This was my second time visiting this place and let's just say my first experience was nothing like the first! Let's dive in. Location: The location is NOT where the GPS leads you. You had to go to the corner and make a right. It's about half way down the block. So be aware. Atmosphere: The place looks neat and pretty clean for a car repair center. No one is still wearing a mask. Just nasty and unsanitary. Experience: Please be aware - if you are going through insurance and do not have StateFarm they WILL require you to pay out of pocket regardless of them going through insurance. This is horrible! They want you to do the back and forth and come out of pocket. My repair was a hefty $821 and I had to pay out of pocket. In fact, Jessica insisted I pay a deposit and tried to get me to pay a restocking fee because I advised her that my insurance was in network and they said I only had to pay my $250 deductible. Then my glass did not have the strips of tape to hold molding in place so I don't know if the job was complete or not. Definitely a poor experience this go around and hopefully I never have to visit again. read more

Way cheaper than Safelite! I paid $85 for my windshield repair. They guarantee that if it cracks in the same place within a year, they'll take off $85 from a windshield replacement, which is around $320. The only frustrating thing was they let me book an appointment over the phone for 8:00 am on a Monday morning, but the glass doesn't get there until later. So if I had had to replace my windshield, I would've had to sit there for longer. Luckily, it only needed repair. Service was quick! read more

After finding out my windshield had been damaged in shipment, I was mildly upset last weekend. However, the gentleman who was at the shop when I arrived was extremely professional and apologetic for everything. Being closed on Monday he promised he would have one of his mobile vans come by my work and get it fixed on Tuesday and made sure I was compensated for the inconvenience. My car was broken into and of course it was a Sunday evening so nothing was open. Called around first thing Monday and they were able to get me in same day. The service was affordable ($200.99) and they were quick - I only had to wait an hour. They did a great job replacing the window. Hopefully I won't be back anytime soon but I would highly recommend! We were told on the phone that our job would take about two hours. We left after 1 hr and 20 minutes when our car had not been touched yet. I definitely think they are good for window replacements, just can't speak for their window tint since we were ignored once we checked in. read more

Excellent service! Excellent, quality job! My tech initially called me to schedule, but it was raining & I didn't have covered parking so my windshield could dry out. He said he was happy to do it in the rain, but it wouldn't be a quality he would be happy with - it would have a "milky" look trapped in the chip. I agreed to wait. About 1.5 hrs later, it stopped raining. Alan called me to say he would be happy to come out since the rain stopped. He could get the glass dried out and I would be happy with the quality. Initially I got my repair in 2018 after my window got smashed into. I paid 170 and then I was told the window they sold me was "curved" and I wouldn't be able to roll it down. Well obviously you need a window that rolls down. The man said he would have Sharon look for a replacement glass, THIS WAS THE ONLY REASON I LET THEM KEEP THE MONEY FOR THE JOB, because to my understanding they would be looking for a window. 2 years went by. I waited, emailed, called, gone into the office. No help. Finally I go in last week Sharon says they'll fix it. Then when I leave she calls me to ask what tint my window is. She says we're good then calls me back again and says there's no window available, I need to check eBay or pull a parts. I call customer service, they say there is a window they don't know why she told me there's no window. I go in today to get this window put in and immediately Sharon says she doesn't know why I'm here there's wasn't a window for my car. I explained that someone found one. I sit there for two hours. They install the new window and say my windows are functioning. The motor is old but the mechanic little says it's going faster than the others anyways. Then I get in my car and drive away and the window doesn't roll up, they want 285 dollars to fix the motor. So now I have paid 170 for the initial repair + 100 for today's labor and the window doesn't even roll down. 270 for a window repair. They"Sharon wanted to charge me an extra 80$ for the part when I already paid for the original window that they had said they would replace for me. *I had spoken to Jessica about not paying for the part since I already paid for the original part, a part they ordered that was defective. I could hear Sharon in the other room angrily saying no NO about not charging me for the part. Then I receive a call and Sharon is claiming they already gave me my money back. Jessica then says she can see where the refund was voided and not given to me. So overall. Sharon is NOT helpful. You'll pay more then you could other places and waste time and money. Would not recommend Update the motor is not even broken. They just didn't do the repair correctly. I had another mechanic check it and it is now working fine Another update when I finally was able to contact the owner of the business even though I had requested to a week beforehand and was rerouted to someone other than the owner, he didn't want to issue a refund unless he could talk to the mechanic who had to fix the issue his technicians created in the first place. He even went as far as to say he felt like he would be getting scammed if I did not pay for this job. Even though I told him it was done incorrectly. I came in here with a smashed in window. The disconnected the regulator and installed a curved window. I come back in PAY AGAIN for them to fix the mistake they made. It still wasn't fixed. I go somewhere else where they say again the window is not connected correctly to the regulator. And then the owner got upset that I didn't come back to his establishment to get it fixed. And before speaking to him I was not offered to even come back and have it looked at, I had even told the lady I did not feel comfortable coming back because of the poor customer service and poor results I was given. If they mess up your job they will not take accountability for it. They will call you a scammer. Be ware of going here. read more

