We recently had work performed on my daughters 2014 Jeep Patriot. Wright's got it in quickly and got the work done that was necessary (wheel bearing hub assembly and intake manifold). The Jeep passed Emission Testing a week later (yeah!) and is running well. We still "heard a noise" and brought it back for another inspection. The Wright Team inspected the Jeep and determined that an inexpensive repair by the former owner (strut assembly) was causing the noise. They determined it was not a safety issue and advised we could wait, or repair. I appreciated their honesty as my goal is to provide my youngest daughter with a safe vehicle to use in College. Wright could easily have told me "it's a safety issue" and I would have paid for the repair but they were honest, and they have earned my business for many, many years. Although my original Google review from a couple of years ago has been taken down, I still feel obligated to make people aware of how defensive, rude, and downright bullying the owner of this auto repair shop is. When I was shopping for a car, I brought a vehicle in for a general inspection. I scheduled the day beforehand, and although I was advised that it would be better to bring the vehicle in first thing in the morning, I was unable to do so because I couldn't get ahold of it until noon. I made the receptionist aware of this, and he scheduled my appointment for the afternoon. I brought the vehicle in at the agreed time the following day and called an hour and a half later for a simple ETA on the inspection. I was not rude or aggressive in any way, yet the owner David took it upon himself to rudely tell me that he had not looked at it, would get to it when he could, and that this wouldn't have happened if I had just bought it in first thing in the morning, even though I made it clear to the receptionist a day beforehand that I wouldn't have the vehicle that early. Heated and irrational, I decided to leave a two-star review on Google about David's rudeness. Admittedly, this was not a wise decision, but at the same time, how could I have known that he keeps a sharp eye out for bad reviews when he's supposedly swamped with work? Sure enough, I get a call from him demanding that I take it down. I refused and decided to just go get my car, ignoring the angry, long-winded text he sent me, in which he said he would no longer do any of the non-existent repairs on a vehicle I had brought in for a general inspection. When I arrived at the shop, he refused to give up my keys, physically holding on to them and actually snatching them out of my reach when I tried to get them back. I could have called the police since he legally had no right to withhold my vehicle, but I had more pressing matters to attend to. He gave up the keys and glared at me as I left, leaving me in absolute awe of the unprofessionalism I experienced. I regret writing that first review for sure, as it was purely reactionary, but if they had simply told me they were fully booked and could not accept my appointment, then none of this would have happened. David might be a great auto mechanic, judging by the many perfect reviews his company has, but it is clear to me that he becomes quite rude and aggressive towards customers whenever he's in the wrong. If you look at some of the other one-star reviews here and on Google and see how he replies to them, you'll see what I mean. We called this auto shop the day before bringing our car in and were very specific about the service needed. We provided the VIN number and tag number, and were given a detailed quote over the phone. Based on that information, we scheduled to bring the car in the next morning. When we dropped it off, we were told we would receive a call within an hour to confirm everything. About an hour later, we received a call saying the price would be significantly higher than the original quote, despite the fact that the VIN and tag number had already been provided beforehand. When we explained that the new price was much more than we had planned for and that we would need to pick up the car and figure something else out, the situation became very uncomfortable. When we arrived to get the car, the owner, David, was extremely aggressive and confrontational. His tone and behavior felt intimidating and bullying. We repeatedly asked him to simply give us the keys so we could leave. After several uncomfortable exchanges, he finally returned them, but continued to be confrontational. We ended up going to another shop less than a mile away, where the same service was completed for about a third of the price. Well recommended here on Yelp. I brought my car for an oil change at 8 am (second person in line) this morning and was told it would be ready at noon. They said they would call me with an update, but they didn't. So I called at 10 and was reassured by Juan that it would be ready by noon. I get back here, after sitting at Starbucks for 4 hours, and they're just pulling my Fiat in for the oil change. Juan acted like it was no big deal and I guess it's not if it isn't happening to you. They say it will take 30 minutes so I set my timer for 30 minutes because I did not feel as if they valued my time. I have never written a negative review so it after considerable thought that I write this one. My car was making a noise in the transmission. I took it to Wright Auto and they convinced me the clutch needed to be replaced. While it was in the shop I got a call saying both control arms needed replacement, along with a wheel bearing and one brake caliper. I was told it would be like new. When all the work was done, the transmission noise was still there and the bill was for over $3500. I was told a transmission for my car was not available. When I went to pick up my car the owner would not face me, sending a mechanic instead, who told me after questioning that they would warrant the (unrepaired) transmission for 12K/12mos, along with the rest of the work. The paperwork does not reflect this additional warranty, it was only verbal. I checked on the internet for a transmission and to this day still am getting ads from vendors wanting to sell me a transmission for my car. My dad was a mechanic. This behavior is stunning to me. My dad would have made things right, no matter the time or cost. read more

