Stopped in for a late lunch got 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals and 2 beers. Total came to $175. Only after I paid and said that doesn't seem any where close to what is should be did the waitress say that isn't correct. Second time bringing the check out was wrong, third time was the charm. $100 overcharge on our bill. Honest mistake but how do you not realize $175 for this doesn't seem right until after my credit card is charged and I am the one that brings it up. It was not busy at all. Won't be back. On a rainy day during our visit to the Florida panhandle, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Chiringo while browsing Yelp for a place to grab tacos. The location of Chiringo could not be more perfect as we were on our way to a nearby brewery. There was a wait for a table, but plenty of space at the bar, so we opted to sit there as they offer full service. Our server was Adrian. He was the best! Super friendly. Attentive. And knowledgeable. He talked us through his beer menu so that we could make a selection that we'd like. I loved that they offered both 16 and 24 ounce pours. For lunch we started out with chips and salsa, which were really great! Highly recommend this appetizer if you're a fan of super chunky salsa. The big bites of fresh tomato were amazingly flavorful. We each got two tacos. The tacos were served in two different styles - cabo which has Cabbage, avocado, cilantro, radish, jalapeño aioli and a squeeze of lime and baja which had Arugula, red cabbage, pickled onions, and chipotle crema topped with fresh jalapeños. The sauces on each taco really stood out and were a great addition to the taco. Definitely suggest the fish option. Because when in Florida! The vibe in Chiringo is really hip. The space is painted bold, loud colors. I loved the surfing gear everywhere. It was beach-tastic without being cheap or cheesy. Felt like a cool place to be a regular if you're from the area. Only reason I deducted a star is because $9 for a small fish taco with 2 oz of fish on it is nuts. Tacos were good but not great. Guacamole also good. Fish platter portion very small - less than what came on two tacos. Service - didn't check on us for refills or after serving. We had to go get silverware and find waitress for napkins and refills. Bad attitude from waitress also. We were one of two tables being served upstairs. The other table also had to find the waitress. The food was super yummy and high quality. We loved the fish and shrimp baskets! We got our food to-go but it came out in regular baskets so we just went to the beach with it and dropped the baskets off afterwards. Super convenient and fairly priced in the area! The only drawback is a rowdy crowd seems to camp out there, so if that's your scene you'll enjoy it, but if you find it a bit obnoxious, you may want to go somewhere more quiet. read more

The food on the other hand wasn't as great to me as the reviews made them out to be. I got the shrimp and there just seemed to be no flavor. Also thought there would be more shrimp for almost $20. The drink had fresh juice which I enjoyed. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. Definitely a "get off the beach to eat and go back" vibe. I was unapologetically too busy eating delicious food to take a picture. My group ordered tacos; blackened and fried chicken, fish(mahi) and shrimp(blackened). Shrimp was the groups favorite, though we really enjoyed them all. I also had the Grayton bowl with the pulled pork which was an awesome and wholesome meal. The toppings, especially the fried plantain and cilantro sauce, were 10/10. The bowl was flavorful and had plenty of food. I will definitely be coming back when I'm visiting the area again. One down side is the space inside is kinda tight and limited. But if you are less than 5 people or just going for mostly drinks it's a great energy and vibe. They offer fresh squeezed juice which I appreciate. I got pineapple and it was delicious. We ordered chips and salsa for appetizer but they forgot it and brought it with the meals instead. I ordered Caribbean wings on a whim and they were FANTASTIC. Some of the best I've had. Fried shrimp was great, perfect for a basket. Pros- the view. Sunset is wonderful. Cons - the food and drinks. We were attracted to the on line photos of the food. The location, just off the beach, sells itself. The food pics promised fresh fish and tasty tacos. The reality we found was much different. Started with the chips and guacamole. Strongly suspect the underwhelming guacamole was store bought. Pretty bland and industrial tasting. The chicken wings were rubbery and lukewarm, not worth the effort to gnaw on. The real disappointment was the gulf shrimp. Not sure if they were frozen or just dumped out of a bag but they were not good. Left the majority of our food, untouched, in the baskets. Servers didn't even question us about how it was. Best move. Upon entry, we were surprised to find that there was no host and no one leading us to a table. Eventually the bartender informed us that the seating was first come first serve and that we order at the bar. Very informal. You find a seating vacant place the. You go order from the bar then you are given a number post. It feels like a bar that added dine in as an afterthought . We sat outside then the cats started coming under the table and roaming between us. Some of my family members have cat allergy. We then moved stairs in a vacant floor and by end of our meal a cat came up too. Although the food is 5 start, a star deducted for the service and seating arrangement and the cats situation. Back to the food: We started off with the blackened shrimp nachos, the Caribbean wings, and the seasonal rosemary lemon wings. The nachos were amazing and the wings were well seasoned and flavorful. We ordered the shrimp basket and fish basket with fries, the fish sandwich with rice and beans, and the blackened fish tacos with plantains. Everything was great: the fried fish and shrimp were light and crispy, the tacos fresh, and the fries were addicting. Even the rice and beans as well as the plantains were perfect. Lastly, the we ordered the key lime pie for dessert, which was also tangy and sweet. FANTASTIC! My only regret is that we waited until the last day of our vacation to come here. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is exactly what comes to mind when you think of a local beach spot and the prices are better than most on 30A. With four people in our party, we tried a lot of the menu and nothing disappointed! The snapper dip was a great start and the gluten free options were impressive. How often do you find a bar with gluten free fried shrimp or chicken fingers? It was evident the food is made in house from scratch and everything is well thought out. Lovely and quiet Grayton Beach is home to this small quaint bar and restaurant. Quiet because it is really off season? We stopped by for an early dinner and a cocktail. Very nice and responsive wait staff and the whole place was wide open even though it was chilly! Lots of heaters kept us toasty. We went for the shrimp basket and fries along with chips and guacamole. The shrimp was delicious and fries were plentiful and hot. Guacamole was very fresh and chips were well seasoned. Beach Blonde beer (local) was good and the margarita was pretty good (didn't knox my socks off - but a hearty portion of tequila). What I loved the best was that the whole experience reminded me of an older and slower paced Florida. read more

came to Chiringo the other night to watch the Alabama game our server was very sweet to us. but at the end the manager was not nice to my friend. my friend tried to pay for her food but the card ended up declining.. at the end of the night when they were closing my friend went back to try to fix it and the manager asked how she wanted to pay the rest and she said i can venmo you the money but that wasn't good enough for him. Celiac disease and must eat gluten free. It takes some fun out of a vacation. I must say: WOW! A must go if you are in the area. Just about everything on the menu is GF other than the obvious flour tortillas and Mac and cheese. The chicken tenders are GF and were awesome. The fries were so amazing we downed a second basket. Make sure to try the chicken wings too. My daughter and I are both celiac and neither felt a hint of symptoms. Make sure you plan ahead if you go. Make a reservation and plan on the parking situation is rough. They were crazy busy and seemed under staffed. However, every person we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. read more