This is my second time using Lightning Auto Glass in Chamblee. The short version: The technician broke a lot of parts, didn't tell me or the management, lied about it and then got an attitude when I pointed it out. The long version: I visited to get my windshield replaced, I had the lady at the front notate to have the technician come and get me when they go to move the car as it has an aftermarket shifter that operates differently than a stock vehicle. When she told the techs, it's a small place so you can hear them, the tech said "I've driven a manual before I don't need to ask" she came back to tell me they are moving the car. I went outside and he could not get it into reverse, he kept pulling forward in the parking space, almost hitting the concrete parking block. Once they got done with the car they asked for payment before handing over the keys, which is totally normal practice. I went outside to inspect the work before paying and immediately saw that it was not reassembled correctly. Another technician came out to see what I was seeing and he agreed that it wasn't right and handed the original technician parts he left in the engine bay that he didn't put back on the car when he "reassembled" it. They pulled it around back again for the original technician to "fix" it. The first time the problems were: Driver side A Pillar cover out of alignment Roof molding not reattached Driver and passenger side Wiper Cowling not attached Cowling molding not reattached Bottom windshield retainer broken into two pieces Both Wiper Arm Covers broken Both Wiper Arm nut washers not reinstalled. Once they brought it out the second time I looked it over with both technicians. He ended up breaking the cowling under both wiper blades, lost the washers for the wiper arm nuts, broke the covers for the wiper arm nuts, and broke the windshield bottom retainer in half when cutting out the original windshield. When I showed him that none of it was clipped in place and secure and the tabs where broken he said " it isn't visible so it doesn't matter" and then admitted to reinstalling the broken part on the windshield that I couldn't see. I told him it does matter because all of those things are structural and most import they where not broken before he touched it. He got a very bad attitude and said "I don't own the place so I couldn't care less" as he stormed off. The second technician Wayne(sorry if I spelled it wrong) witnessed all of this and was very professional, and controlled the situation very very well. Once he called Jessica, the sales rep, and told her what was going on she said they would call the dealership and order new parts to be installed at a later time. My point to Jessica and the manager (who was nowhere to be found): When they wanted to check me out nobody mentioned anything about parts being broken. Had I not checked it I would have just driven off not knowing anything was wrong until it was too late. How many non car or mechanical customers come here and get the same results unknowingly? The only reason the tech came clean is because I called him out on it and he still tried to deny it. She assured me that that wasn't the normal and it would be discussed with the technician. She said another technician would work on my car when I returned to replace the broken parts. I refused the offer and insisted I'd do it myself with the parts they ordered. I asked for a discount on the replacement and she said we don't do that here, it will be full price, but we are ordering you new parts. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. I spend 2.5 hrs there the first time and then had to leave work early to pick up my parts a few days later since they close at 5pm. read more

