Solo customer - busy on a Saturday morning after thanksgiving week. The hostess asked me if I was interested in sitting at their counter spot in the window which I was hoping for anyways. Your knees really lean into the wall and you're in a danger zone of waitress' coming thru but they are attentive. Waitress was super friendly and attentive. I got the lobster Benedict that comes with home fries for $20.99. It ate the whole plate. I felt like I needed a black coffee with my breakfast but was anxious to ask the price so just ordered - unfortunately the price of that was higher than expected, but understandable if you get a lot of refills. Parking was a little tricky to find, there is a smallish lot in the front but was full and drove around and just felt like everything was very far. My sister and I wanted brunch at a place that does takeout. Because they were right around the corner from us, it was an easy decision to make. We wanted to variety of options to try, so we opted for their Ham Steak & Eggs with Potato Pancakes instead of home fries and sampler breakfast. Everything came as requested other than the side of sour cream for the potato pancakes. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and were great to dip for my toast on the side. I was a little disappointed by the size of the ham since the other pictures seemed more generous. Potato pancakes for pretty much like hashbrowns, crispy outside and slices of potato inside. French toast was dry on the inside which I'd prefer over the undercooked alternative. Overall, convenient place to order from and am curious what the ambiance is inside. This is the only restaurant where I can find a patty melt. They accommodate my request to serve it on grilled rye bread rather than Texas toast. They will cook the burger to request. The menu is large and I always think I will try something else, but my taste buds win. They also have delicious had cut onion rings. I've been meaning to go to this restaurant for quite some time as coworkers in area recommended it. I was disappointed. The staff was pleasant but did not offer a refill of coffee. When I asked for extra condiment for my meal that was served. She did not bring them to me & had to wait till she served next table to request again. By that time food was too cold. The toast was lightly toasted ...almost not toasted as if the kitchen was in a hurry. And the food was not hot...a little warm. Great atmosphere!! Scrambled eggs are light and FLUFFY! waffles are so good. we go at least 3 times a month.

The woman that took our order was great and wearing a mask. The woman that delivered our meals was not wearing a mask and was clearly sick. She was sniffling all throughout the restaurant and I could not touch my meal. I did not make a fuss, but did not eat it. I paid, left and threw it away. It seems ridiculous that an unmasked person would be handling food, especially when she is clearly sick. read more

It's so convenient and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience -- in fact, my previous review was my only less-than-best experience, and that's because I didn't know about the Call-Ahead Seating! So I wanted to update. The prices here can't be beat and the food is outstanding. They've got a huge variety of breakfast options that are all freshly prepared, if you're into eggs over medium theirs are beyond reproach. Tip: for extra-crispy homefries, ask them to throw the homefries in the Fry-o-Lator. You won't be disappointed! Definitely do the Call-Ahead, otherwise you'll be waiting a long time for weekend breakfast or brunch. Nice little locally breakfast joint in Reading. This was my first time here but for sure won't be my last. It's a very townee type of place with a home feel. You could tell many patrons who were there are loyal local customers and o can tell why. Our server was very welcoming and nice and built rapport as soon as we walked in. The food came out quickly and was great. I got the breakfast sandwich on an everything croissant and it was delightful. I've never had an everything croissant before but for sure it won't be my last. Only tough thing about this place is finding parking during the busy hours. Other than that it's a great find. Locally owned and operated busy with very very reasonable pricing. read more

Stopped in for breakfast yesterday while out doing errands. Was alone and was seated at the counter which overlooks the kitchen. I couldn't get over how clean and organized the kitchen was during a busy breakfast morning. Small but well-orchestrated kitchen. Everything was in its place and all the staff members, including the owner/manager seemed to get along well and were very helpful to each other. Purchased some bakery items on my way in which they held for me at the front counter due to limited space at the dining counter. Christopher's Sampler breakfast/coffee were great and ample. Hostess was pleasant and efficient. Waitress, was very attentive without being overly attentive. On my way out, the hostess remembered to give me my baked goods without my having to ask. Overall ok breakfast had the eggs Benedict which was about as average as it gets in taste/flavor. Homefries were pretty weak not cooked enough and didnt have a good crisp. The hash was pretty solid. Went here for a late breakfast today and can't say that I enjoyed the breakfast or the experience. I got the veggie omelette and added broccoli because they ran out of spinach. The Bf for the salsa omelette and found it to be very bland. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I could have made these same dishes at home with more flavor. Service was standard. Okay so we check-in at the desk and they hand a number card, lol it's so I thought we were on a silent bidding auction, lol nah but the food was really good great choices and Homemade pork pull hash!!! So I ordered for a take out instead. It was a bit difficult to find a parking on the street, I had to drive around in circle for about 15 mins to find a parking space. Went here for breakfast with my father the other day before work. The food and service was great so we thought we would go back this morning, again before work. I arrived just before my father so I went in to get a table and place our order to save some time. The woman behind the counter asked if the other person was here yet and I replied, "no he is less than 5 minutes away". She said we can't seat you until everyone is here.... so I looked around the restaurant and saw the entire left half of the restaurant with no one seated so I said, "you really won't seat me? There are all those tables over there and I want to order you won't seat me?" She replied, "no, it's a rule of ours." Never again will I or anyone I'm associated with return this establishment. Half the restaurant is open and you won't seat someone!? Not like I was asking for a table for 10 and I was the only one there.... I was asking for a table for 2 in a half empty restaurant. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for this stupid outdated rule. You're not a fine dining establishment. I was ready to order immediately and continue being a regular patron. I'll take my business elsewhere since Christopher's doesn't think my money is a as green as the next guy. read more
