - no can do. Coffee was very good. It's a little deli and although it wasn't filled up with people, I can see where things can get tight. My 3-stars is based on the strawberries. We should have been told at the beginning. I know for sure one in our group may have taken another option. And it is likely, if we had strawberries as an option, we would have had to pay for it. Stronly recommend if you don't have something that is expected, put it up front for the customer to decide how they want to proceed.

    (#3) BROOKLYN BOY

Rubenesque - was nice, had great sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The pastrami was decent. I know NY sandwich's go overkill with the meat. But I was like man this bread is way too thin for this amount of meat. It helped that the pastrami was great quality though. 4/5 Cheesesteak sandwich - the cheesesteak sandwich was solid. Good proportions and tasted great, the sandwich was kinda fatty given that this sandwich uses provolone. Felt a bit greasy but too crazy, still a fantastic sandwich. 3.5/5 Miscellaneous - love the environment and the ambience, gives off a NY vibe while being in Sugarland. The staff is nice and patient and are willing to give solid recommendations. 5/5

    Blueberry bagel with cream cheese
    Gin Y.

So, we really wanted to try this spot out, and one day we decided to grab lunch here along the way while running errands. First things first, they are takeout only right now. There's no indoor dining. Only one of the two employees inside was wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. Since this was our first time here, we just ordered their blueberry bagel with cream cheese and their everything bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon. We asked for both of these sandwiches to be toasted. The blueberry bagel wasn't flavorful, and their cream cheese spread was sour and salty. We didn't get the aroma of cream cheese that we're familiar with. The everything bagel had a lot of flavor, with garlic as the predominant flavor. The texture of the bagel was quite hard and chewy, though. But, the eggs, cheese, and bacon filling weren't very flavorful. I thought the eggs needed seasoning as well. Next time, I may order the plain, onion, or sesame bagel and ask that the filling be seasoned more with salt. Their menu is extensive. So, I may come back and try their lunch sandwiches and omelettes. I may also try coming earlier in the morning to get their bagels and food at their freshest. Unfortunately, we came here closer to when they were almost going to close up shop.

Stale, dry, and chewy (but not good bagel chewy)

NOT a mom and pop place anymore! The menu says Kenny & Ziggy's. Clearly some ownership change has taken place. The good news is now they have come into modern times with a card option because they used to be cash only. The bagels were stale and the strawberry schmear did not taste like strawberry and was neon pink. As we sat and ate our subway station old bagel, some regular customers complained about the coffee but did say it "tasted a little better today than it did last time". So I guess the coffee is lacking too. This place is not fresh and not a local business anymore.

They say the cookies come from NYC
    Karina M.

Four words for ya.... Black And White Cookie. Yes. You can find one here and I loved it. The bagels are great too, and affordably priced.... and did I mention they taste great? I have been to pretty much every bagel place in Southwest Houston and Bagel Express is definitely on my short list of places I like =) That's my New Yorker review. Also, please note the place does deli sandwiches and uses Boar's Head brand meat, which is really nice compared to inferior cuts you get unless you use the Boar's Head name! Cash only- but yea, we all know that by now, right?

Nova bagel with everything. On a garlic bagel!

Cool monopoly posters hanging on the walls…read more I was a bit taken aback how darn pricey it was for the drinks. $8.50 for Pandan matcha latte + $1 for oat milk (even though on the menu it says your choice of milk and it reads $7.50). They do need to consider updating the online menu. What's in the Pandan Matcha Latte? Double espresso, pandan, matcha, condensed milk, coconut, + milk. Pretty dense combo but it made me curious. Rich and sweet. But for the price, it didn't feel special. Ordered this with the turkey avocado croissant at 11:15am on a weekday with no one else in the restaurant and it took about 5 minutes. Not tremendously a long wait but can't imagine if it were busy. The sandwich wasn't bad, but the croissant was a little chewy and stale. The amount of avocado was a bit laughable (see picture). $13 felt like a high price for a croissant, turkey, cheese, and the illusion of an avocado. It didn't deliver a premium taste to be sure. Again, the menu needs to be updated if the sandwich is different because the menu says there is tomatoes. Ordering itself was okay. Nothing bubbly, feel good but not rude either. Love the ideas behind the drinks here. I'd love for this place to succeed. But they either need to raise the standards or lower the price to meet expectations (at least for me).

A must stop if you love coffee with a sweet flavorful twist. They consistently deliver great lattes and exceptional service. The pumpkin cream latte continues to reign supreme as the best version of this drink we have ever tasted. The blue dreams latte is a nearly indescribable and wonderful delight - creamy, warm, cozy, sweet, but with the coffee notes still shining through. The Cozened Indigo was similarly excellent with vibrant fruity flavors like coconut, ube, and raspberry. The cortado was great and I picked up notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, and cinnamon. The Danish pastry was toasty, warm, and puffy with a gooey cherry center. Very delicious and surprisingly filling. We will continue to come back and try more of their creative and delicious coffee creations! Lots of parking outside. Very cool aesthetic inside with a vinyl station, artwork on the walls, a cool assortment of coffee brewing equipment, and succulents - very cozy. Good amount of outlets for those looking to study/work. Wifi works great.

Service is always friendly, the line moves quickly, and each visit is accompanied by the smell of fresh bagels. Jeff's Bagels has specialty limited edition flavors daily with a good selection of everyday options, all of which can be found on the app. There are also multiple schmears, whipped butter, and even some vegan options. A small display case next to the register houses some additional desserts. There is an extensive coffee menu as well. Bagels: The texture is spot on. These bagels offer just the right amount of chew without being leathery, yet are still light and soft on the inside. The boiled skin is just the right thickness somehow, and even with the slight denseness of the dough, it springs back without staying compressed. I've tried the plain, cinnamon raisin, rosemary salt, everything, blueberry bagels and they've all had excellent texture. I would've preferred slightly more cinnamon and raisin on the cinnamon raisin, a touch less salt on the rosemary salt, and perhaps a little more blueberry on the blueberry, but those are likely just personal preferences. Schmears: I appreciate the variety of options Jeff's offers. I'm a plain cream cheese kinda person, but I've tried the vegan plain, maple brown sugar, cookies n cream, whipped butter, whipped butter cinnamon honey. The whipped butter varieties are very creamy, and overall the flavored ones tend to be on the sweeter side. The only one I actively didn't like was the vegan cream cheese; it was too salty and had a strange aftertaste, though the texture was pretty good for vegan cream cheese. My only gripe is the vendetta against toasting. I've been in multiple times when customers have inquired whether they're able to get their bagels toasted, and the response has always been "we don't toast our bagels because they're fresh and boiled." These bagels are delicious on their own, but I love freshly toasted bagels even if they're newly baked.
