The staff was very friendly and warm when greeting guests. Their personable nature made the visit that much more worth the walk in the heat. Since the place was pretty busy we took bar stools to avoid waiting for a table and it was a good view of the smaller kitchen area. I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency we saw from the busy crowd and the food not taking 10 years. The food was tasty. I truly enjoyed my Korean spicy fries. Spicy in name not truly spicy to cause a burn if that makes sense. I was craving a traditional breakfast plate but the staff and my friends who are local insisted that I needed to try the Korean fries so I did both. Was it greedy of me? Absolutely. Did I care? No. The locally sourced sausage was also very tasty. I must try to find it to cook at home. My friends ordered their regular go-to meals so it was great according to them. The burger and the duck hash. I think I'll go back and try the duck hash next time for sure. And another thing, there's a particular parking garage they validate a couple hours for. So parking is not an issue in this downtown office building.

I have been following Little Liberia launch progress and was excited to be able to experience those west African flavors again. Liberian cuisine has been near impossible to get in the Detroit area since the early 80's. I haven't had any in a while. Fate however delayed me. I don't own a car and the restaurant is 25 miles away, Outside all the delivery apps ranges. So I couldn't get the food for months. Until today. Little Liberia is in a new hip part of Detroit. The neighborhood is walkable and has bikeways. New residential developments and inevitable gentrification are afoot. This restaurant deserves to be either in your regular rotation or a priority visit for a change of pace. It is well decorated and modern. It has a small bar and banquet space plus outdoor summer seating. The food was everything I remembered. The cassava leaf were so reminiscent of my year at LU, I would have been choked up but that would have slowed the pleasure that each forkful of the two entrees and one side I ordered delivered. I would have ordered more but they weren't serving a couple of my all time favorites check rice and potato greens today. I'll definitely be back to get those. Went on a Friday after the lunch rush. I walked in was greeted and seated in the lightly populated dining room by Tia. I put my experience in her hands and was delighted with the result. Everything EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS.

Appetizers: Pepper Kala: Get these!! They come with 4 of them and are such an amazing texture. You'd think it would be that of a donut but it's has almost a mochi bouncy texture and it is savory! An amazing appetizer! Garden Quinoa: An incredibly fresh and lite start to the meal, easy to share. Kafta Skewers: A bit of a dryer but flavorful 2 meat skewer, but comes with a cucumber salad and pita. This app is less shareable than the others but the skewers are decent size but would recommend getting two orders if your group is larger than 4 people. Entrees Roasted Chicken with the Jollof Rice: The chicken was tender fall off the bone but paired great with the Jollof rice, peppers, onions and vegetables. Just a nice hearty dish. Groundnut Stew: This was a stand out to me, the mix of seasoned beef with the peanut sauce was unique and delicious! It's has subtle spice, like barely mild. An excellent hearty dish. Roasted Goat Shank: My friend got it right when she said there was some serious tenderness happening. Fall off the bone meat that has a subtle gamey flavor but is super tasty. Kidney Beans: My friend loves this dish and my other friend who tried it said they would order again!! Dessert: Pistachio Delight: My friends were obsessed with this 10/10 would order again! A note, both mocktails, Palm Cooler and Berry Colada, were tried at our table and were delicious. Overall it was a GREAT meal!! | 10/10 will be dining here again! The waitress was kind and attentive. They have beautiful artwork around the room and we received our food at a great pace. Shout out to Little Liberia, excited that you chose the east side to open!! You deserve all the hype!

Detroit pop shop does popsicles right!…read more That would be my hope since that's what they're all about but now after finally trying one, I can attest to it. Their popsicles bring regular store bought popsicles to shame. I don't think I can ever go back now. We had an employee celebration at work this past week since Henry Ford Health System was celebrating their centennial and Detroit pop shop was there handing out free popsicles. Yeah! Normally they're $3. They had a sugar free one available but I opted for the one with sugar. I believe it was blueberry raspberry and it was delicious! It was super flavorful, not overly sweet, and perfect for a hot summer night out. They are smaller than your average popsicle which is a bummer. However, you can tell they're quality. I will definitely keep an eye out for them next time I'm at Eastern Market or I might have to stop by Parker Street Market (great little market that sells only Michigan made food/drinks!) in the West Village to try some of their other flavors.
