Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. Although they were all good, my personal favorite was the lychee rose followed by the mango sticky rice. I liked the lychee pieces in the lychee rose gelato. We had such an amazing time on Lake Travis thanks to Willo and Float On. Everything about the…read moreexperience was extremely streamlined from booking to filling out waivers to navigating to the marina. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

We were stressed, scrambling to get everything together, and honestly weren't sure if we'd even be able to make it happen. Then we found Shoreline Boat Rentals, and Captain Dave completely saved the day. From the beginning until the moment we said goodbye, Dave's customer service was second to none. Even with such short notice, he had the yacht cleaned, prepped, and ready to go. When we arrived, he had a checklist ready to make sure we didn't forget anything in our vehicles before we left the dock. It sounds simple, but when you're trying to organize a bachelor party, little things like that make a huge difference. He took all the stress off our shoulders so we could focus on having fun. The yacht itself was absolutely beautiful--honestly, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's even more impressive in person, and it was spotless from front to back. What impressed me most was Dave's attention to detail. I needed a screwdriver to fix one of our water guns, and before I knew it, Dave showed up with one and even fixed it for me. That's the kind of customer service you just don't see very often. Once we got to Devil's Cove, Dave went above and beyond. He helped grill burgers, made sure everyone had food, drinks, and plenty of ice, and kept checking in to make sure everyone was having a great time. It honestly felt like his mission was to take all the thinking out of the day so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves--and he absolutely accomplished that. Safety was also a top priority. Before we left the dock, Dave clearly explained the rules while the boat was underway and while it was anchored. Everything was straightforward, easy to understand, and he made sure everyone stayed safe without taking away from the fun. Pulling into Devil's Cove was one of the highlights of the day. We cruised in with the music playing, the yacht looked incredible, and it definitely turned some heads to get the attention we wanted! It made for an unforgettable bachelor party. Captain Dave didn't just provide a yacht--he created an experience. He turned what could have been a stressful, last-minute situation into one of the best days we've had together. 10/10 across the board: customer service, professionalism, cleanliness, safety, and the overall experience. Golden Eye is named after the golden eye flower (perennial flower with a sunflowerish look). I tried one of their samples...so smooth and creamy unlike any traditional chocolate I have ever tasted. So, I bought six chocolates. They are a little pricey at $20 given their small size, however, a nice Father's day treat. This chocolate is quite unique with flavors like matcha latte, malted grackle, blood and honey and spiced chai. Also, the owner uses items that are unique to Austin such as the golden eye flower, chocolate sunflower and fruit bats. I also like that some of the chocolate is sourced from Venezuela, Tanzania, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic (DR). I tasted DR chocolate for the first time in November when on a cruise and it was absolutely delicious. In addition to selling chocolate pieces, they sell candy bars and coffee. Service was excellent. I learned the chocolates are made in south Austin and transported to the north location. In addition, I learned the owner is a pro nature and that's why she chose the name golden eye after the flower. The shop is small with no seating indoor or outdoor. Adds an especially nice touch to a family only party during the pandemic. They deliver, have great customer service, and love that we are supporting a local, woman owned business. Use them, you won't regret it.

Me and one of my besties have had Michelle make 2 cakes for us for our dear friend Nakia (yes, THAT Nakia) for his annual birthday bash at The Saxon Pub, which was on 02/22/13 this year. Last year, the 1st time we used Michelle, we gave her an idea we had and she just ran with it - she ended up making a beautiful white cake with strawberry filling that had the 1st 6 music notes to Happy Birthday to You across the top with a little 3-D gum paste figure of Nakia singing into a microphone. I posted pictures of the 1st cake he got from me and my bestie Susan that he was so totally blown away with. (He still has the gum paste likeness in his freezer.) This year I sent her a picture of his new fan-financed CD, Drowning In The Crimson Tide, and had asked her to incorporate the CD cover onto the cake. She kept me abreast of what she was doing and when she delivered the cake at The Saxon Pub, it was nothing short of AMAZING!!! She made a cake with a bottom ring on top of a mirror with a "crimson tide" going around the sides with a top tier that she painted to look like Nakia's CD cover. And to top it all off, the top tier of the cake rotated! she totally outdid herself with this over-the-top cake and Nakia really LOVED it. I told her that she can expect an order for a cake for his birthday every year from now on. I have also received birthday cakes made by Michelle for my last 3 birthdays - the 1st one was of a 2-D white baby tiger, the 2nd one was of Hello Kitty's head and this last one was of a red, white and blue Japanese dragon in honor of my Ameerican and Japanese heritage. Even the eyes were of my eye color (hazel) and the detail was totally outstanding! I have had nothing but wonderful cakes made by Michelle. Like Emily J said, she WILL work with you and it does not matter when the event is, she will accommodate you the best she can. I have 2 more cake orders that she will be filling for me - I can't wait to see what these Lavish Cakes & Catering creations will look like. :-)

Everyone was very impressed with the cake - all our guests loved the way it looked and the way it tasted. It is such a relief to have a bakery we can use for quality, attractive cakes at a very reasonable price. For our wedding, we wanted things very simple and that is again what we wanted for our baby shower. Lavish Cakes honored our wishes without any attempt to talk us into a 6-tier fondant covered monstrosity. Of course if that is what you want, I am sure they could make a gorgeous cake for you! We have found that a lot of bakeries don't want to work with folks who want simple, good cakes but that is not the case with Lavish Cakes & Catering. They are professional and high-quality.
