    Orange chicken and fried rice

This was my first time ever eating here and it will be my last. The orange chicken was excellent, however, this rice was horrible. It was dry, it had no flavor or taste. It tasted like old stale rice that was sat out for a few days and reheated. AND!! The price was $11 and some change. Definitely not worth it.

So I hate Chinese food but I do like other Asian cuisines so when I saw they have tons of teriyaki options, I decided to try it. I mean where else in this mall could I possibly eat, McDonald's? I think not. What makes Chopsticks Express stand out from other mall eateries is that everything is cooked to order. The food is not sitting around in vats a la Panda Express; it's thrown on the grill out front when you order. This could potentially make for a long wait if others have ordered ahead of you. I got the #4, which is chicken and shrimp teriyaki. The portions of both were generous and were tasty with white rice and stir fry noodles (you can pick your 2 sides). I also liked the cream cheese and crab wontons as they add some crunch to the entree. There's plenty of Siriacha and other condiments to spice up your meal. Lastly the prices are great. My chicken and shrimp teriyaki was only about $6.50!

This is a store front restaurant located inside Francis Scott Key Mall across from Orange Julius.

But why show up for the food if you can't even get a table!! But I was extremely disappointed with their reservation system. I had put in a request for a reservation more than 24 hrs before the intended time and while yes I never received a "confirmation" and on the email it does say "this is not a confirmation", however, I have never had such a poor reservation system experience with any other restaurant. I had shown up in to the restaurant in the bitter cold and paid for parking only to find that they never confirmed the reservation on their end. SMH. And was an hour wait....EXACTLY why I wanted to make a reservation to avoid all of this. Moral of the story, don't trust their reservation system, if you want a table.

My vegetarian kiddo recently ordered the veggie bento box and was delightfully blown away by it. Her favorite dish was the tofu with peanut sauce. She said the peanut sauce had spice but wasn't too spicy (she's 12). The ginger dressing for the salad was really good, too. The spring rolls weren't a favorite, but they're a nice textural contrast. So, even if you're not in the mood for ramen, you should still stop by. Service has never been disappointing. Our most recent visit was fantastic, as always. I do recommend a reservation if you plan to dine during a common meal time. They get busy fast!

New favorite spot in Frederick alert??…read more We have always had a soft spot for Asian fusion, especially Thai fusion, and this place did not disappoint! From the decor to the food, I was so thoroughly impressed with the experience. For appetizer we got the Massamun potstickers, and I got the Garlic Crispy Chicken rice bowl. David got the Supreme Noodle. Massamun Potstickers: Crispy on the outside, plenty of massamun curry sauce to dip the potstickers in. Only wish that there was a little more filling on the inside of the potstickers. Save the sauce if you get a rice bowl so that it doesn't go to waste! Garlic Crispy Chicken Bowl: This came LOADED with deliciously saucy yet crispy chicken bites layered with a spicy mayo sauce and sides of cucumber and carrots. There was a TON of rice too, perhaps too much but not a complaint. For $17 this was a pretty good deal. I love a good mix of soup and rice so with my leftover rice I had some of David's soup that came with the Supreme Noodles! Supreme Noodles: Portion was a bit small for $22 and wish there was more protein, but still so good. The honey roasted pork was surprisingly tender and not dry at all (I was thinking it would be like a hard/dry pork but it was saucy and flavorful!). You can pour the side soup inside or have separately, very yummy! Wish we had room for dessert (they had a Thai tea cheesecake that I am dying to try). Also see lots of people getting the Chor Muang dumplings so will have to try those next time too (our server confirmed those were popular).

The miso soup is the best assemblage of flavor I have tasted, and I have had my share of miso soups over the years. Miso soups I have had over the years only had small pieces of tofu, a sprinkle of green scallions in blond miso with a sprinkle of dried seaweed. The Bloom miso soup had assorted mushrooms, like enoki and shiitake, and a good portion as well, silken tofu, scallions, and big flakes of wakame seaweed. The crunchy tempura soft shell crab bao bun is a must try as well. It comes with fries and salad. Good eats!

The inside is super cute with plants on the wall, and they also have a few outdoor tables. We went on a Saturday night around 7:30 and didn't have to wait at all. They only serve beer and wine, just something to keep in mind. The appetizers were great, and the sushi came out perfectly. Highly recommend getting the "Ring of Fire" -- it literally comes out on fire and tastes amazing. The only small hiccup was that I didn't get the miso soup I ordered, but I didn't realize until the bill came. Our server apologized and took it off right away, which we appreciated. We'll definitely be back, especially to check out their happy hour prices!

We were immediately sat and placed an order for Bao buns. These were very good - only the "meat marinade sauce" on these - usually there is a mayo type as well. An order comes with 3 just as a heads up. We also ordered two rolls: Poseidon and Fire. They were both fried rolls but very good. The fire ball one is served with a liquor that is lit on fire which is cool - but it leaves behind an off-putting taste afterwards. Poseidon was very good with shrimp and crab and served with spicy mayo. For my main entree - I got the pork tonkotsu ramen. Standard - it was good and it comes with a full egg rather than one half like many other places. Our server was very good and attentive. Overall a solid meal and a must-try if you're a fan of Asian cuisine.

I liked the addition of panko breadcrumbs for crunch, but I wish the imitation crab meat had been shredded more finely for better texture. For my entree, I ordered the Spicy Basil Crispy Duck (added $1 for Thai spicy). They definitely delivered on the spicy level, but the duck itself was not crispy. It came with rice and bell peppers and basil. The sushi tasted fresh, which was good. Service could use some improvement. We had to ask for small bowls for soy sauce, and when we requested a dessert menu to celebrate the birthday, we were told the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had given us a heads up before the kitchen closed. The ambiance is cozy. It almost feels like dining in someone's house. They had Halloween decorations up and murals of historic Frederick painted on the walls. They also have a private parking lot, which made it convenient. Overall, food was good, but a little more attentiveness from the staff would've made the experience even better.

At one point my mouth was doing things I probably shouldn't describe in a public review. We did order for delivery, which disappointed us because it never showed up. BUT, i called the restaurant and it was ready for pick up. They quickly resolved that i had paid online and i was good to go at pick up. Easy peasy and with a smile. Okay, let's talk food! I will start with, the fish is impossibly fresh, the rolls are balanced perfectly, and every single piece feels like it was crafted with obsessive attention. No throwaway bites. No filler. Just straight-up sushi perfection. Here's the real kicker: we live part-time in Kauai, a place that technically has a slight advantage when it comes to seafood given its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, and Kyo still wins our hearts when it comes to sushi. That's saying something. So if you're looking for perfection in every bite, grab your person and get your ass over to Kyo. You will not be disappointed.