We were given a quote of $265 to tint my car, at drop off they changed it to $300 then 2 hours later i get a call changing it to $400 AFTER they started so just taking my business elsewhere wasn't a option. We ended up partially tinting the back window to keep the price down but quotes shouldn't be given over the phone if this is how they do business. Take your Tesla elsewhere Edited to add: the manager John did reach out to me and offer to refund $35 bringing the price back down to the original quoted price, after some thought and reading another review where Walter seemed to have the same issue, same day-i have decided to not accept the money in exchange for editing my review due to moral reasons, it won't make the manager approved phone call to change my price from $300 to $400 after starting the job okay. My rear driver door window shattered late on a Saturday. I immediately searched for the best auto glass repair around, I called Lightning, Safelite and Gerber all of which were closed but could provide online estimates. Safelite wanted 309, Gerber and Lightning 165. Lightning called me first thing Monday morning and got me in by 11am. Gerber couldn't see me until Tuesday afternoon. Once I got there, I was greeted by a tech and processed quickly. I sat in and waited for the repair. I watched the technician complete the job from the window. They even vacuumed out my old broken glass. All of the staff both inside and out were all very courteous and best of all the job only took 30 minutes! It's happened a million times. I'm driving along the highway when suddenly, out of nowhere, a small rock or pebble slams into the windshield. Sometimes I swear it's so loud it actually sounds like a gunshot! Thankfully, it has always wound up doing no damage, and I manage to somehow "dodge the bullet" (pun intended). Last week was different. I was driving along the highway when suddenly, something slammed into my windshield...and sounded like Armageddon. I could hear some glass break, and knew this probably wasn't going to end as well. Later, when I inspected my car, I found a penny sized area of broken glass located on the outside of the glass. I began conducting a lot of research since this was a new problem I have never had to deal with prior to this incident. It turns out dealerships don't typically repair windshields and windows. It is usually performed by a third party. Occasionally, there are dealers that will have a third party come to the dealership to make the repairs but even this is quite rare. Lightning Auto Glass was highly recommended by Audi, who has been using them for years. I also found out that other high end car dealers such as Porsche also regularly refer their customers to them. I decided to use these guys and am absolutely thrilled with the results! Heads up: Auto insurance plans will often cover broken windshields and windows under the comprehensive insurance portion of your policy. In many cases, this will not adversely impact your insurance premiums but make sure to clarify this with your specific insurance company. These guys are da bomb. They obtained OEM original equipment glass from Audi the very next day. They are true pros, and skillfully replaced the windshield within about 45 minutes and had me on my way. In many cases they will also give you the option of coming to your location and replacing the windshield off site. The windshield repair is guaranteed for life!! I had the opportunity to speak with Jon, who is one of the owners. He told me that they have been in business since 1999 and specialize in working on higher end cars. They have many accounts throughout Atlanta and are definitely strategically located on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Really helpful staff and affordable pricing. Had my rear glass damaged due to broken door hinge and when I called they gave me an estimate that beat dealership deals. Once I arrived friendly staff took my car in and didn't take them but 1hr 30min to do the repairs. Now my glass looks like new and they even gave me some suggestions to clean up my temporary patch I did using a garbage bag and duct tape. Great install. the Tech warned me not to close the side windows in order to prevent over pressurization on the main windshield. i guess the glue is pretty sensitive for a couple of days. if it is raining and you have to close your side windows, just be careful. read more

Lightning Auto Glass did an awesome job replacing the windshield on my 2015 Toyota Camry. After a battle with a rock on 285, I was left with a chip and spidering on my windshield that couldn't be replaced. I called several places and finally tried the Toyota dealer who stated that Lightning does all of their work. They were $140 cheaper than SafeLite and almost half the price of Abra. I called on a Friday afternoon and they were able to schedule an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Actually, if I was able to drive to Chamblee to the main location, they would have done it that same day. It would have been too much to drive to Chamblee on a Friday afternoon so I kept the morning appointment. They gave me a window of 9-11 on Monday morning. They arrived at my house at 9:30 and were done by a little bit after 10:00. Really courteous staff and sent me an email receipt. Went in for an emergency back windshield repair on my Chrysler 300 because they were next to my job, got the car back few hrs later and all the glass weather stripping was rippled.. they gave me the excuse that the "sun will fix it" & that it was how they got it (even though they have heat guns that do the same thing) didn't correct itself obviously & all my trunk waterproofing was tore and not properly installed back so I got water in my trunk after a car wash. pay the extra $25-50 elsewhere if you can read more

So glad I found Lightning Auto Glass. My windshield had a tennis ball sized crack in the corner from some road debris, so it needed to be replaced. I went to Lightning on a recommendation from the service manager at the dealership where I get most of the work done on my van. The glass shop's call center will take appointment requests 24/7. They called back when they said they would, and I was able to get an appointment right away. I had the work done at their location in Chamblee. I was in and out in one hour. They filed insurance for me, so all I had to do was pay my deductible. They were friendly to deal with. There was one problem with the installation, which was that the wire to my bluetooth microphone got damaged in the process. The first thing the Lightning people said was, "We're not responsible for any aftermarket products you have installed." So I was prepared to have to argue with them about it. But despite their initial statement, they did find the break in the line and attempt to repair it. When that failed, they sent me to a detail shop and paid for the repair. I'd be happier if they hadn't broken it in the first place, of course, but it was an accident and they took care of it, and that's all anyone can ask. read more
