For a place called the "Omlette Headquarters" I expected so much more. Thoroughly disappointed. I gave it 2 stars because the potatoes were well seasoned and the toast was perfectly prepared. But it's toast, who can mess that up?!?! I woke up craving a vegetable omelette like my favorite diner back in East Boston, Donna's...sigh...every since I left and moved to Woburn I've been trying to find some place, just one restaurant, diner, something that can compare. The Omelette Headquarters...Hello, they must be great! So I thought. Frozen chopped spinach, no way that was fresh. Tomatoes diced beyond recognition. Big hunk of nothing of a breakfast. I should of taking my $9 and cooked it myself at home. Waitress, rude, expressionless, mad because she had to go to work, sure didn't enhance my experience. First and last time going there. Any one that thinks thats a good breakfast has been culinarly deprived. This joint should be made to change thier name to the Toast Headquarters, the one thing they did well. read more

This place is pretty much everything you could want in a casual weekend breakfast place. We just moved to Wakefield and brought our four-year-old here; I ordered the eggs Florentine, my husband had French toast, and we got our daughter a pancake with eggs and bacon off the kids' menu. I sometimes hesitate to order eggs Florentine in restaurants because I've had some horrid ones where it almost seems like they used canned spinach, but this was delicious. My husband also loved his French toast, and my daughter's meal (which we ordered off the kids' menu, but the portion was huge) was great as well. Our waitress, who I believe was named Laurie, was super-friendly and the whole experience was great. We'll definitely be coming back on a regular basis! read more

My boyfriend and I come here every Monday morning when we can. I've never left there unhappy or half-full. Our waitress is fucking ace, the cooks are quick, the food is DELICIOUS. You walk right in and can seat yourself. Someone is always over within seconds of your arrival to take drink orders, and if you know what you want right away you get it lickity split. Parking can be a bitch, but who cares. I'll park on someone else's car if I have to. In fact, I think some have hahhaaha. Lunch is great too, they have a killer tasty Greek salad. Oh yes. read more

GOOD QUALITY, QUANTITY, SERVICE, AND VALUE I've eaten at a few breakfast spots lately, and haven't found a good one until now. 1. FOOD QUALITY - 4 STARS - My three large Scrambles Eggs were cooked correctly. They were moist and ample. There's no up-charge for switching from plain toast to English Muffin, grilled. Prices for egg dishes are low, and include coffee as well as an unusually large amount of Home Fries. 2. CORNED BEEF HASH OMELETTE - 4 STARS - My guest's omelette was HUGE, tasty, and fluffy. The eggs were moist, and the Hash tasted good even though it came from a can. These days, it's nearly impossible to find Hash that's both home-made and good, so this was the next best thing. 3. HOME FRIES - 4 STARS - The potatoes were also cooked correctly. They were cooked until soft, they weren't inundated with Paprika, and they had a slight welcome crispiness to them. They tasted quite good! 4. BLUEBERRY MUFFIN - 4 STARS - Average quality, but moist and tasty. 5. AMBIANCE - 3.5 STARS - Outside of building was newly painted, and it looks good. The inside walls were relatively clean, although the carpeted floor is very dirty and needs to be switched for a new tile floor that can be cleaned weekly to maintain freshness. 6. WAIT STAFF - 4 STARS - The two waitresses worked well in tandem. They took our order quickly, brought the food while still hot, refilled our coffee mugs attentively, and circulated often to make sure that all patrons got whatever incidentals they needed. 7. PRICES - 4 STARS - Eggs cost only $4 to $5, which is reasonably low. All other items such as juice, muffins, etc., are also priced right. 8. VALUE - 4 STARS - Considering quality, quantity, service, and price, this is definitely a good deal. 9. SUMMARY - My guest has been in the food business for many years, and he knows how to cook the right way. He introduced me to this place, and I'm definitely coming back for more. read more

