Want to go into the bouncy house and jungle gym? You have to buy special socks for $15. Even places like Sky Zone don't charge that much. The manager forced my wife and I to leave the birthday party of my grandson and threatened to call the police when we did not do anything wrong. We were present to observe our grandhildren' s activities but our grandson's mother was making loud complaints to management because of her dislike for us. The Manager would not let us explain to her and claims that we were making a scene??? But it was the mother making the scene. We were passive and trying to talk to the manager. She would not let us speak and kept just telling us to leave or she would call the police. She is doing a CYA with her Manager because I said I would escalate this rude and unnecessary treatment for no valid reason. read more

If only Chuck E. Cheese were a fraction as good about keeping their games functioning as they are about separating parents from their money. It's not like we ask for much (this lineup of games has been almost the same for a decade+). I understand games break, but for them to be out for weeks and still have no sign and still taking people's points (aka. Money) is unacceptable. I found it interesting, though, that no card readers were broken. I saw a bunch of employees working, n when I asked about why there were no signs on the games, I got a very annoyed looking employee who radioed someone but never saw anyone come out to address the issue. The veritable cherry on top was when we left. We stood at the unattended door for almost 2 min to be safety/parent checked to no avail. We eventually walked out no one the wiser after my youngest ran out the front door. He could've easily left on his own or someone could have easily snatched any one of my kids w/o anyone at the front door. After dropping $100+ there over 2 weekends (without food/drinks), I left feeling like I'd be sold something I didn't receive. Came here with my bf and his daughter for a birthday party. The location was kinda yucky. Sticky floors and tables but I kinda expect that in a place that welcomes kids. Cause kids are gross Anyways, the kids had a good time and the prizes are set up so that no kid goes home without at least a piece of candy which I appreciated because nothing is worse than trying to get kids to leave Chuck E Cheese no less empty handed. We visited (and had a party at) the Manassas location and this one. I was so disappointed by this one. First of all, our party planner was terrifying. Like really scary and a bully. We kept laughing because we were just all so scared of her. She kept telling me where to stand and taking my camera in an attempt to take pictures for me. She was just so insistent that SHE could do EVERYTHING. She's in every picture with my son--as he's opening presents, blowing out candles. It was so weird! To add an even stranger element, there was this woman sitting off to the corner of the restaurant on her phone. And her son wandered over and started playing with my son. Then he asked if he could come to my son's birthday party. So of course my 6-year-old son said sure. I ended up having to feed this kid pizza and cake. Between the odd party planner lady to this random kid, it was the strangest party ever. Then, this random kid told my son, "this is my 4th party I've been to this week!" So this lady just brings her kid to chuck-e-cheese to let him join parties? I don't know. Maybe they're struggling financially or something. Whatever. It was odd though. Pizza was subpar. My family & I have been here many times with no issues except this time around. The employee with the pinkish hair was extremely rude to me and my family when I was trying to get clarification regarding their menu. She gave us an attitude and was very dismissive & when she was not able to answer my question I requested to speak to a manager. I like that they have a habitrail here. The location by my parents' house does not have climbing tubes anymore and they're my son's favorite part of the experience. They're also the only thing that's free. Lots of good cool games with a variety of interfaces. Also, unlike other arcades like Monkey Joe's (an old favorite of ours before their redesign), all the games are reasonably priced. Your tokens just last here, it's the most cost-effective arcade I think I've ever seen. Their birthday parties are highly scalable, and the prices are reasonable. Shockingly reasonable. The pizza is horrible. It's like that disgusting sweet, weird sauce from cafeteria pizza in middle school. The pepperoni tastes exactly the same way, the only difference is it wasn't the little square pieces. There is really no crust to speak of when it comes to this pizza, it just sort of ends and leaves you to hold onto it with your fingers in the cheese. Also -- where the heck are the games? This is a horrible excuse for an arcade. Most of the stuff in there is for toddlers and involves riding a moving car thing or spinning a wheel or whacking a (digital) mole. OMG! I've never seen so many kids running around cluelessly playing games. Half the kids must have been blind, because it's like they weren't even trying to win. Deposit coin, mash buttons, screen, triggers, etc, then look away to the kids next to them to see that what they were playing was certainly much more interesting than what they were playing. Some kids were so oblivious they didn't even know the games had ended yet they stood there still "playing". I heard other kids blurt out "how do I play this" right after inserting token. I stood there shaking my head in my mind. That said, it's a marvel how well designed everything is from the black light ink stamp on your wrist, to the games and even the ticket chomping counters. How it is that CEC mastered the art of swindling kids of their tokens and replacing it with worthless paper tickets and still make it seem like they won, is just pure evil genius!!! Seriously, the games were entertaining just to watch. It's almost as if the idea of trying to play a game and earning tickets was lost on some kids. It was more like a slot machine. Insert coin and hope the machine would spit out a lot of tickets without knowing how to play the game, much less mastering it. It really was a lot of fun. However, this place was just a freaking mad house. Kids running around everywhere like a playground. Other kids coughing, running around barefooted, spilling things on the floor, etc. This must certainly be the place that kids bolster their immune system. With the whole thing about the super bug enterovirus going around, I was just too scared to touch anything. The machines were really packed tightly together, so this place just felt to cramped. Chuck's mouth didn't work properly at the time of my visit, and so while all of his other movements worked, his mouth didn't move when he spoke, which was distracting. Watching all of the other characters on television monitors also was a bit odd (I can watch TV anywhere). Played Skee Ball in the game room, and noticed that the balls were lighter than most. Food was mediocre, but that's to be expected from Chuck E. Cheese's. You don't go to Chuck E. Cheese's for fine cuisine. read more

