You can eat in McLean for less than $10? Healthy even? Stopped in here for a quick lunch of a Mexican Caesar salad (not, not Ceasar), which, with water, didn't even set me back a Hamilton. The salad was whipped up nice and fast, with the option at the end to have it sliced/diced as fine as necessary for one's satisfaction, the first time I've had such an option, and one can also dictate how much dressing to apply. (The correct amount, at least with Caesar dressing: "more, please".) Service is friendly and quick, and the price can't be beat. Now, Chopt, please open another franchise, in Reston near my office, please, and I'll be a regular. read more

The salads are good but certainly not worth $17.00 for a small salad with tomato, chicken, avocado, hearts of palm and feta. I probably will not be coming back anytime soon. We have been ordering salads from Chopt McLean since they first arrived to the neighborhood. Most times our order has been correct, sometimes not. It's our realization that mistakes happen but the mistakes need to be pointed out as well. The mistakes in the past have been rectified but there was no happy conclusion to today's incident. We placed 4 orders via the Chopt app for pick up in the store. It was realized that one of the orders was missing a salad dressing and I promptly called and spoke with the manager, Kavir. He asked the man that prepped my salad and was told that the dressing was added to the order on the side. So, it was my word against his. Kavir informed me he didn't know who to believe but this time he'd side with me. He also added that in the past there have been issues with our orders, thus making him believe that we might be looking for "freebies". Unbelievable! All I wanted was the salad dressing that didn't come with my salad. Is this customer service?? I've contacted their online customer service site and hope to get actual customer service. Until then I/we refuse to give our business to Chopt. There are too many other salad shops out there to be subjected to Kavir's insinuations. read more

Takeout order: My problem is that I didn't get all the ingredients I ordered when placing the order online, but was charged for them. This is the third time this has happened at this Chopt restaurant. This time I was missing three items... the avocado, beets, and edamame. Ends up being a lot of lettuce, but not much else. Full disclosure- I am a picky eater. I really hate to admit it, but it's true. For lunch today, I ordered the California Steakhouse salad with Feta and croutons. It comes with spicy peppers and charred onions, sounded great. But when I saw them... they were the wet peppers... the soft ones... and the onions were black (makes sense.. charred..). I drove to work with the salad bag next to me.. dreading it. "Oh no.. I made the wrong choice. What will I eat if I don't like it.. aghhhhhh!!!" First bite... amazing. The dressing is so good. The steak great. Strange to get so excited over a salad... but creative salad company this place is! Honestly, all the flavors came together so well. Wow! John today had great customer service! I've been coming to Chopt for a while and John is by far the best! I don't eat meat and he offered to substitute the meat with another protein. It was my first time trying the Tex Mex BBQ bowl and he allowed me to taste the dressing, rather than assuming it was what I wanted. I've ordered online from this location a couple of times. I'm not sure if they were trying to prank me or what, but what I received when my food was delivered was a joke. Both times, I ordered a custom salad. The first time, they gave me two, separate plastic bowls. One bowl had all the various toppings and the second was just a bowl of lettuce. I guess they thought I wanted to DIY mix my salad. My second time ordering from them they just gave me a bowl of toppings. There were no greens. It is literally impossible to order a salad without greens online. You can't submit the order without selecting greens. Won't be ordering from this location again. read more

Never had a bad experience. The Chop't concept is interesting. It's also pretty healthy. Lines at lunch can be long, but they move customers through quick. It's efficient. quality of ingredients is great. But TWICE NOW in the past month they have revised their menu and portion size. they used to have a greek goddess salad that included olives and two small scoops of lentil/millet blend. They changed the greek goddess to the 'spicy santorini' but the only difference is no olives (which they now charge extra for). Even only a week ago they used to provide two small scoops of the lentil/millet blend. Now only one! This is NOT cool. Yes the food quality and taste are great. But they are short changing their repeat customers (new customers won't know any better) by reducing the quantity AND dropping ingredients that were previously 'included'. They have a nice selection of different salads and toppings. They chop up all the ingredients right in front of you and then they put your choice of dressing or the dressing that is included in your salad combination. This place is fabulous! I am so glad I had lunch here after a message nearby. It's like cold stone ice cream but with salad. They give plenty of greens and they have good selection of beverage. Whoa. Two bad experiences in a row . . . . on the first trip, when the salad was all chopped up, the server put a spicy dressing which was not my order. I stopped her mid-pour, but instead of insisting on a re-do, I just rolled with it and went with my dressing. Not a good experience. But a little on me. Today, we go for the Kail Caesar, again invest the 5-8 minutes for all the chopping and when done the server announces that they've run completely out of Caesar dressing. Huh? It's 1pm. There's none in the back? "No, we're out. It's really popular." Huh? Maybe you ought to make more of it, then. So here's a second salad where we get a tiny bit (end of the bottle) of the dressing and are told "sorry, that's it." Really no pride in the salad. Then we ask about the signature, pancake-like bread. "Oh we've changed that for the better. Here you go" and we get a stale piece of bread that's been pre-bagged and sitting out who knows how long (there's a stack of 40 of these by the cash register). What the . . . ? I love the Chop't concept. I love the Chopt Po'Boy with Bacon Russian dressing. I have probably eaten 100x at the 13th Street NW Wash DC store. I have NEVER had a problem at this downtown store. They always have a great attitude and they make it happen. I mean NEVER. But this McLean location is just off. It's like some franchisee who doesn't care. I don't know why the store cannot measure up. HELP. Please send someone from the DC location to kick things in the tail . . . . .This is a two-star decline from the summer. And we are dying for good healthy food in McLean. But you have to make good on what you promise to sell. read more