I have heard great things about this place, but had a terrible experience last weekend when I went there. The waitress waited on three tables that came in after us. When we said something she said she would put our food in first, but everyone was served before us. The mid thirty-ish woman that was walking around filling drink orders and busing tables was absolutely miserable and rude. She poured coffee in my fathers tea without even asking if he wanted a refill and then had an attitude about it. She didn't even say sorry or act like it was a mistake. It seemed like everything we asked was an inconvenience. As far as the food, it was just okay. Definitely not worth the aggravation and frustration. I will not be going back anytime soon. When my friend suggested this place for breakfast this weekend, he described it as "being in the first floor of someone's house." Yes, the decor does not to much to enhance the place - picture loads of wooden tables crammed into your grandmother's outdated kitchen. BUT the food was delicious and the service was fast, especially with the busy weekend crowd. If you're looking for standard, greasy spoon breakfast food, I would definitely recommend The Omelette Headquarters. They do the basics - eggs, bacon, homefries, etc. very well. People I surround myself with know that if I take them to Omelette Headquarters then our relationship is solidified in my life. Like a holy conversion, you don't want to break griddled english muffins and runny eggs with just anyone. Bottomless coffee that is constantly being topped off, quick, friendly service, and eggs that you can basically get whatever way you want. Without fail, I go Country Omelette with egg whites and feta and dark rye toast. I went in this past weekend and ordered the same dish - hadn't been there in a few months - and when the waitress brought it over she immediately recognized me and asked how I was doing and that she "should've known this was your order!". Super sweet wait staff, fast order turnover, and you can seat yourself. They also don't care how long you're sitting there - I had a three-hour catchup breakfast with a friend and they didn't bother us once. The lines can get pretty hefty on the weekends - try to avoid the post-Mass crowds and either get there before church gets out or an hour-ish after it does. 5 stars, because it's like your grandma's serving you a delicious breakfast for cheap. read more

I visited the restaurant a few time shortly after its opening and really liked it. Now several years later, the quality has really gone down. The floors are filthy, the food is under seasoned, and service is chaotic. The server dropped my wife's order of Eggs Benedict. Then replaced it with cold eggs. We go here about once every weekend. Service is always the same. Food is consistent. Surprisingly, there is never much of a wait. They move tables pretty fast. I like their salmon benedict. If you like eggs and omelettes, this is the place for you. It's tiny so get there early. As far as I know, there is no call ahead. If you're not an omelette fan, try their french toast. Delicious. Their pancakes are quite large. Actually, all the portions are quite large. We always have leftovers to take home. read more

