Everything abt this location gave me the feeling that i was at a bar in a hicktown in walking dead. It was dead as a door knob and dingy in this place. I saw a bachelorette party run out on their tab and managers chasing after the them, the bartender screaming at everyone in the bar to finish their drinks and get out because she "wanted to go home as much as we wanted to be there"! Given the party running out on their tab, I was thinking lady be nice and appreciative to your guest finishing their drinks and paying their tab. The only good thing I have to say about this place was that our server was pretty nice and legit. she was attentive and friendly but there weren't very many people in here when i visited. This was my second time visiting. Both visit were for lunch and arrival time was about 11:30ish. Parking was not a problem and getting a table was no issue either. There are TV screens everywhere so it would be a great place to come watch a game, no bad seat in the house. Both visits the service was quick and friendly. I had the burger, fries and onion rings. Yes I recommend because they were very good. It was a basic cheese burger and sides. My guest had a stake salad and he also said it was good. Between the two of us including tip was about $40. There was not much for eye candy, but it was during the middle of the day and it is a sports bar, mostly hard legs. I will visit again during the evening time or after work to see the atmosphere. We come here about once a week for happy hour after work and it's mostly good. Games, $2.50 beer- what's not to like? The service can be dicey- it's either great or you are ignored. We continually get a server who puts her hands all over my cup on the mouth of it to ask if I'm done with it Well now that it's completely unsanitary, yeah I'm done. Best Burger in Houston? I disagree, maybe top 5 (out of places I've actually tried) would be more like it. Good quality beef patty, not greasy but still moist and with good flavor. Fries were of the frozen variety, on par with McDonalds. Wife's fish and shrimp combo was also frozen and nothing special at all. I come here often and it's a 50/50 chance that the service is going to be good. I like the food here and it's well priced so I keep coming back but Jesus their service is so inconsistent. There have been at least 2-3 times where I've had to walk out from a waitress not being attentive. I know people get busy but there should be no reason it takes 30 min to give us a menu and get orders. I've had to walk out because of the combination of waiting and having our waitress completely ignore us as she attends every table around us. Although , sometimes we get an awesome waitress who knows what she's doing and how to multitask to make everyone happy. I've never been disappointed with the food here....only the service. read more

Came on a Saturday night and it was not busy at all. We weren't helped to our seats so we just sat wherever. A waitress came and asked for our drink then returned with it and proceed with food. We got the bacon burger and just a small burger. Both came with fries. She forgot the fried egg and to take out the onions for our bacon burger but we let that slide. Food was good. Just burger and fries. We finished it and she was no where to be found. Waited 25 mins for her to finally come so we requested fried oreos and the check to make sure it was faster. To be fair, she was working but got her hands full with more tables than she can handle and the manager was not assisting as well as he should have. Several of the customers there were waiting quite a bit as well. She came out again 10 mins later with our check and fried oreos with a side of melted ice cream. read more

