I contacted Leikin because they sold me this vehicle as Certified Pre-Owned. I was not initially demanding that they pay the entire repair bill. I asked them to consider goodwill assistance, help me transition into another Mercedes-Benz, or work with me toward another reasonable solution. Leikin responded that because I now live in Oklahoma and they are in Ohio, it would be cost-prohibitive to bring the vehicle back for their own diagnosis, so they were unable to offer any assistance. That was extremely disappointing. I purchased Certified Pre-Owned because I believed it provided additional confidence in both the vehicle and the Mercedes-Benz ownership experience. Facing a complete engine replacement only about two years later is difficult enough. He told me to cancel the Tow and he came and got us. he towed the Minivan back to the lot and made sure my Family and I had a vehicle to get home. In addition, during a phone call with Michael Megresh, the owner, he told me the tires were new all around. I live about an hour away, so I did not want to drive there until I had financing arranged through a third party. I relied on the statements in their listing and on what I was told over the phone. Those statements, which are still on their website, were completely false and, in my opinion, borderline fraudulent. Because I was seriously interested in the vehicle, I paid $195 to have a well-respected independent pre-purchase inspection company inspect the car. The inspection found that the brake pads were only about 50%. The tires were mismatched, with three of one kind and one different tire. The tread depth was only 4/32nds. One tire had a gash in the sidewall, and another tire was badly worn on the outside edge. One of the most important things to me was finding a vehicle with good tires and good brakes so I would not immediately have to spend money on maintenance. I assumed the description they posted on every site where they listed the car was truthful. It was not. It could not have been more misleading. When I called the salesperson I had been dealing with, he said he had given the matter to his boss. That is when I called Mr. Megresh. I have never been treated so rudely as a customer. He told me my inspection company was lying to me and did not know what they were doing. What possible motive would an independent inspection company have to give me false information? Despite the inspection results, he still insisted the tires were excellent and the brakes were new. Then he had the nerve to offer only $200 off the price of the vehicle. The only reason I paid for the inspection was because I relied on their representations that the vehicle had new brakes and excellent, or supposedly new, tires. Both of those statements were false. All I asked for was reimbursement of my $195 inspection fee because their misleading listing caused me to spend that money. Whatever you do, stay away from this dealership. In my opinion, they made false and fraudulent statements in their listing and over the phone, treated me rudely when confronted with the inspection results, and refused to take responsibility. They will tell you anything to sell a car. Be very careful.
