Liberian cuisine has been near impossible to get in the Detroit area since the early 80's. I haven't had any in a while. Fate however delayed me. I don't own a car and the restaurant is 25 miles away, Outside all the delivery apps ranges. So I couldn't get the food for months. Until today. Little Liberia is in a new hip part of Detroit. The neighborhood is walkable and has bikeways. New residential developments and inevitable gentrification are afoot. This restaurant deserves to be either in your regular rotation or a priority visit for a change of pace. It is well decorated and modern. It has a small bar and banquet space plus outdoor summer seating. The food was everything I remembered. The cassava leaf were so reminiscent of my year at LU, I would have been choked up but that would have slowed the pleasure that each forkful of the two entrees and one side I ordered delivered. I would have ordered more but they weren't serving a couple of my all time favorites check rice and potato greens today. I'll definitely be back to get those. Went on a Friday after the lunch rush.