I had to write this review because I felt the current rating is far from what this place deserves. We were helped by a manager, some hot redhead (will have to find her again). She was super friendly and accommodating. We had 50 cent oysters, and man they were huge and fresh. We were later informed that they receive their oysters from the same distributor that HEB buys from. We played darts and listened to some (good and bad.. and worse) karaoke-ing. We sang a little ourselves, too. It was a lot of fun. Just keep in mind that this place is a bar. Don't expect full wait service. The waiters/waitresses have to make their rounds, so they can't constantly be tending to your table like at a restaurant. They will be around, but you gotta grab their attention to let them know you need something. If you just let them know you need something, you will get great service. Our food came out quick, and our waitress came back right away every time we asked for water or lemons or whatever. We've gone back a few times and never had any of the issues other Yelpers described.. Keep an open mind. The food is great and inexpensive. The atmosphere is chill. First of all they were supper understaffed. There was only 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant. Guy behind bat was delivering food and drinks!! Burger was good. Fries were super salty ( like I had to rub them in a napkin before I are them salty) and tasted like they sat under a heat lamp. Not crunchy or soggy more like chewy crunchy. Not my fav. My boyfriend got pork chops and got 3 decent size ones but they were kinda dry. They weren't terrible, but not that great. Jalapeño Mac and cheese was gross do not order. Tasted runny and bland! Except for the proximity to hotels and highways convenience, I tire of this place. Food is mediocre, service is less than that. I've been 3 times and twice the bill was wrong (charging more than ordered, especially from the bar) so ALWAYS check your bill. They got me for $30 worth of beers more than was ordered and I missed it until I was writing my expense report - too late now. Won't be back. So I came back again after such a bad experience. Our waitress Katie was very attentive. We ordered crawfish. It came out really spicy. Normally I can eat it spicy but it was a little too much. Katie notified the manager and they got the problem resolve. Also the crawfish cook made sure the redone batch was good. Their shrimp basket are good!!! I love the batter they use. I can see management is really taking action and doing what they need to improve their service. Once we got the food, it was tasty. I had the fish and shrimp tacos. BUT......DO NOT COME here if you don't have a few hours to eat. We came here for lunch during the work day and had to leave with our food to go because we waited for 1 hour before getting our food. I have been to Christian's Tailgate locations throughout Houston and the food is great. But for some reason, this location doesn't have it together. We are in the energy corridor and most people only have a relatively short amount of time for lunch. There are plenty of other restaurant options that have great food around here and can provide it in a shorter amount of time. I hope they can make a change to this. Stayed nearby at the Wyndham so convenience was priority despite the mixed reviews. We noticed crawfish was offered for the evening so we took 5 pounds of that along with the special of 50 cent oysters for appetizers...Too bad BOTH were delivered at the same time! Do we want ice cold oysters or steaming hot crawfish? Not too pleased with that. Also, our crawfish only came with potatoes, nothing else offered. However, leaving out the door did we notice other tables had corn and mushrooms with their order...that wasn't offered to us at all. Oh well, it's not a crawfish joint but still! Was just told they are closing in 15 minutes at 9:35PM. I asked the bar tender about why he was closing everything up if the website and Google claimed they are open till 12AM every day. He claimed the owners won't change the website and don't care that they are losing customers because they close early... at 9:50PM? Started off with their appetizer samplers, cheese sticks, jalapeño poppers, and taquitos. Afterwards, I had their 16 oz steak with a dos equis. The apps were delicious and had a good crisp to them. The steak was a good cut of meat with a little fat. It was juicy and cooked how I liked. Had to be one of the better steaks I had in a while. They have a special every night and really huge TVs to watch the games. They have a country feel to it with hot waitresses. I think they're known for their burgers, so I'll try them next time. Came here with friends to celebrate my birthday as well as the birthday of another. Two of my friends are from NC one of whom has never been to Texas. We came in and got our drink order taken by the waitress while we looked at the food menu. I come to Houston a lot to visit and Christian's is a must every trip. Diana & JC both always stop by the table or bar to make sure we're having a good visit and that we don't need anything. I've tried the regular burger and the bacon bacon burger, they're both solid choices with regular or sweet potato fries. Mina makes an amazing Bloody Mary & they're only $5 on Sunday's! Beware Friday nights at Christian's Tailgate! Why they insist on piping Karaoke out to their outdoor patio where you can't see the (bad) 'performers' (on stage inside), is beyond comprehension! At an excessively high volume that effectively drowns out all conversation, it's an audio assault that negates any (all?) positive features of an otherwise (potentially) enjoyable evening when wonderful weather encourages outdoor dining. The 'performers' take license to spout f-bombs and scream throughout their renditions of whatever song they're slaughtering which should be sufficient rationale to either retain the noise inside or keep the volume at a reasonable (low) level. But, it's not really a surprise (contrary as it may be to common sense) since management basically ignores their outdoor entertainment area where Inconsistent/sporadic staffing, un-bussed tables and broken chairs suggest its but an after-thought in the first place. The great food and friendly servers can't overcome a setting eclipsed by the cacophony coming through the multitude of speakers. It's truly unfortunate that this environment (completely lacking in 'ambiance') discourages socializing and rather, encourages avoidance on a Friday night. read more

We tried it again the other day............we walk in, and no one greets you with a smile, or helping you to find a seat. Ok, fine. You are on your own. I can deal with that......it is a bar, after all. But is rudeness acceptable? NO, I think not! We look for one, each table we went to was still dirty. They were not wiped clean..... when we actually went to a third table we liked and wanted it wiped down, we tried calling a waitress over, but she simply looked and walked away. Maybe it was not her station........ but still. It is rude service from these inexperienced people. We wait there for 5 minutes, and not one came up to ask for drinks. (as I grab a paper napkin to clean it off). We ended up leaving! I still cannot believe this place has these kind of people who work there. They are rude and mismanaged. Sad.
