I had an issue with the cook when I was there. I just got a breakfast sandwitch, in the menu it says: meat cheese and eggs on an english muffin or bagel. I got bacon eggs and cheese on a bagel. There were only 2 bagel choices but anyway the sandwitch comes out with 1 egg. This stuff always happens to me, people not being truthful. So I asked the waitress and she say the lunch sandwitches have 2 eggs and breakfast have 1 egg then walked away... I got up, got a menu again then called her back and showed her what her own menu says. People, eggs implies more than 1.. she says "yea I can see what you mean" when I read the description I already know back. She asks if I would like another egg, so I say yes sure. She goes into the kitchen and returns in a minute to tell me "I will have to charge you for the extra egg" no thanks. I just want what I ordered. The sandwitch costs $4.50 which is expensive for a breakfast sandwitch. Christophers is full of itself and the place looks a lot nicer than it really is. Portions are small and coffee is really badly bland. Prices are high and they lie about the menu. Any good breakfast is going to put 2 eggs on a sandwitch anyway (regardless if its lunch or breakfast) especially if its $4.50. The waitress wasn't very smart either. Its an egg! Even if the chef says "no im charging for this egg on xmas eve. I DON'T CARE WHAT MY MENU SAYS." She could have said "okay" to the chef. Then just give me my egg I paid for already and not charge me and the chef would never know. But she came back with the chefs FINAL DECISION: I was wrong and he was right... This place is like a court. All they want is your money and don't listen to your arguement. Again mine was an (s) at the end of a word means more than one... I wont be going back. There's lots of better places around the area... when I left the lady up front says "bye" not thank you for coming or hope to see you soon, just a rather cold emotionless bye. So I said bye back. Wow I'm enamored. Everything about his place is super charming. I was greeted and smiled at by every employee that I encountered. The bathrooms are cute and clean. I'm in love with the menu. There are a lot of vegetarian options. The brunch menu is unique and the spinach and tomato eggs benedict is fantastic. The bar service was amazing, incredible. Christopher's is hands down the best breakfast place around! We arrived at 10am on 4th of July weekend and the wait was 30-40 minutes. Plenty of room to wait outside on a nice day and we had no plans, so why not?! We were seated earlier than expected and got coffee & juices right away. For food we had the ultimate omelette and the bananas foster french toast. WOW! Both were delish, but that french toast was out of this world! I like that everything is fresh and cooked to order. The potato pancakes on the menu are a nice change for something different and the prices are very reasonable. My only advice is - call ahead to avoid the wait. Also, we saw many tables that got up and sat dirty for 5-10 minutes before being cleaned and there was an abundance of staff at the front desk (3 to be exact) that were just standing around that could have helped. Not kid friendly! The nasty woman behind the counter would not allow the stroller inside and made numerous comments about the diaper bag being at the foot of our booth. If it was crowded and cramped, I could understand but there was plenty of room and hardly anyone there. It was like she was going out if her way to make things more difficult for me. So happy my husband and I finally went out for breakfast here. We didn't call ahead, but it was pretty quick for us - maybe a 20 min wait. Got seated and had the friendliest waitress who was really accommodating. Now for the foooddd - so so good!!! I got the spinach and feta omelette and added bacon and it was perfect. The right size, really tasty potatoes. We also asked if we could buy one pancake to split and they were happy to do that for us! The cinnamon apple french toast is a favorite in my house. The pancakes are also good and not at all greasy, the bacon is nice and crispy - albeit a little dry, and the omelets are very good. The wait staff is nice and accommodating, but the hostesses can be a bit unfriendly and sometimes make you feel like you are being an inconvenience. I have been to this restaurant many times and I like it. I am not saying it is the best food I have ever eaten because it is not but I like the family atmosphere and the food is decent. The waitresses are pleasant and I think front staff does a good job in a chaotic environment. I am actually headed there this am. I read a comment here recently about someone who brought in their own coffee from Starbucks and were not allowed to drink it. Granted, there is a sign inside the establishment stating no food or drink from outside. This is the only real complaint I have about the place-it has the absolutely worst coffee I have ever had. It is always old, stale and has been around way too long. I have stopped ordering it. I drink my coffee at home before I go. I have been to many other breakfast places that provide the same type of food but the coffee is no way as bad as it is at Christopher's. I will not be returning to Christopher's restaurant after my latest experience there. Now i user to come into the restaurant about 1-2 times a month so ive been there plenty of times and have had no conplaints, but this last time was atrocious. Let's start off with the hostess. The older woman that works in the front is extremely rude to people that come in. Isn't her job to be nice and welcoming? Well if so she isn't doing her job. So I sat down at the bar and was watching the staff go about their day in the kitchen, when something caught my eye. One of the cooks was taking a towel and whipping the dishwashers with it. Now what I don't understand is how someone has the nerve to do that, knowing that there are people sitting at the bar watching them. And the worst part about it was that the manager saw him doing this and didn't say anything about it! News flash to the kitchen workers, PEOPLE CAN SEE EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO! the only plus side of the workers during this trip was the waitress that I had. She was extremely polite and knowledgeable about the menu. That combined with the good food was why I rated 2 stars and not 1. The owner of this restaurant really needs to look pay better attention to what is actually going on in the restaurant, and as I said I will most likely not be returning to Christopher's. read more
