I came here again, no notes, look at my past reviews. It's a solid hot pot spot, may I say the best Chinese ayce spot on the island. They closed down due to ward village, but they have another location in waikiki

Ample delicious ayce food! Soup broths are good too! Service was attentive. We were able to have a private room. The restaurant is like a Chinese restaurant, lots of chatter, in a good way. Free parking at Ward!

This is one of my favorite hotpot places on island! Very good selection of Chinese hotpot items and it's nice to sample different items we've never had before. The broths we got (herbal, spicy, numbing, and tom yum) all had good flavor. Service was great too with refilling drinks and water. Taking off a star for the meat quality, it was decent but the beef belly was more fat than meat. Will definitely be coming again.

Hot pot has been one of my top cravings lately and even during my trip to Hawaii I had to have it. I stumbled upon this spot on Yelp and love doing ayce hot pot as it always is more worth it for my boyfriend and I. This place was very spacious and had no wait at all on a Saturday night. I love Chinese hot pot broth and enjoy mixing the herbal broth with a little bit of spicy broth. Most ayce places allow a mixture of both free of charge but this place charges $5. Both broths lacked flavor, even when mixed together which was disappointing. However, they had a pretty large variety of add ons which I enjoyed. You can order some of them with the server but majority of the ones I liked were next to the sauce bar. My favorites included the fish ball with roe, bean curd, and the meats. Service was pretty good here and they were attentive to all of our needs. My favorite part of this place was that they had such good unlimited drink options. The coconut juice in the can is one of my favorites on the island and their wintermelon tea is to die for. The perfect amount of sweetness and I would come back just for this drink. Overall, not the best ayce spot but it's one of the few they have here on the island.

This is hands down my favorite all you can eat Chinese hot pot spot. The spicy marrow and original marrow broths are insanely flavorful. The spicy one has that legit Szechuan kick without overpowering everything. Supreme beef and short plate beef are my go to meats and the portions are huge, which I love. The bean curds and enoki mushrooms pair perfectly with the broth, and there are so many options to choose from. Service is fast and attentive, and the sauce bar is top tier with tons of combinations. This place is perfect for big groups since the restaurant is spacious, clean, and modern. Overall a must if you love hot pot and want to leave very full and very happy.

AYCE option- comes with 3 rounds of ordering. Fountain drinks are included. Start off by choosing a broth in your personal pot. I really like the house made original. With each round you can pick vegetables, noodles, meats, seafood, and other items to put in your broth. They also have a sauce station to customize for your dipping. There is also kimchi and seaweed to pick at. The restaurant sees both locals and tourists, but it does get crowded. The wait time is sometimes over an hour long. Make sure you go early enough to get your full share!

We tried Chong Qing Hot Pot last night since the cold weather had us craving something warm and comforting, and hot pot sounded perfect. Starting off, things were great. We went as a party of three on a Friday night around 6:30pm with no reservation and were seated in under 5 minutes, which was awesome. Parking is super convenient since you can use the Ward parking structure nearby. Once seated, utensils were ready for us and ordering was simple -- you order off a paper in three rounds. It's $38.99 per person for AYCE. The food itself was the highlight. The soup bases were flavorful, the meat quality was solid, and everything from our first round came out quickly. Definitely satisfying and exactly what we were craving. Service and consistency is where things fell short. Drinks weren't offered when we first sat down and we had to place a drink order after our soup and first round of meat arrived. We also never received any refills. On top of that, we ordered a lot of veggies and sides during rounds two and three, but about half of those items never made it to the table. The sauce bar could've been cleaner too -- a few of the dishes looked a bit dirty. Overall, the food quality is there, but the service and follow-through need improvement to match the price point. I'd consider coming back for the flavors, just hoping for a smoother experience next time.

Broth was amazing. I got the spicy cabbage broth and my friend got the spicy beef broth. The spicy cabbage broth tasted lighter compared to the spicy beef. The veggies were fresh and the meats were great as well. Definitely recommend the lunch all you can eat rather than the dinner because of less people and no wait time!

    Visited again with some friends!

