Usually the food is great but today I wasn't pleased with our carry out order. We ordered blueberry pancakes and we received regular pancakes with blueberries on the side. It was something my 6 year old was really craving and was very disappointed when she opened her box to find regular pancakes. I could have just made it at home the correct way. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely in the top 5. I had the veggie omelet and the only thing I should have requested was the addition of cheese. This place is very very average. My Benedict came out cold with avocado that was gray inside. The pancakes are bisquick quality with a few things thrown on top. We were told this was one of the best breakfasts in St. Louis. No way. Go to Chicago for breakfast instead. Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe is amazing. read more

Went to Chris's today and we were really disappointed. The service was subpar and impacted our experience. Not sure what is different about their hashbrowns but they used to be the reason we came to Chris's. I asked for them crispy and they somehow had a bit of brown on them but were tasteless mush. My husband's barely looked cooked. Everything seem to come at our table in different stages at the wrong time and by different people. Our waitress was barely available. I ordered a drink with my breakfast I never got and had to get it from the person who dropped the food. Syrup for pancakes never arrived neither did salt and pepper until we flagged someone down to get us some, by that time we were halfway done with her meal. Service was slow and if the waitress checked in on us right after the food was dropped she would have known that we didn't have these necessary items to enjoy our food. I hope Chris's bounces back to the experience that we used to have when it first opened. I used to recommend this place to everyone and now I'm not so sure. On a Covid related note: we paid at the table with a hand held card reader that they input our orders on, there was not any indication that she was cleaning it in between customers. read more

We decided to get something to eat and dine in. We decided to got the Chris. We hadn't been in a while. After arriving with learned that there was a a wait. There were a number of parties ahead if me. They moved fast and got us all in. The staff was friendly. The setting was nice. Our food came quickly but my order was wrong. The HK has 3 options. I ordered mines as a omelet but they brought out the burrito. They took it back and shortly afterwards brought out the corrected order. The guy apologized for the wait. I said no problem as we were in no hurry and said thanks. I don't know but that might have been the best omelet that I have had. Everything was wonderful. I did have to ask my server was a refill. She was courteous and checked on us before we got our food. But after the food she didn't ask if we needed refills. I'm looking forward to returning soon.. I want to try the Breakfast Fried Rice. I was tempted to try it today but I was full. read more

3.7. This is a nice breakfast joint in Downtown St. Louis. I have been here three times, and this was the third time that I got the Tall Stack (3) Pancakes. Sadly, I neglected to take a photograph on my first two visits, so I am finally getting around to my review on visit three. For my first two visits, the pancakes were a solid 4 stars. They had good flavor and texture, and the syrup complemented them nicely. The portion is also generous for $7. Today's order was slightly burned on the bottom and a little tougher to cut, but I won't be too critical because I still enjoyed them. The restaurant is nice on the inside and clean, and my experience with the service has been good. The outdoor booths also are nice. I did not order coffee at this visit, but I like their coffee during my first two visits. If you are looking for a breakfast place Downtown, this is certainly a solid and affordable option! read more

Nicely decorated on the inside with great staff ready to help you. We came during brunch and the wait was only 10 minutes. We ordered the Breakfast fried rice, French toast, grits, and the Rachel sandwich. Everything was spectacular, and we spent around $60. The Breakfast fried rice was packed with flavor and elevated even more with the sweet chili sauce. Perfect combination. The only issue was the egg was a dash over-cooked but had little impact. The French toast was perfect even without syrup. The portion size was nice. Scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy. I added a side of grits and those were definitely a star of the meal. The Rachel breakfast was also very tasty. The sauce was amazing. The hash browns were the perfect amount of crispy but could use a bit of seasoning. Definitely would recommend and looking forward to coming back for lunch. read more

I had the bottomless mimosas for $12 which is the cherry on top!!!!! 1 glass is $6 so you might as well get the bottomless. The atmosphere was soothing for the early morning. This place has the nerve to charge 15% for a take out charge without notifying the customer prior to charging. I didn't realize they charged me this until I looked over my bill because it was higher than anticipated. In addition to the take out order charge, they have the nerve to suggest tip percentages on the bottom of the receipt!! This is crazy!! Neve heard of this in my life! Great breakfast spot. Easy walk from downtown. I got the fried rice breakfast and it was delicious!

We walk past Chris' quite often but never stopped as it always seemed crowded. Went on a Thursday morning for breakfast and got seated immediately. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The Mediterranean omelet was great, maybe a little too much feta but otherwise delicious and flavorful. Hash browns had just the right amount of crispness and moistness, they couldn't be better. Decided to have pancakes instead of toast, but found them a bit tough. Overall a great breakfast and will definitely stop again on a weekday morning. read more

I hate that restaurants get bad reviews for the people they employ. Something needs to be attended to in this location. Maybe the service was poor due to work overload from NCAA. That's what meetings are for, but I'll give them a second shot. read more

