I don't enjoy using this app to complain, but this has happened more than once with Chom and I needed to share. Chom has great food but very irresponsible service. I ordered a simple delivery that I only received half of. Then when our Dash driver went back to receive the rest of the order, Chom refused to give him the rest of our food claiming that they had put everything in our when they hadn't. I ordered the green chili burger & my husband got the garlic burger. The beef tastes like something you would pick up at the dollar tree. The garlic burger has a fried egg on it that completely drowns out any sort of garlic flavor - should be renamed something along the lines of breakfast. The fries were fresh & crispy, but very very salty. At the beginning of the meal we were considering that we might go back if our friends wanted to go or something, but by the end we had changed our minds. No recommendations here. read more

I'm really bummed to be giving Chom a 3 star review because it used to my absolute favorite burger spot in Utah county. Unfortunately, I've not been super impressed with some changes with the menu. When they stopped using the rolls from Provo Bakery as buns and changed them to more of a ciabatta bun, I felt like the overall quality went down. Because I don't like the new buns, I've ordered a few burgers wrapped in lettuce and in doing so, I realized that the meat alone doesn't have a lot of flavor. They got rid of the best shake of all time (salted caramel biscoff) and service is typically slow and orders are frequently gotten wrong. It's still a fun spot to go every once in a while, but the changes are so disappointing! read more

I was super interested in the menu....its not that big but definitely better than the in/out burger. the patrons seem to narrate out loud what is on the menu, while sitting in their seats waiting for their food I think that they decided to drop a dollar or two off the menu prices. I'm not sure, but I had gotten a 7$ burger and theres a 4$ upgrade option for fries and drink, which I didn't get. so they have a yum all day breakfast menu....and those sandwiches are around 4$ each...and mine was delicious, I would say better than the combo add-on. read more

I ordered on-line and arrived at the appointed time only to find that the only two employees on site huddled in the back on their phones. After a 4 minute wait, I grabbed their attention and they decided to start my order. The place was almost empty (on a Monday at 2pm.) so I know they weren't 'back-up with orders'. I continued to watch as they slowly went about getting my burger and fries ready. The final foul however was when the employee doing the fries handled the iPad register with the same gloves that he then used on my french fries. It was disgusting. He had been touching the fridge, freezer and ipad and then moved right to my food, violating several health codes along the way. The burgers are great, but the place is dirty and clearly they need to train their employees, enforce basic food handling standards and they need a 'grown up adult' Manager on site. I used to come here when it was a Mexican joint. Pretty cool they left a little slot on the wall to see the mural. Was not impressed at all though with the food. Some people call it average, I think that's an honest description, but I think my avg burger has a higher standard. So I couldn't give it 3 stars. I came hungry and curious to try a new place in town. Got the Garlic Aioli Burger and the Chom burger, both i felt were like any other burger I'd get at carnival or some county fair. Fresh food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. I had them hold the sauces and not grill the bun. It was really great. The bun was soft and super fresh. My wife had the green chili avocado burger and she loved it. My daughter and son both got the BBQ burger and thought it was great. I tasted my daughter's Oreo shake and it was tasty. I did the same on my son's chocolate shake and I'm craving one now. They make it with chocolate shavings. The sweet potato fries were awesome. They carry both Pepsi and Coke products. The restaurant was fairly clean but some of the tables had leftover crumbs on them and could be wiped down. You order at the counter and find a seat. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. I'd give it 5 stars if the tables had been cleaner, other than that it was great. read more

CHOM might have good food but their customer service is significantly lacking . It was so bad I would give zero stars if i could! We placed an online order and arrived 15 minutes before the time it was supposed to be ready. 15 minutes after the time our order was supposed to be ready we were told our food hadn't even been started. We asked for a refund and the manager wouldn't come talk to us but told another employee he'd refund us later tonight. We requested to speak to him and when he came over was extremely rude, full of excuses and said he had no control over the website orders. We left with him saying he wouldn't refund us until later tonight. I guess we'll see if we get our money back. Third visit to Chom, definitely my favorite burger place in Utah County. Have a friend with you who needs to eat something like salad instead of a burger? Their salads are also delicious. Each burger I've tried is excellent. Cooked to perfection. I've had the CHOM, green chile, and bleu bacon - so good! I'm confident trying a new burger every visit because each new experience has been satisfying. The buns are from Shirley's, and so soft - perfect pillow to the burger! The fries are just the right crispy and fluffy, not greasy. The shakes are well worth the price - but I would say I would love a smaller size for a bit less because I never finish mine. I don't love going to the heart of Provo to get there, but I will do it for Chom. read more

My first exposure to Chom was from someone telling me that it is just like Shake Shack (closest location in Las Vegas). Heck, even the Chom sign on the front looks like Shake Shack's sign! I went and was disappointed. The food isn't bad. It's not great. It's good. To me, the burgers aren't good enough at a price point low enough for Chom to come up in my burger cravings list. The prices are a little high in my opinion. Since my first visit, I've been back several times for Yelp events, to use gift cards gifted to us, and to try new milkshakes. Their milkshakes are good as well. I've had the grasshopper, cookies and cream, and the holiday peppermint flavors. With exception to the peppermint flavor, I've enjoyed their shakes. In summary, Chom is good not great. Their prices are a little high for the flavor. Again, let me clarify. I'll pay more for a burger no problem. However, I think a higher price point should be justified by a better burger. A perfect example for me is Cubby's. Anyway, you won't be disappointed with anything there, but nothing is a standout. 6/10 will try again. read more

