The Triple Double Plate
Melissa M.

We went for breakfast yesterday around 11. It's small inside, but they have plenty of tables. We were sat right away. They have a chalkboard with specials and make their own muffins and hot sauce! I got the triple double which comes with 2 eggs, a breakfast meat, home fries, and a pancake or French toast. I liked that they had sausage links and patties. And went with the chocolate chip pancake (although a $2 upcharge for chocolate chips is pretty stiff to me). The eggs and sausage were good. The home fries were beyond bland and needed sooooo much more seasoning to be enjoyable. I didn't waste my calories on them. The pancake was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of chocolate chips. My husband got the western omelette and it was a decent size with nice chopped up ingredients. It was slightly overcooked, but still tasty. He agreed with me that the home fries were disappointing. Really cute place that we'll definitely try again.

We didn't have to wait too long on a Sunday morning which was nice. Both the host and waitress was friendly. They had a lot of tables and were pretty busy. They had a great blood orange juice. I got one pancake which was $7. The BYO omelette with spinach, cheese, mushroom and sausage was like $18 which is super expensive for a diner omelette in my opinion. It was standard, nothing to write home about so defiantly not worth the price considering the home fried potatoes were undercooked. Probably won't be back

Lox bagel sandwich and corn beef hash

Fresh brunch food with the most reasonable prices! We ordered the lox bagel sandwich, the corn beef hash (what they are famous for) and a gluten free pancake. The lox bagel sandwich was so tasty. The bagel tasted freshly made, big slices of lox and a thick spread of cream cheese with capers. One of the best bagel sandwiches I have had here. The gluten free pancake was massive and easily shared between two people. All this yummy food for only $25! The server was friendly and attentive. Lots of specials. We will definitely be returning. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Amazing restraunt, great service and vibe. And amazing food. Really fast at getting food out

Best breakfast place. Best corned beef hash and bottomless coffee cup. They also make their own hot sauce.

Best breakfast place. I've tried all of them in Wakefield, and I come here the most. Service is amazing, they always fill your coffee cup. Best corned beef hash and they make their own hot sauce! My favorite is the Jay's favorite. Can't go wrong with any dish here.

This is what I call service!!! From the front door we were greeted with smiles and quick service ,, we were told some suggestions and shown the "specials board"prices were reasonable &hot sauce made from scratch every day ,, I purchased a bottle to take back to Florida, cannot wait to visit this cute little diner again

Spinach, tomatoes, turkey sausage scrambled no cheese. Home fries and english muffin YUM.

Great find for the weekend trip. The food was fresh the coffee was hot and strong but not brunt! When I asked for water they gave me bottled water I didn't mind that at all. I drink ALOT of water so I had to ask for tap and ice because she kept bringing me bottled water. The food was very good and fresh. There was SO MUCH. The omelet said 3, the steak and eggs said 3 it definitely looks like 4-5. Homefries were crispy and well seasoned not salty at all. I definitely recommend this as a go to breakfast.

First time here. Food is fresh and tasty. Service is the best friendly and fast. Just the right size not too big and not too loud.

Service was good, but my eggs Benedict and home fries were not seasoned. The hollandaise sauce had no flavor. My husband enjoyed his omelet.

My fiancé who is a French toast expert said the crunchy French toast was quite possibly the best…read moreshe's ever had. Got sat down quickly on Easter Sunday. Well oiled machine for service. Good vibes. Quick service. Food quality was the main driver for the review. Surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Kudo's to the people that are running this place.

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!

The breakfast menu includes plenty of options with filling portions of breakfast staples including eggs, benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, waffles, or breakfast sandwiches. The menu also offers several sandwiches -- including grilled chicken, boneless fried chicken, chicken salad, steak and cheese -- which are available all day for those heathens who don't crave breakfast foods at every opportunity. I had the Javah Grindah sandwich ($8), comprised of two eggs (over medium at my request), breakfast meat (ham, bacon, or sausage), and a side of James River BBQ sauce on a fresh grinder roll. Unfortunately.. although the description on the menu doesn't mention cheese, my sandwich came out with two slices of white American cheese. I hate having to ask a restaurant to do this, but I had to send it back because lactose. Our server apologized for the misunderstanding and brought a replacement sandwich without cheese out straight away. The sandwich was really tasty with the BBQ sauce. My dining companion preferred something lighter and opted for the Skinny Girl Pick ($12), comprised of two eggs, fresh avocado, fresh fruit, and a few slices of wheat toast, which she really enjoyed. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! PRO TIP: Make sure you let your server know of any food allergies or dietary restrictions, in case the chef decides to use ingredients not listed on the menu.