I gave Chopt a second try and it was much better this time around. The first time I tried it I ordered the Mexican Cesar Salad which I didn't like at all because it didn't have much flavor surprisingly and I didn't enjoy the bread it came with. I still really think that they should switch the type of bread they use. This time I ordered the Mediterranean bowl which was actually quite delicious! Great menu with lots of variety. A little bit pricey but worth it. They make the salad in front of you and they're very fast. Lots of options and they provide the calorie nutritional information for each one. Very friendly and efficient staff. I'd just about given up on McLean in terms of getting a good, healthy meal at a reasonable price. Glad I found this cool place tucked right next door to Total Wine. I wasn't aware of the Chop't concept, but it really works. We enjoyed our Classic Cobb and Texas Po'Boy salads. The thing about eating salads as an entree is that I'm usually hungry a few hours later, but these salads were more than hefty enough to keep me going. The ingredients were fresh and the salads, delicious. The staff at the McLean Chop't are really nice, and the prices reasonable. Can't wait to come back. read more

Great service and tasty salads! My go to is the chicken tinga. I am not a big kale or quinoa person but find myself loving it in the chicken tinga! Unfortunately, they sometimes run out of the chicken for it at this location. This used to be my go-to place for salad. I was in the McLean, VA store 3 times a week (at least). No more. Lately, the salads have not been made according to directions. It is almost like some of the summer help does not quite know the ingredient list for the various specialty salads. Today I ordered a chicken tinga salad. When I got back to my office, there was no chicken on the salad. This was the grossest concoction I have ever tasted. It wound up being rice, quirted with salad dressing, the smallest amount of kale I have ever seen, some black beans, cheese, crushed tortillas 1 sliver of avocado and more dressing squirted on the top. Without the spicy chicken to cut the dressing, it was just nasty. The server put the bread directly on top of the salad (in the dressing he has just squirted on it) so the bread was soggy by the time I got back to my office so that got tossed as well. I haven't been to Chopt in many years and when I used to go regularly, it was in DC. Back then, I liked it. It was decent. Today's visit was to the McLean location for lunch, and it was fantastic. There were so many more choices and the decor/layout was inviting. The lady who took my order was so helpful. She helped me personalize my order and suggested appropriate substitutions. She warmed me about the recommended dressing being a bit spicy. Upon tasting, she was right. She recommended another delicious dressing. My warm grain bowl was really good. read more

A little bit pricy for a salad but a ton of food, just don't ever order through an online app. I ordered through the chopt app 45 minutes before it was supposed to be ready and when I got there nothing had been made whatsoever. When I asked about it the guy behind the counter rudely said "yeah we'll get to it" after it was already 10 minutes after the guaranteed time (50 minutes from ordering). My first experience was very confusing at first obviously because the menu is very diverse but thats a good thing. U can get a healthy salad or a fulfilling loaded with protein kinda salad, either or a very good place to kill ur hunger. The staff were very patience, they let me take my time to decide and also helped me with it. While i was leaving i wanted to try their fresh-made drinks so i asked for a curtesy cup but they gave me a free medium drink!! I love Chop't in Mclean! I seriously go there at least two or three times a week! All the salad ingredients are always fresh and I am always greeted with a smile! The portions are so big that I can always have more than one meal. The Manager Robin is especially sweet and makes sure everything is spotless! I am so glad I found them!! There is always an issue here. Today I had to wait about 15 minutes to get a salad. There were about 15 people in line. The food bin area was filthy. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the salad still tastes good. They need to hire more people and a better manager. I work in the food service industry and if this happened where I work heads would roll. The chopt in Vienna never has this problem. A MUCH better managed store I guess. read more
