Why I won't be back: - There was only one waitress running tables, clearing tables, taking orders, etc. -ordered OJ, never got it -ordered coffee multiple times only got 1 refill and it was cold. -service was terrible; napkin had what looked like feces on it, no set table before sitting, no menus,etc. -food: bland, over cooked eggs, cold hashbrowns after them being brought after the fact/not with the meal, avocado brought on a separate plate after being given the omelette that was suppose to come with avocado. When given the bill, asked "how was everything". When honest about our exeperince waitress apologized and took hot coffee off the bill. While leaving, we talked to a party who was also heading out. They only received waters and never got food. They said they sat for an hour and wouldn't be back. We went for breakfast Saturday morning as we have driven past and were interested. Very small inside, but it wasn't terribly busy at 7:30am. I got the cheddar scramble and the eggs were perfect and the English muffins were good! Their home fries are pretty bland so I didn't waste my time eating them. My husband got the imperial omelette and he loved how cheesy it was and he enjoyed it. We split chocolate chip pancake and it was very thick and cooked well. First time since new ownership, it was great. Service, food both great. The only complaint I would have is it is to crowded. If they could take out maybe a couple of tables it would more space.. I know that would be losing some revenue, but I think the customers would be happier. Some one had written that they were only given one cup of coffee. My Husband and I went to omelette headquarters in Wakefield while waiting for our car to be serviced at Fahey Tire. This place is a gem. The food was very good and the home fries were excellent! It's a small quaint place for breakfast and lunch. The owner Maricel is very approachable and friendly! We will be coming back soon. The menu is also very interesting, with some Spanish flair, added to the menu. They also have lots of omelettes to choose from. If you have room for dessert they carry Richardsons ice cream the best ice cream around. read more

First time here, I got the ultimate breakfast and my husband got the Nutella French toast with banana and strawberry. Both were perfect. Yes it is a little small, so I wouldn't recommend a party larger than 4 but it was very nice. Service excellent and price was in range with others! Will be coming back. read more

The food is about as basic as you can get. Not a ton of flavor but it was fine for a quick breakfast spot. It is clearly a very local place with many regulars. The waitress didn't seem too thrilled to have customers in addition to her regulars. Food was quick, but if I want mediocre eggs I'll likely just make them at home next time. read more

Twice in one month they overcharged me for my breakfast and this last time (this morning) she made it sound like it was my fault. They can't seem to understand that on the menu when it states, bacon or sausage add on for X price you charge that X price not that price plus an additional charge for a side of bacon or sausage. It's under new management. I've been going there for the past 2-1/2 years every Sunday morning. This place is good. It's not quite "destination" for me, but you get what you pay for and you won't be disappointed. Food arrived quick and hot, good coffee, staff is friendly, interior ambiance is bright with some random decor. I think the menu would benefit from streamlining... plenty of options that could just be under "build your own" instead of cluttering the menu. I also feel like they could add just a little extra hit of flavor to the food to change it from typical to interesting, though the clientele here looks like a lot of regulars so I wouldn't expect them to change what is obviously working for them. We found out this place is under new ownership recently. The staff was friendly and asked us how everything was which is why I'm giving two stars. If not for them, it would be one star. The chocolate pancake that was served to us was still very raw. The home fries with my omelette was from the day before and served ice cold and they couldn't even toast the bread. Do NOT get the hash here, it looked terrible and my wife couldn't even eat a quarter of her breakfast. Front of the house was pleasant, but the back of the house is a big problem here. read more

The Good: The thing that really jumped out at us was the price point for virtually all the menu items at this old-school diner were amazingly low. Generally, everything was around 5-7 dollars, even their version of the Hungry Man was $6.75! And you would think with prices so low their food would not be of good quality or freshness, but that is simply not the case. The food ranges from very good to excellent. And there is also a very good variety of things on the menu, with both breakfast and lunch items, so just about everybody could find multiple things to order. And there is definitely a townie vibe in this spot (in a good way), with a ton of regulars, and everybody knowing everybody. Also, although parking can be hard to come by in the area, it being right off downtown Wakefield, this spot has its own large private lot. The Bad: Honestly, although we debated on putting some of the ugly things into this section we could not do it. None of them were bad enough to potentially ruin our experience or justify putting them into this category, so we are left with no bad. The Ugly: So couple things here. First up, even though we liked the townie vibe, we did not appreciate the fact that our waitresses was a lot friendlier with the regulars than with us. ( We are fine with staff chatting up regular customers, just do not ignore/be quick with us.) And although there are maybe only 10 tables, there are a couple that are reserved for parties of 4 or more only, with most of them being window tables. There are no high chairs, but it almost better that way because the restaurant itself is a very tight fit. And the women's bathroom had a big hole in the wall with exposed plumbing, they seemed to have attempted to patch it with what looks like yellow tinfoil, just made it look worse. Final Word: Though there was some definite ugly to be concered about, the price to quality ratio cannot be beat. Neither could the large selection of menu items. 3.5 stars. read more

This place is one of Wakefield's most precious hidden gems! It's an old fashioned, super cozy and flat out delicious breakfast spot. It's quite small in there but that only makes it cozier! It's always the same people working which gives it a homey feel. Make sure to come in knowing it's run by older people so try to be patient! They go as fast as they can and are friendly so there should be no issues. Parking- has its own parking lot. Should never be an issue. Gets busy during weekend brunch hours so prepare for that. Or just come in early and beat the rush! Now let me tell you now about the food: Corned beef hash- honestly one of the best places I've had it from! Very very good. I always ask for well done cause I like it somewhat crispy and they always make it perfectly! Cheese omelette- very good. Can't go wrong with a plain cheese omelette.. like ever! This place lives up to its name and gives you a fluffy, delicious and flavorful one! Home fries- cooked to perfection pretty much. They are fully cooked and crispy in the outside! Comes with most meals which is amazing. Since I tried this place (just about a month ago) Ive come many many times! It's down the street from my house so I now find myself calling in my order and picking it up in the morning on my way to work. They're great with to-go orders! Came here on a Saturday morning around 9. The location was pretty cool. It's an old train station. It's very small restaurant but very unique. When we arrived, it was packed. The wait was about 20mins. What we can notice is it was full of elders. The customer service is ok. They're a bit slow service. After we had been sat down, our waitress didn't come over until 5 mins later. Took her another 10 mins to come back and take our order. I ordered the English muffins, home fries, bacon, eggs and sausage. Also a side order of pancakes. The food was very plain. It's like they didn't add salt and pepper. It had absolutely no flavor. I really love this place: Every time I call for takeout, everyone who answers the phone is so pleasant. Sometimes you call other places for takeout & you get the impression you're bothering them--I never get that feeling here!! the food is always delicious and always ready when I arrive & i'm always greeted warmly when I pick up. As a former retail worker, I know how hard customers can be and the staff here are wonderful. The hash and cheese omelette is delicious & my favorite, although I've never had anything bad. We had the lobster bennie (the breakfast special) and it was excellent. Loaded with yummy lobster meat. The price was right, too, a bit higher than other items but quite reasonable for lobster.
