Chris refuses to take responsibility for the theft of half our kitchen items and box after box of personal sentimental items.

They were hired to move us from one unit to another in our complex by our complex management company! We did miss all kind of valuables during the move. Even the luggages we moved over ourselves were breached and valuables were stolen from those luggages as well. Our complex is otherwise very secure. We were ambushed and robbed as they moved our belongings! They were handling our belongings where no security cameras were present, such as inside elevators and throughout the garage. Was referred to Chris' Moving Men by family friends who had used them in the past for some larger moves. My husband and I needed to move our large items (bed, dresser, loveseat, etc.) pretty quickly our of our current townhome to our new home, and Chris and team were able to accommodate our move on such short notice. Chris was very responsive, calling us with a quote on a Monday morning, and scheduling us for a Saturday move two days later. The amount we paid was actually much less than we were quoted for, and the move itself was completed in less than 3 hours! Chris and his crew were there for me when our family needed them. we needed to move quickly when my sister got a new home in another county and her lease was running out. It was clear that our plan of trying the move ourselves wouldn't get it done in time. I was calling around on a Saturday when most companies are closed. My only issue with this company is the lack of transparency with their fees. When you call them and find out how much they charge, make sure you double the number you think you're gonna pay, then add another $200. I had a total of 12 items to be moved in my unit, i even helped move a good portion of the items. There were 6 items left when i headed to my new location. Hours went by before they arrived with my stuff. My bill over $800, so just keep that number in mind. Even if you make it simple, you're still overpaying. read more

Anyone who has ever sold and bought a new home at the time or moved from one home to another, knows how stressful that can be. Had it not been for Chris' crew, I would be totally insane now. When they arrived I was pulling my hair out because I still had so much left to pack. The lead, Mark, told me not to worry about it, they can just put things in the bottom of the wardrobes, which they supplied free of charge. They immediately began packing things. The movers were amazing and they worked hard to both load and unload all my furniture being careful with all pieces not to break or scratch. The front office seems a bit discombobulated getting the date wrong and general some miscommunication however scheduling did get a little confusing. Funny that I hear Customer Service being thrown around freely by everyone, cause clearly we (the company I work for, an estate sales auction house) didn't experience it. They were unloading possessions from a client's storage unit at our warehouse facility, and I had a specific area for them. Immediately, their employees began speaking Spanish, which I understand, and they said things about myself, our warehouse, and our operations. I kept it professional, up until they decided to leave everything on our loading dock, even after making myself clear where such items should go, they don't follow direction clearly. When one of our associates had trouble moving something, they started laughing, and didn't ask to help. They don't come prepared, so have supplies at the ready, as someone needed a sheet of paper to conduct their business. Our company got a quote for another project, but I forward to reject it, and we're never working with them. read more

I would have loved to give the lead mover - I think his name was Danny 5 stars. He was really great. But most of his crew was awful. One guy broke a potted plant and went to move it anyway with just the dirt and plant in hand. I had met with a man named Frank who gave me a really high estimate to move down the hall , I did some of my own moving and packing to try and get a lower price. What Frank told me they would do like pack the kitchen and then unpack the kitchen they only did the packing. And the packing was poorly done. Things were broken. They also had some popsicles I had in the freezer - it was a hot day and that's fine. But they threw the wrappers and the sticks on my floor of the new unit and left them on the floor of my old unit - like they have no sense to throw garbage in a can ? It's to bad that the lead and one other guy was really helpful. The other 4 ruined me ever suggesting anyone use this company. Although since they didn't do what Frank had told me they did give me a much better price. I would have preferred to compromise and paid a little more to have the job done as it was agreed to. I heard they use to move people a lot here in Marina del Rey but I see why they don't anymore. Well now that I have unpacked almost everything including 1 box I started the packing on and they added to it - I can definitely say not only were they careless and broke my things including an antique miniature screen that was my grand mother's - I now have things like costume jewelry , flashlights that were brand new , batteries ( brand new ) and other things missing. When I had the cleaning people go in - they found lots of pots and pans the movers who were suppose to pack the kitchen left behind. Not to mention I spent a few days running over there grabbing things they just left. I wish I could give them a 1/2 star. 2 stars would be for poor service - people who steal when you're paying and tipping each worker $50 plus paying close to $1400 to move down a hall deserve less then a 1/2 star. Please do yourself a favor and go with anyone but these guys. And please notice they have not one positive review since 2017. read more

