My son treated me to breakfast, it was my first time eating at a restaurant in town since moving to the wonderful state of Texas. Super cute and quaint environment. We both had the breakfast buffet. Eggs, bacon, sausage, links, hash brown, biscuits n gravy, cinnamon rolls and fresh fruits. It was amazing! I haven't had biscuits and gravy for years and oh my goodness... it was pure heaven. Food is top notch home cooking, we go on ribeye and shrimp nights(Saturday) the steaks are great and the shrimp isn't that small crappy bland shrimp, it is the large white colossal shrimp that you get at "overpriced high end" restaurants. Service is phenomenal very friendly servers, never is my drink empty. The restaurant is in awesome typical small Texas town building with a hometown diner feel. This place is so perfect for the locals. They have a proper sized menu for their capacity (so many restaurants bite off more than they can chew and the quality suffers) and do a lunch buffet which they switch up. Locals in the area know they can come in and have a quick, delicious lunch (full of options) with the buffet or order off the menu. My first time I ordered the Philly cheese steak wrap (wasn't great) but the second time I got a salad with grilled chicken and that was delicious. I can see why they're busy. We've been coming here for over 5 years and over the last year we've watched a steady decline in food quality and service. Today was the icing on the cake for me. My daughter ordered a waffle and then we ordered our food. Our food arrived w/o her waffle, we attempted to get the waitresses attention but she was too busy. We started eating and shared our food with our daughter, then we noticed the waitress going for the waffle. She pulled it out and it was burnt. So she started another, by the time the waffle made it to the table my daughter was full. Our sides of sausage were cold and she brought white toast instead of wheat. When I got to the register I told her to take off the waffle, but she didn't and I wasn't going to make a scene. So we left and will unfortunately not return. Wondered on over to this local spot found via Yelp. Got greeted right away by a very sweet lady who took our drink order as soon as we were seated. Didn't try the lunch buffet because it didn't look very fresh, then again, it was closer to the end of lunch hours so it might be worth a try. After reviewing the menu, I decided on a grilled chicken club and my bf got the BLT. They both came with tater tots or fries. The sandwiches were good but the bacon was way over cooked on both of our sandwiches . I have always had luck with the weekend buffets that are offered; however, my go-to is the patty melt. It's been consistently delicious! The taco salad is more like nachos and the salsa is probably poured from a bottle of Pace. A homemade salsa could elevate this simple dish to something better. Food is good it's like your small town family restaurant, have lunch buffet and Saturday buffet and have been told they have one Friday nights to but have not been in for that. Now one thing i absolutely hate about this place they have a smoking section right next to the restrooms. Hopefully Godley will eventually have a smoking ordinance or the restaurant will move the smoking section away from restrooms so people that don't smoke will not have to walk through it. read more

Upon walking in we were greeted immediately by the friendly owner. We arrived just in time for the lunch buffet. The buffet was clean and the food was fresh. As we stacked our plates with food, the waitress got our drink orders and had them waiting for us as we sat down at the table. The sweet tea was unrivaled by any tea that I have had before. This place can be very good or very bad. It usually has a buffet and when that is going don't order off the menu because it's like the cook left. The buffet is pretty haphazard with only 2 or 3 things actually tasting good. This is sad because it's pretty pricey. read more