It was of course one of the younger members of our family that thought this place "sounded awesome!" I can't say the adults had the same reaction. The last time I was in a Chuck E Cheese was a long, long, long time ago, as a kid. We went expecting the worst. What we found was a surprise. Will the Pizza win a pizza contest? No, but it's decent. There are plenty of games, and games for a wide range of ages. We liked that someone was wiping down some of the games, it appears they actually take an effort to keep it clean and nice. Everyone was friendly. Chuck came out in a costume, and while I found the routine a bit lame all the kids were having a great time. Overall we found it a good value for both the money but also at prize redemption. In reality if you don't have a 4-12 year old child you probably don't want to step into this place. If you do though this location was a surprisingly reasonable experience. Compared to a lot of kid venues that rates 5 stars. read more

After about 5 minutes we came to the table and the pizza was taken to the back. Its been about 30 years since I've stepped into a Chuck E Cheese so with a niece and nephew visiting from out of town, I thought it would be fun to come here and see how it compared to the glory days of my youth. I was really hoping they'd still have the tokens as so many places now have the cards. ...to my delight they do! The one major difference from now vs the 80's is the black light stamp they give everyone in your party when walking in the door. I guess fears of kid snatchings and everything. Things were much more carefree 30 years ago. The kids always love Chuck E Cheese regardless and had a blast. What I didn't like about this place that the kids didn't notice was a complete lack of cleanliness. I get it: greasy pizza and kids. It will be somewhat dirty. However, I think they should wipe down the games at the end of the day and it sure didn't seem like it. One of the ice makers at the soda machines had what looked like black mold/mildew on the inside of the dispenser. Secondly, many of the games were broken. You'd put in tokens and then nothing would happen. Plus out of about 6 machines that count your tickets to "cash in" for prizes, 4 were out of service. The place is very understaffed as well. There wasn't enough staff and when you needed assistance, no one was around. I think on a busy Sunday afternoon there were about 4 people working - if even that. Sometimes it seemed like you could only see 2 people who looked so overwhelmed. Then they had a countdown to a live Chucky show. I gathered the niece and nephew, got them all jacked up excited and ran to the stage. The countdown came and went with no sign of Chucky. He never showed up. The one positive is that the pizza wasn't bad. However, I couldn't recommend this place due to the lack of staffing, broken games, and its disgustingly filthy. OMG!!! So, Chuck E Cheese supposedly has this ingenious way of keeping your child safe ... stamping invisible numbers on the back of their hands. A few weeks ago, I took my kids there to meet a friend & her kids and I watched as my youngest (2 yrs old) started to walk out with a Japanese family ... after supposedly having her hand checked for the number. Needless to say, I was pretty upset & began asking the guy at the front WHY he had let my daughter walk away with a different family. Long story short, their 3rd number line on the stamper had broken & after they reached #99, they started over again ... repeating numbers on different families. This Chuck E Cheese's, like all of them, is a great place to bring the kids. My recent visit was to take part in a birthday party. The place is pretty large and has lots of games for the kids to play. The birthday party was well done and just like I remembered from when I was a kid. The pizza was better than I remember and while it's not the best pizza in the world, it does the job. The birthday cake was tasty so that was a nice surprise. The staff was pretty friendly and they did a good job with the birthday party. Some random kid stole one of the cups of coins that belonged to one of the kids in our group and they quickly replaced it with another cup of coins which was nice. The facility was clean and I have no complaints in this area. They do something I really like, which is to stamp the hands of the parents and the kids when they come. So when you leave the stamps have to match up. This provides a level of comfort and security that allows you to let your kid roam free without worrying that someone's going to walk out with them. The only issue I have is that Chuck E Cheese's is not a gun friendly business. For this I knock off one star. Otherwise I really like this place. *This business is NOT gun carry friendly. read more