The service was were okay got the food really quickly but, the server never came back to check in with us for refills or ask us how things were doing. My 4 girlfriends and I were looking for a breakfast spot, and came across this quaint made over train station. We could tell by the crowded parking lot that we were in for a treat! We walked in and it only took a couple of minutes to set up a perfect table for us. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. 3 of us ordered omelets; which came with hash browns & toast. 2 of my friends ordered the thick French toast per suggestion from the waitress. Coffee and Juice were also ordered. The omelette was to die for; every bite had each delicious ingredient in it (I had mushrooms, onions, and cheddar cheese). The Omelette HQ always offers prompt and friendly service. I use them several times every week for breakfast. Lately I've only been able to get takeout due to government restrictions, but now they are opening up for seating again. The place has been under new management for the past several years, and they are trying hard to make the restaurant as good as possible. I especially like the soup, the eggs, and the sandwiches. How could I survive without the friendly omelette HQ? Please support them as they reopen and try to get back to their normal table service. Never been here before but first impressions mean a lot. Walked through the door at 9:45 behind two other individuals. Those two individual sat down nothing was said to them. When we went to sit down right after them the waitress put her hand on her hip very rudely and said "guys we close at 10:00 your food won't be ready by 10 you're not getting served" This waitress is an older lady had a tank top on with tattoos all over her didn't look like she wanted to be there so miserable and rude. How did I end up here in Wakefield? I have no idea. Someone suggested IHOP and I said I would rather dump Maple Syrup down my pants and go sit on a red ant hill in the 100 degree heat while someone screams"rooty tooty fresh and fruity" in my ear over and over again. So in short order I was on line behind blue hair and big butts waiting for my seat in the ex-train depot breakfast spot. Whenever someone opened the door too long someone would yell , "close the door!" so the AC wouldn't leak out. Once I was finally inside I got to yell at the other shlubs to close the door too. Why I enjoy stuff like that is something to ponder another day because the wait wasn't long and I was ready for my first coffee of the day. It was DDC (delicious diner coffee) You can't get coffee this good anywhere except at a great diner. I had the ULTIMATE OMELETTE (make trumpet noises) It was filled with bacon, sausage, ham, peppers, onions and feta cheese. I'm on a diet so I had them hold the salami. waitresses running around like madwomen giving great service. Everything was delicious, cheap and filling. I shudder to think what's going to happen when it reaches the other end of me. I made sure to get the Sunday paper for that. (too much info right?) On the way out I made sure to close the door. I kept referring to this place as the Omelette Shack because it's on the small side, but after having such a great omelette I realized it was worthy of the name. The long list of options should cover just about all the ingredients you really want with your eggs, like the ham, cheese, peppers and salsa I had folded into mine. The Yelper who introduced me to the place didn't even order an omelette, which I understood only after I tried a piece of her raisin bread french toast... Now I'm craving a return visit. I don't know what it is with Wakefield, but it appears to me that most of its dining establishments are content on delivering food that is on par with what you'll get in a hospital. The same can be said of Omelette Headquarters. It's a small restaurant where the food tastes like it came from the kitchen of a retirement home. The omelette have a hard-to-describe nauseating taste, as if it was left out in the sun to rot for several hours then sprinkled with bleach. There was also this white-yellowish goo that oozed out from the omelette, I want to say cheese but it tasted like bad tofu. The potatoes tasted so bad, I'd take fast food fries over that stuff any day. In conclusion, if you want breakfast that taste like armpit, look no further. read more

Yum. The HQ is my favorite breakfast place in the area. Great prices and great food, too. The building used to be a railroad station.

The lady and I had the opportunity to finally try out this little breakfast joint. It's a "seat yourself when there's an open table" type of place, so timing is important. We dropped by a little bit after noon, so we were second in line. Being a small place, the line usually extends out the door. I ordered the steak and eggs, with a side of bacon and my lady ordered the eggs benedict florentine. The portions were big and the food was delicious. My steak came out just way I wanted it. The home fries were seasoned just right and the scrambled eggs were scrambled. Delicious and inexpensive! As for the waitstaff, they were great. Aside from our waitress, we had two others who came by to check up on how we were doing and refilled our coffees. Like everywhere else out there, restaurants can be a hit or miss. Overall, my first experience here warranted 5 stars from me. Update: 12/21/2011 I had to subract 1 Star just because I felt that the quality of the steak of my steak and eggs has seemed to diminished on the last couple of visits here. read more

I was there the other day and watched this poor man wait 20 mins to get a refill of his decaf; Not ok. I'm always on the hunt for eggs benny/florentine made with FRESH spinach. CHEAP and plentiful greasy breakfast food. An expansive menu with, of course, many permutations of omelettes, although be warned that several of their egg combos involve nacho cheese (shudder). The Ultimate Breakfast is $6 and for that you get two pieces of french toast (or pancakes), two eggs however you like, 3 pieces of bacon, three delicious sausages, and two pieces of toast or an english muffin. Sheesh! Sides like home fries (ours were undercooked) and ham, etc, are about a buck fifty per. The space is extremely tiny, there is nowhere to wait so it backs up into a sort of mosh pit, and the decor is god-awful. Prompt and attentive waitresses, fast service.