The end of Daylight Savings time has created a lot of extra time for me in the mornings this week. I woke up at 4am and didn't arrive at work until 8am. In addition to a variety of other things I decided to get breakfast out downtown and ended up at Chris' @ The Docket. The reviews are quite varied! I walked into an empty restaurant and there was no greeter. After about a minute I saw a woman who turned out to be my server and asked if I should just sit down and her immediate response to my presence was are you picking up a to go order? No I'd actually like to eat here. I ordered the Mediterranean Omelet (spinach, onions, feta cheese & tomatoes) and a side of bacon. I requested no bread or potatoes which both came with the omelet. Food came fairly quickly and the omelet was cooked well, hot, and tasty. The bacon would have been great had it been blotted with a paper towel before it was served but as is it was covered in hot grease. The part that got me was...after the food was delivered I asked for hot sauce and when the server brought back the hot sauce she set the check on the table and said pay me when you're ready. I thought that was really odd. Like why not just say I won't be back ever but flag me down when you want to give me money? That was it. Nothing horrible but nothing great. read more

Food had been ok there; but then went to have snacks and appetizers with my students. We saw mice and were really horrified. We all told people about it and no one seemed to care. Talked into going back a few weeks later for breakfast and ordered an omelet, maybe not surprising it gave me food poisoning. I called several times, hoping to speak to a manager so that others wouldn't be sickened, but again no one cared. After that I refused to eat there again - disgusting ! read more

Holy momma mia. I guess this is the place to go for some serious breakfast options. Yeah I went to town because there were so many different things to choose from. Like seriously there menu just goes & on so it makes it tough to pick. I went w/ pancakes because that's my go to breakfast item as well as hash browns which is a 'build your own' which I haven't seen before. I also got the grits to go w/ it since i don't find that where I'm from in the Northeast. It was too much food & I didn't care since I basically at it all. The place was hopping, the bar area where I was sitting, tables in the restaurant & to go orders, just a constant busy of people in & out. You can always tell that's a good sign, ya know? Assuming those were the locals too which says something in itself. OS whether you're visit like I was or have been in the area all your life, check this place out. The food/beverage options for you & your group are endless, which means something for everyone & that's the way it should be. So glad it was recommended by a hotel employee, as it was pretty damn delicious. read more

Ordered the Waffle plate with bacon and eggs and the Summer Omelet with the bottomless mimosas. The waffle was crispy which is the way I prefer them. The batter had an excellent taste as well. The waffle could've been a little warmer to help melt the butter but the warmed syrup saved the day. The bacon was thick sliced and had a good taste. The scrambled eggs were just scrambled eggs but the omlete was excellent. Instead of the provel cheese I substituted it for feta and it was an excellent choice (I don't like Imo's pizza so the provel was a no). The service was warm and fast from hostess to waitress. I've eaten at this place multiple times and never had any problems also really enjoyed the food. On 10/29 my staff and I order some food to go, buffalo chicken sandwich, chili cheese fries and a turkey burger. I called and explained to the manager that the chicken sandwich was fried too hard and the bun was dried out to the point it was hard. I was initially asked if I'd like to come get another one, i was already 20mins away so I asked could I pick up a different day. He said he'd be refunding me. Loved the Italian Benedict. Homemade focaccia, poached eggs, spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms. Yum! Shared that and Brisket Benedict and would get both again. Brisket is smoked so if you don't want that flavor, about that. I've been a long time fan of the regular and salmon benedicts at Chris' on Southwest for years. Our server was attentive and anticipated drink refills and brought the beautiful tea box for a myriad of hot tea selections. First time to The Docket when not with my tour group in a private room. They make the cut. If you're in jury duty, this is your stop before or for lunch plus anyone downtown. The menu is extensive so there is something for everyone in your party. read more

The food was amazing!! I 110% recommend the French toast, it was so moist and tasty. Wasn't small portion and wasn't huge either, it was a perfect breakfast. I didn't eat all of it because it was so filling! Our hostess, Melody, was the sweetest and warmest person I have ever met. She has such a lovely heart and she has great work ethic. I would avoid this place at all costs. The food is bland and the service has really gone downhill. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:36 am and didn't get out until after 1pm. The restaurant was not crowded and it took ages to get our food. Our server was very inattentive and no where to be found. Friendly staff, quick service, fun atmosphere, and solid food. We can here for breakfast while visiting town for a cardinals game. First time here and their menu is extensive; had lunch with work colleagues where one is retiring in several days. Food is very good. I had the 1/2 Breakfast with one egg, one sausage, hash browns, and two pancakes, and coffee. Chris' at the Docket is a nice departure from the original location. Of course, it's more modern, and up to date. I loved the less cramped space, window seating looking out onto Tucker, and the nicer service wear, napkins, etc. Plus, we walked in at 12:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and were immediately sat. That would never happen at the original location. I expect this will change in the future. I had my usual Chris' Country Omelette, with pancakes. Both items tasted exactly like they do at the original location, which is to say, really good. My honey very much enjoyed her corned beef hash and eggs, as well. The coffee was excellent, too. They have a brick pizza oven held-over from the last iteration of the space, and are now offering breakfast pizzas. I plan on trying one during my next visit. Lastly, the staff was professional, and attentive. I live half-way between both Chris' locations, and it's really nice that the Saracino family has taken a chance on Downtown. I hope that the residents of Downtown and nearby neighborhoods reward the risk they've taken. It's worth every bite. read more