Best thing, you and your child are given stamps that match numerically and only visible in a black light. There is literally a guard at the door to ensure your child is safe and not able to leave or worse, be taken, without you there showing your matching number. No other kids play places do this. We attended a birthday celebration for my granddaughter yesterday at the Dulles Chuck E. Cheese. We were greeted by Katie, our hostess, who explained how everything worked and organized the kids. Organizing children is much like herding cats, but Katie did an admirable job. Considering the venue, the food was basic and good. The arcade games were fun for the kids with lots of blinking lights and noise that would drive a deaf person crazy. But all was for the kids and the kids had fun! I would not hesitate to bring my grandchildren back here again. These people know what they are doing and they do it well. Katie made the whole event fun! read more

Speaking as a former child who often went to Chuck E. Cheese, I knew what I was getting myself into. You know it's going to be packed when it's a Saturday in the single digits outside. You know kids are going to be running around, losing their minds with excitement. You know it's going to be loud, you know you're going to be outnumbered. Got there around 11, and the place was moderately busy already, by the time we left at 1, there wasn't an empty seat in the house. We ordered a standard pepperoni pizza and the salad bar. Let me say this, the food was actually impressive considering the circumstances. No, I'm not high on Mountain Dew and Pixie Sticks, I was truly shocked at how good the pizza was. Low expectations perhaps? Perhaps, but it's definitely not bad by any means. Don't get me wrong, this isn't gourmet pizza, but for what it is and where it's at, I'd order it every time. Imagine a step above Little Caesar's. The salad bar was even more shocking. The quality blew Ruby Tuesdays out of the water, not saying much, but again remember where you're at. The selection wasn't expansive, but everything was really, really fresh. My only gripe is that the inside looked a little tired. Some machines looked like they were past the end of their life, others didn't work, and some we'e just taking up space. I understand these games have a hard life, but sometimes they need sent into the sunset. And by the way, the ticket payouts are a joke, you're lucky to get 2 or 3 tickets on most machines -- $5 bucks later you have a kazoo that breaks before you leave the place. I've given this location only three out of five stars, even though my experience here was great! Now why would that be? Seems completely paradoxical, right? Not really, when your intelligence is casually insulted by one of the employees shortly after walking through the front door. During the stamping process, a courteous employee stamped my wife's arm and my son's arm. When it was time for me to get stamped, I presented my right arm - big mistake, apparently. "Not that left, your other left!" another employee exclaimed condescendingly, even though I wasn't made aware beforehand, thus making me feel like a marginally exceptional dolt. Was this employee finished with her childish ridicule? No, not really. She continued on with her ignorant banter, and remarked to my wife something overtly misandristic. "You've got to train them early on!" followed by what one can only describe as a depraved cackle. The bottom line is that she disrespected me directly in front of my family, and it's quite pathetic that this even happened to begin with. One employee fixed a machine then give my daughter the tickets he racked up while making the repair. Another employee likely followed the proper protocol by not letting me leave with my son because I arrived later and didn't have a matching stamp. We went once to another location for a birthday party and it was horrible. So when spirit night for our elementary school came around my son kept asking if we were going to go. He even came home and told me Chuck E. Cheese came to his school and begged to go. Since we are new to the neighborhood and want to support the school as well as give our kindergarten son a chance to socialize with classmates we decided to give it a shot. We went on a rainy Thursday night so it wasn't too packed which was great. This location is smaller than the precious one we had been to so it was less overwhelming. Pizza isn't anything to brag about. Games are honestly a waste of money, but the kids love them so much just to trade the tickets in at the end for some small trinket. So this visit wasn't as obnoxious as I thought it would be. Do I want to go back? Not really...the kids had a blast though. Would I go back? Cheese (at least not in the past couple of decades) so I was blown away by how attentive and energetic the staff was. The facility was clean and looked like it could have been brand new. Almost all of the machines were working and were up-to-date and kept my 4 year old and his friends entertained for the entire two hours. I'm not really a huge fan of the chain bc of previous experiences at different locations, but my 4 year old really wanted to go. I have to say out of all of my experiences this one triumphs them all, in a positive way that is. The establishment was clean and I have to say has a very nice, patient, attentive and polite staff. My four year old throughly enjoyed herself playing the games and winning tickets and of course picking out the prizes.