I have been dreading moving for a lot of reasons but one of them is how expensive and awful the actual moving companies typically are. I had Frank come over to give us an estimate and to my happy surprise, the movers did the job in less time than budgeted! They were extremely professional, efficient, and nice. They dealt gracefully with my dog and baby and were the first movers I've ever had that all spoke English and didn't smoke. A small table was broken during the move and they are repairing it for us. Found these guys in yelp. They have good reviews and are local so I booked them for my office's move. I wanted them to come in the afternoon but they told me 9:30 is the latest they can come. So we agreed upon a 9:30 time. We got up early and had everything ready by 9:20. 9:40 rolled around I got a phone call telling me that they will be about 20-30 minutes late. No apology whatsoever. When I asked why he told me that he just got in the office and will have to get the truck ready. So I am sitting here waiting and it is now 10 am. Not only am I waiting but the people at my new office are waiting and my assistant is waiting. I paying my employees to wait for this company when we could have arranged for a later time. We had a very good experience with these guys. We didn't move far but we had many valuables that are not easy to replace. The estimate process was simple and fairly quick. Scheduling was convenient. The move was on time and per schedule. All the guys were friendly and cared about our belongings. We moved from a big house to another. A couple of items had minor damage that we didn't even notice. Chris immediately called us to apologize and to let us know that he already started the process to fix them. He even did a search to replace them if needed. Great moving experience! Had to move items from a storage unit, then from my current home to a new home 55 miles away. They came 1/2 hour EARLY. Within 3 hours with two men, we were packed from both the storage unit and house and onto the destination. The two movers were Christian and Rafael. They both had a great attitude and worked fast and efficiently and handled my items with care. I ended up paying LESS than I had predicted. Kiki and his crew did a professional job on both ends. They crated a heavy glass top to dining table and it arrived just like it was shipped out. Our new home has 22 stairs up from the street. I have to say, I was really disappointed with this company. I've used them once before and thought they did a pretty good job. Although it was my first time using a moving company, so I had nothing to compare them to. Jump to a year later, my boss was moving again and so I went to the only company I knew. But this time around I found them lacking in any sort of customer service, not to mention they were much more expensive when I decided to compare with other companies out there. Lastly, I found both their site rep and their receptionist to be extremely snobby. I called the office and made an appointment to have someone come out and give a quote. Also, when I made that appointment, I "held" a date for the move. The receptionist failed to tell me however, that their policy is to not hold any dates. I don't know why she would go ahead and give me June 20 as an available moving date if I wasn't allowed to book that date. It wasn't until later when I called back to inquire, that she told me I did not have a moving date booked and now June 20 was booked. June 20th by the way, was the ONLY day I had available to move!! Back to the overpriced quote. Last time, I paid a little under $1,000 for 3 men to move the entire house. It took them 7 1/2 hours. This time, we were moving the SAME EXACT furniture plus a few added pieces to a house literally just down the street. But the site rep said he would recommend 5 guys at 10 hours to move everything. After some back and forth and me explaining to him that it was the SAME stuff as before, he refused to budge on his quote ($2500!!!!!!!). Also, as a part of the 10 hours, he put 30 minutes in there as driving time. 30 minutes to drive SIX houses down? Anyway, most importantly when I called Chris' back to ask one more time that they just give me 3, maybe 4 guys and if it takes more time, so be it, we'll pay the extra, they said no. When I said I might have to go to another company the receptionist was more than happy to get rid of me. Some way to fight for your customers. Needless to say if they don't want my business then I have no reason to give it to them. I hate to say I'm right (ok maybe it gives me pleasure), but when I hired LA Moving Company, well.....it took them 8 hours exactly for $1200. I found LA Moving Company to be courteous, professional, extremely easy to deal with, no quote involved which saved me time, and much cheaper! They're movers were better than Chris' too! They were extremely upbeat and friendly and they worked fast. My advice? Just go with LA Moving Company. Don't bother with anyone else. read more

I recently had to move three large piece of furniture out of a storage facility. Chris' Moving Men did a FANTASTIC job! They sent Kiki and Adan to do the job. They were very fast moving the furniture quickly without damaging anything. These were antique pieces and I was very happy they knew how to move them efficiently. Chris and his Moving Men saved me a ton of money... When we sold our LA condo this Spring I only had a few days to get our furniture out. 6 of the 7 van line agents said they could not do it, with backlogs ranging from 2 to 6 weeks. The 7th agent could do it but quoted me $15,000 to move a 1 br condo a 1,000 miles. That included $3,000 to crate a fragile piece. Crazy. That's when I called Chris. He was able to get everything out the day I needed. His crew did a fantastic job with the mirror cartons and the pad and shrink wrapping - Jose in particular was super quick yet careful. They brought masonite sheets to protect the hardwood floors. All the items were placed into "vaults" at their storage facility. With the urgent need to empty the condo now gone, Chris researched 3 different methods to deliver to our new place. We could do a van line, use "pods", or "lift vans". He priced and explained each option. I then picked the "lift van" method since it was the cheapest for the size and weight. His crew rearranged all the items, from the vaults into the smaller "lift vans", packing them tightly so nothing would move. Chris had it all arranged, with the freight company picking up the lift vans and a local agent to unload and unbox everything at the destination. I could even track the truck's progress online. Final cost was just $7,000, and that fragile piece made it undamaged along with the rest. read more

The 6 men were on time, prepared to move me safely during the pandemic closures, and took special care of my antiques and art.
