Established that it would be a wine night for me. We were seated at a center table with our velvet seats pointed at the mostly open kitchen. Big enough of a view to provide some entertainment but not revealing all their secrets! We opted for their eight course experience. It started with complimentary Lambrusco - a sparkling red which was chilled and drank surprisingly light. The first course was a trio of small bites: a sweet pea tart, a radish dipped in herb butter, and a potato gratin topped with black caviar. The funnest bite was the sweet pea tart. I liked how the peas (which are typically overlooked) were elevated and showcased. Radish in butter was interesting contrast between the spicy and bitter vegetable against the rich, creamy, and salty butter. The gratin with caviar was the ritziest bite. The briny caviar flavor popped first followed by a long deep flavor from the salty and savory potato. Second course was a kampachi crudo. It was served in a dashi alongside strawberries and celery. Some the fish was topped with a sliver of bird's eye chili. The combination of the dashi marinated fish with the tiny bit of pepper was one of my favorite bites of the evening. Fish was cut perfectly and had a dreamy texture. The extra flavor from the dashi paired with a small amount of spiciness was an ideal bite for me. Third course was a lobster sabayon - chunks of lobster meat in a citrusy custard like sauce. Each bite started with a slight tang followed by distinctly lobster flavor and was finished by a creamy sweetness. Impressive job of complimenting the lobster without overwhelming it with other flavors. I really enjoyed the delicate balance here and would rank this alongside the crudo as my favorite two bites of the night. Fourth course was a bread service. It was similar plating to the first course where we received a trio of items, but I felt I understood this trio better. On the left was a rustic, dense bread using what I believe was called an ancient grain that was milled upstate. I'm a big fan of pumpernickel and rye breads, so this was right up my alley. Loved the simplicity that highlights the grain. Paired wonderfully with the butter or oil. Also ate great on its own. In the middle was a croissant inspired bread. A folded, layered, and buttered bread with herbs mixed in. The outside was ultra flakey and the inside was soft and airy. It reminded me of a kouign amann which is a croissant adjacent. This was the best executions of the folded and layered technique. On the right was a classic for Italian restaurants in New York City. An ultra savory onion bread. A small version of the bread that I've eaten countless servings; many times spoiling my appetite and leading me to take home more of my entree than anticipated. Joke was on my wife this time. She ordered another serving of the bread service and found herself too full towards the end of the meal. Fifth course was an open ravioli with mushrooms in a light red sauce. It greatly begs the question: is it really a ravioli if it isn't closed? Isn't it a sheet of pasta? Does it matter what we call it? Can we just enjoy the delicious pasta with wonderfully cooked mushrooms in a pool of delicious sauce? With the fifth and sixth courses, the sommelier Ciro (who holds many other responsibilities at Serata as well as the adjoining King Umberto's businesses) recommended a mildly funky white wine. It paired well with the courses and was exactly what I was looking for. Sixth course was halibut and peas enclosed by a ring of piped mashed potatoes and spinach. Halibut was tender and buttery with a seared top. At this point, I transitioned over to a barbera. A familiar wine that I've had several times at the adjacent restaurants. Seventh course was cube a lamb cooked to an idealistic medium rare. It was sous vided to ensure this perfection. It was served alongside white asparagus and truffles. Ciro kindly brought over samples of Châteauneuf-du-Pape which paired wonderfully with the lamb as he suggested. Eighth course was desert. There were two options, so we ordered one of each. One was a layered cookie with fruity components between with a custard or cream in the middle. The other was a biscuit ring with a hazelnut mousse. There was an unexpected ninth course with a tower of sweets. There was a gummy bear, licorice, matcha truffle, chocolate truffle, a mini lobster tail with cream, and a rum soaked ball with a different cream. A fun variety to capitalize a wonderful dinner. We thank the chefs, the attentive waitstaff, and the hosts for a wonderful experience. It offered a lovely romantic and intimate atmosphere providing a brief oasis to us. The hospitality was top tier. The experience was a bit more than $250 per person including taxes and gratuity.

The sausage appeared undercooked, wasn't sliced properly, and was served in large chunks. I work on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city, where a comparable slice costs about $6. Here, I paid $8 for a slice that was bland and lacked flavor. If you're considering dining here, I would recommend spending your hard-earned money elsewhere. Based on my experiences, the food was overpriced, poorly prepared, and simply not worth it.

I was driving so I passed on the alcohol. Then we got our individual pizza set ups and a lesson. It was fun! They gave us some toppings, pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers. We made our pizzas and they took them away to be cooked. We then had a choice of salad, Caesar or house. Everyone liked the salad and the dressings. We got our pizzas back in pizza boxes so we could eat some and take some home. Then they came around with a plate of cookies! The owner came over to talk to us, she said that they were planning to have pasta and mozzarella making in the future and told us about the other events that they have. Live music, bingo etc. She was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Sweet and genuine. She also showed concern about the parking situation and offered a reimbursement for the parking garage. We declined that offer, it was only a couple of dollars for the time that we spent there. If I had to be very picky the only one suggestion that I have would be that they add some basil/ oregano/garlic/pepper to the sauce or on the table, the sauce was very plain. This review is based off the most recent taste of their food that my friends catered. They moved into the neighborhood and hosted a meal from Spaghettini. We tried a bunch of their food, and it did not get a better rating. The best thing I had was definitely the Italian Meatballs, which were tender and quite good. However, the sauce was a bit thin. The Chicken Francaise was pretty decent too, but nothing special. Pizzas were fine, but I did not enjoy the crust on either. Rigatoni w/ Vodka Sauce and Steamed Vegetables were average. The worst was probably the Buffalo Wings. Can't imagine the rest of their menu gets much better, so I'll stick with Taglio nearby.