Chom Burger is a great place for lunch if you want to spend a lot of money on small hamburgers. With that being said, despite their size, they are very tasty. Their Chicken Cobb salad was also very tasty and fresh however, its size was comparable to a side salad at any other restaurant. For almost $10 you didn't get much. I will say, their sweet potato fires are some of the best fries I've ever had. Seems like a good place for a shake and fries! I'd recommend the taste but not the price. read more

We love CHOM! Very good burgers. They are flavorful and they aren't enormous so they aren't heavy and they don't leave you feeling uncomfortable after you're done. The fries are perfectly crispy. The only negatives I have to say about this place is 1) their chicken strips. We came here with our friend and he brought his little girl. He ordered her the chicken strips and all it was was basically a chicken breast cut into strips. No breading or anything. Kids don't eat that. 2) parking is pretty rough so you have to park in the back which is kind of an inconvenience. Don't park in the lot across the street or you will get booted. I'm super bummed to have to give them two stars, but I am just not into Chom. I've been twice now, and both times I've been bummed by the food. (Note: The regular potato fries are the notable exception. They were salty and tasty.) The biggest issue by far is the patty. All four hamburger patties I've seen/tasted personally were puck-like. Tough, dry, thin, and overcooked. The bun is soft and fine. The toppings were okay (though my fried onion ring pieces were burnt and dry and they refrigerate their tomatoes, which makes them cafeteria like). But the patty is so small! It is not juicy, tender, or delicious. I cannot recommend it. I would not spend money on it. I talked to the manager about the food, and he said that they are really trying to compete with fast food places, that low-cost and quick-service are things they've prioritized over taste. He actually said that to me. Which is fine in theory, but that puts him in competition with places like Wendy's and McDonald's. Those chains are DEFINITELY faster service-wise (Chom gives a buzzer to tell you when your food is ready, which is all by itself a sign that it won't be super fast). The chains have easier/more parking and drive throughs. And though their food is hyper engineered, it tastes better (in a weird, non-food way). I mean, the fast food chain food doesn't taste GOOD, but the patties are at least moist. If you threw chain fast food patties against a wall, there's a chance they would splatter a little. The ones I've had at Chom would not. I asked the executive chef about the dry patties, and he said that they're so small that they are easy to overcook. And that that overcooking sometimes happens when the restaurant is busy (which is what a quick service restaurant should be, right?). He would increase the size of the patty, he said, but that would raise costs, and he wants to keep the burger cheap. Personally, I don't think an overcooked $7 burger is cheap or worth it. Based on my experiences at Chom, I would not spend money on a burger there. I would go to Five Guys or Smashburger or pray for a Shake Shack (please bless!) to come soon. Here's the thing with the shakes--the three I've tried have been fine texture wise. Thick, fine. My husband has loved the two strawberry ones he's gotten (I liked them just fine). But the chocolate PB one is made with a vanilla base and chocolate syrup. !!! That makes it way, way, way not chocolatey enough for me. It doesn't taste like a chocolate shake. It tastes like a vanilla shake with chocolate syrup in it. The executive chef told me that they did that because it was cheaper than buying a chocolate base. But I think it is a mistake. I want my chocolate PB to be CHOCOLATEY, not like homemade chocolate milk with not enough Hershey's syrup in it. Also, the PB they use is crunchy, which I like in general. But in this shake, however much they put in does not provide enough peanut butter taste (I want ribbons of peanut butter in my shake, and/or a strong PB taste). And, instead, is just an uncomfortable texture of the occasional peanut. So the whole shake together is like milk with faint chocolate flavor and the texture of small peanut chunks. At least for me. I did not like it, and neither my husband nor I wanted to finish it. (Also, the executive chef clarified that, despite what the employees say, they do NOT get their ice cream from Rockwell Creamery. Rather, Chom buys its ice cream base from the same place that Rockwell Creamery buys its ice cream base.) The sweet potato fries are fine. They are bought from Sysco (the manager told me), but they taste like good shoestring sweet potato fries. I didn't try the grilled chicken salad, but the woman next to me did and she said the chicken had the texture of tofu. Also, the executive chef clarified that the chicken is not grilled--it's prepped sous vide (in a bag immersed in water) and then cooked on the flat top to give it a little color and warmth. I love the design of Chom. It's pretty. I love the vibe. I like the location. Heaven knows Provo could use a really good burger place. But the aura of Chom is "really delicious burgers and shakes," while the actual concept of Chom (according to the executive chef) is "fast and sort of on the cheaper end of expensive." Came here for the first time the other day. I saw they had a thing to fill out for birthdays and made a comment that it was my birthday a few days ago. The guy at the counter said if I showed him my ID he'd give me a free shake, and he did! The burger was super good. I really liked the Chom Sauce. The vanilla shake was good but not great. Really wanted to like this place because we heard such good things about it but I just couldn't. Food is ok, but definitely not the best burger I've had. Probably not even in the top 10. It was pretty bland, nothing special. The sweet potato fries are good but the portions are TINY. My husband and I got a large to split and it was more like a single serving portion. But the big turn off (besides messing up both of our orders) was my bottom bun being soaked in raw meat juice. Not sure what happened but it was a big turn off made it difficult to enjoy the rest of my food. When we went to ask for a new one the worker was rude and not at all sympathetic.
