At first I was hesitant since I had been going to Topline nails for some time, and don't get me wrong, their good but can get a bit pricey for me. So to my surprise Kenny didn't do acrylics but only gel on your natural nails, but I was OK with it since I knew my nails needed a break. She was super friendly and genuine and i fell in love :) That was two years ago and the rest is history! Now Kenny is the only one I go to and it never fails, every time I get my nails done I get so many compliments. I love how she cares for my nails and since she started my nails have grown so much! She always creates such a fun, friendly, and chill vibe that I always look forward to seeing her every time! She has been my go to nail artist for over a year now. I love her attention to detail and the her willingness to pivot if needed (which hardly happens!) so much as well. It truly makes me feel like she cares about the clients' happiness unlike those other nail artists who tend to rush you. I used to have anxiety from getting my nails done because my hands tend to be very shaky but she is kind, patient, and understanding when working on me. I once ended up ripping my whole pinky nail off (eww I know) but Cat was super reassuring and provided nail growth tips to guide me through the healing process ! She's also transitioned me from acrylic to builder gel and I swear I'm never going back. Instead of aggressively drilling down or yanking my old set off, he removed them with so much care, which I really appreciated. He gave me the exact shape I asked for, and although my design was simple, the execution was flawless. The quality of his work speaks for itself. My nails never feel bulky or overly thick, and they really take their time to make sure the shape and overall look are perfect. They're also both super easy to talk to and make the whole appointment feel like you're just getting your nails done by your home girl. Why I Loved Downey Nails & Lashes and Why I Won't Be Back…read more I've been coming here for several months, maybe close to a year. The receptionists are always friendly, I'm usually seen quickly, and the prices are affordable compared with other salons I've visited. On a previous visit, a technician even mixed two colors to help me get the shade I wanted. That kind of care kept me coming back. Today I came in for a builder gel fill and a pedicure. I had a Pinterest photo of the light, milky, almost translucent brown I wanted. I couldn't find anything close in the color books, and the shades suggested to me were very different. The pedicure technician brought several more books and opened them on my lap, but one of my hands was being worked on while the other needed to go into the UV light. I couldn't turn the pages easily. They kept asking if I'd chosen a color, and I felt so rushed that I finally picked a random brown for my toes. I'd also asked for my longer nails to be shortened and shaped to match one I'd broken. When I noticed the builder gel was pink, I said I wanted clear so I could wear a nearly translucent color. The technician assured me it would be fine and continued. I had to ask more than once for the longer nails to be filed to match the broken one. With the pink gel underneath, I ended up choosing dark brown for my hands instead of the light color I'd wanted. At checkout, I explained what happened and asked to pay to have my toes changed to match my hands. The owner came over promptly and kindly said he'd cover it since I'd just had the pedicure. I appreciated that. But the same technician did the color change, applying the dark brown over the polish already on my toes. She made comments about how I'd originally wanted a lighter color. By then, I just wanted to leave. I've had mostly good experiences here. I even returned after earlier visits when two technicians cut my toes and another cut my hand, because I understand mistakes happen. Today was different because I felt rushed, unheard, and like I was bothering them by asking for help. I left frustrated when getting my nails done is usually a chance to feel pampered. You may have a different experience, but I wanted to share mine. It's the reason I won't be back.

My rating is strictly for gel x application and overall salon experience, not the nail design I was…read moreunsatisfied with because that is mostly on me. Came here to get short almond gel x nails with a French tip design for my wedding nails. I showed inspo pics and requested that the white not be super stark white compared to the pink. My nail tech started off with a thicker French tip to cover the natural nail peeking out under the gel tip. However that did not fit my vision so I asked for a thinner tip. She did mention that you would be able to see the natural nail under the tip and I said it was ok. I realized after I got home that the pink base coat was essentially clear and the natural nail showed in an obvious way in photos even though I thought it looked ok in person. I did not bring this up to the salon because I figured I just chose the wrong design and decided to just go somewhere else to just get a solid color all over. While getting my polish changed at the other salon, the nail tech noticed that my cuticles were completely covered in gel and had to take an extra 10-15 mins just drilling all the gel off my cuticles otherwise it wouldn't have grown out smoothly. She also fixed the nail shape because it was super pointy for almond in my opinion. My reason for my rating is because gel is not good to constantly get on skin. I did notice my original tech at moongirlnails used a brush to wipe off the gel after each tip application which I didn't love since other places I've been to have known how much gel to apply to avoid overflow. Using excess glue and going back to clean up is not good technique in my opinion. And seeing that the excess was not even fully wiped off and left on my cuticles, I cannot in good faith recommend this salon if you want to avoid developing a gel allergy.