The service is always fast and the food plating are very clean. Most busy AYCE places like these would always have such a dirty interior and slippery floors, but this place was so nice and clean. I love the variety of options they have for soup and meat! The food is of great quality and tastes fresh. The sauce bar is awesome, too! My favorite hot pot place in Hawaii by far!

Came here as was craving hot pot. I haven't been to this place since it was Little Sheep many years ago. Layout is the same with new branding for new restaurant name. Went a little after opening on Saturday and there were only a few other groups there (~5) so the restaurant was quiet. The server quickly came to serve soft drinks (included with the AYCE) and then we ordered our first round. The order came out within minutes! We went to the sauce bar to get our sauces. Lots of options. They also have shrimp chips, cut fruit, kimchi, and some other sides. Meat was good and so were the veggies. Everything was fresh. The broth: The server informed that we could do individual pots or share a large one. We chose to share so we could have two kinds of soups. The original was super good and was nice and light. The spicy had a good flavor in the beginning, but as it kept boiling, the chilies inside became more and more cooked, which turned the broth a little bitter towards the end. Overall, would come back the next time i'm craving hot pot as it was just as good as I remember it!

When I checked in, no one told me that I needed to check in again after another party arrived. Since I provided my phone number, I reasonably expected that any important instructions or updates would be sent by text. Instead, I suddenly received a text saying that my name had been removed from the waiting list. I immediately rushed to the front desk, where the young hostess gave me an unfriendly look and spoke to me as though the situation was my fault. She insisted that I should have checked in again, even though that requirement had never been explained. If the restaurant can text customers to say they've been removed from the list, why couldn't they simply send a text asking me to return to the front desk when my reserve time comes? After I questioned the process, she spoke with another staff member, who then told us to wait about five more minutes before seating us. That made it seem like our table was actually available, and the entire situation could have been avoided with clear communication. The waiting list process was confusing, and the front desk staff's attitude was unprofessional. Good customer service starts with clear instructions and respectful communication, especially when the misunderstanding is caused by the restaurant's own process. Personally, I won't be returning. I realize Shabuya is one of the few shabu-shabu restaurants in the Ala Moana area, so my review may not matter much to them, but I hope they improve their customer service and waiting list procedures for future guests.

If you come with a big appetite, you might spend more than you would at AYCE, but the meats and vegetables here are very high quality. The broths that we tried were all very tasty - the Chinese Sauerkraut Soup is very unique - definitely sour but not unpleasantly so. The spicy soups have a strong mala flavor that will make your tongue and lips numb, but be careful, the "Hale Medium Spicy Soup" is already pretty spicy, and the "Hale Spicy Soup" is very spicy! Everyone gets their own pot and soup here, so you can order to your own spice level. We got a half yard of the beef toro which was nice and fatty as well as a half yard of the beef shank which was much leaner. Ordering both gave a nice balance between the meats. The seafood and vegetable sets are also well thought out, but you can always order individual items if you don't want everything in the set. There is no sauce bar - your soup comes with a choice of dipping sauce instead. It's usually not too crowded and the service is friendly and efficient. You pick your broth and meats up front, then head to the refrigerators in back for the rest, which makes the whole meal feel more practical than theatrical. The room is no-frills, the service is solid without being especially warm, and the BYOB policy fits the place better than any design effort would have The draw is still the broth. The beef broth really does drink like pho broth, and the restaurant's own menu more or less admits that by calling it a favorite for pho lovers. The tom yum has real sharpness and stays lively through the meal. The meat selection is broader than the room suggests, with ribeye, short rib, lamb, pork belly, pork shoulder, tripe, and tendon all on the menu. The vegetable and noodle selection is also better than average: bok choy, choi sum, ong choy, watercress, taro, lotus root, bamboo shoot, enoki, king oyster, fresh saimin, udon, glass noodle, vermicelli, and pho noodle, among others What holds it at 4 stars is that the math can get a little awkward. It is not expensive plate by plate, but somehow the total often lands near all-you-can-eat territory, except without the same range. Although if you were to ask my wife, this a solid 5 star place. Still, that misses why people come here. This place feels built around broth first, not abundance for its own sake, and that makes it easier to forgive a sauce station that is merely fine and a service style that does the job without much flourish