I can't believe this guy was able to fix my truck, my truck spent over 3 weeks at the dealership and when they called me to pick it up they told me my vehicle was ready and the next day it wouldn't start. A friend recommended me to Wrights Car Care and Repair so a tow truck had to take my truck. the people who helped me were very kind and always informed me of everything they would do with the vehicle and 4 days later my truck was ready! It's been 8 months since I took my truck out of the shop and I haven't had a single problem. I thank people like the ones who work at Wrights Car Care and Repair for their patience because I was very mortified since I had no idea if I would lose my truck. Electrical Extremely disappointed in the service and charges that I was billed. My Pathfinder would not start and I replaced the battery with a new one on 10-09-22. Then on 10-10-22 the vehicle completely died and I had it towed to Wrights auto. They did a "vehicle no start check" @ $217.50 and found it was "a battery terminal end" @ $15.50. The invoice including the towing was $341.88. Then on 10-11-22 the vehicle died again on me and again had it towed back to Wrights auto. They again did a "vehicle no start" @ $92.50. Then at my request ask for system test to insure the alternator was not draining the battery. Then then advised the the problem was the battery was not good and replaced it with a new battery. Then presented me with a another new invoice for $439.30 including the towing. If you would have done what the procedure you had done on the 2nd invoice initially. I would not have had the issues and the additional costs. Common sense would have thought you would have done a complete system check on the 1st tow in, check the battery status, and perform a total inspection. Additionally why would you charge me $92.50 for a "vehicle no start" on the 2nd tow in. When you already charged me $217.50 on the 1st tow in. You would have thought Wrights Auto would have eliminated the 2nd "vehicle no start " and at least split the 2nd towing costs for this major inconvenience. These reviews are misleading. I had a really bad experience. I ended up overpaying for work that was already done and the mechanic was very argumentative. The owner does not like when you question his work. Ask a few questions about why he decided to do a repair or why he settled on a certain solution and he will get very defensive. Basically, the mechanic suggested I redo work I had done at the Audi dealer about 15k miles ago (replaced spark plugs and ignition coils). When I told him it was recently done, he wouldn't believe me. He told me unless I produced a receipt he would "respectfully disagree" that the work was done. I allowed him to do the work and as I predicted, nothing changed. Not to mention I paid $500 to replace spark plugs. The worst of all was I got in the car and it immediately threw a check engine light and the problem was worse than when I pulled in. I do not believe he did a test drive. I'm sure he is an honest person but I believe this mechanic is past his prime. I wouldn't bring him your German cars or any complex problems. Also, whatever you do, don't ask him why he settled on a certain solution. Expect an argument. I went out of my way to handle the relationship with kid gloves and be very nice when I asked questions. He had my car hostage after all. A simple question like, when do you expect to finish the work, resulted in an argument Be careful here. They were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to help me with multiple issues I had with my Honda. They even threw in a few freebies since I was new to Atlanta and looking for a go-to auto repair shop! I'm needing my compressor for my air conditioning replaced (I believe), and will definitely be calling Wrights! I went to Wright's Car Care because of the positive reviews that I read about this place. Like the many other reviewers, I had a pleasant experience; so why did I give this place 3-stars instead of 5?!? Here's why: I took my 2008 GMC Yukon Denali into Wright's recently for an overall inspection because I had just bought it (about 2 months ago) and wanted to ensure that there were no major issues. Prior to reaching out to Wright's, I had taken my vehicle to Steve Raymond Chevrolet for a 20-point inspection. However, I didn't feel that inspection was thorough enough, plus I noticed a couple of minor things that I wanted to get checked out. After reading all of the great reviews, I called Wright's to make an apt to bring my vehicle in. I met Dave, told him my concerns and we proceeded from there. I ended up leaving my vehicle at his shop for a thorough inspection. Later that day, Dave called me with a breakdown of costs for the things he (his mechanic) found wrong with my vehicle. I was surprised to learn that they found over $1,400 in needed repairs...I mean I was beyond stunned; especially since Steve Raymond didn't discover any of these things. Nonetheless, because I believe in taking good care of my car, I agreed to get some of the work done that day and bring my vehicle back later for the additional work needed. Again, I didn't anticipate $1,400 in repairs for my vehicle. Fast forward a couple of hours, Dave and his team completed the work (water pump and ac belt) and even threw in a smaller job for FREE (replaced light bulb of front headlight)! I picked up my vehicle and was satisfied with what was done. Because Dave and I had discussed my concerns in great detail (and he listened with care), I felt very confident in the work performed on my vehicle and that his recommendation for repairs were necessary. I didn't question it. The next day I told my ex-spouse about the repairs to my vehicle and the additional repairs I was going to get done. I gave him the estimate from Dave and he (my ex-spouse) immediately gave me "the side-eye". He reviewed the estimate in detail and said that I didn't need to get some of the things done and I paid entirely too much for what I had done to the vehicle. I explained to him what was explained to me by Dave -- i.e. using AC Delco parts, warranty on repairs and/or parts, etc. but he still remained adamant about his statement. Essentially, my ex felt that I was taken advantage of because I was a female and didn't know any better. One of the issues on the repair estimate was for a transmission flush/change (that's not the exact title of the service, but it's essentially what it is). My ex pointed out that since my vehicle had over $90K miles on it, it wouldn't do any good to flush/change the transmission fluid; in fact, he said it would probably do more harm to the vehicle. He went on to say that no experienced mechanic would recommend that service on my vehicle since it's never been performed before. He told me to check with another shop in the area about this issue and the others Dave listed on the estimate for repairs. Sure enough, I visited two other well-known shops (with outstanding reviews) and was given the exact same information as stated by my ex. I made a point NOT to tell the other shops about my experience at Wright's because I wanted an objective unbiased opinion of the issues with my car. Essentially, I was told NOT to get the transmission service done because it would cause more harm to my vehicle. Further, the estimated costs given by the other shops for the additional minor work needed was a fraction of what Wright's were going to charge me. Needless to say, I was very very disappointed! It is for this reason that I cannot give Wright Car Care 4 or 5 stars and I will not be returning for any additional services. Although I had a pleasant experience, I have to agree with my ex-spouse that I was taken advantage of because of my ignorance. It's important to note that prior to purchasing my 2008 Yukon Denali, I owned a 2006 Lexus GS 300, 2004 Acura MDX Touring and a 2007 Cadillac CTS; thus, I am no stranger to the costs associated with owning luxury vehicles. So, there you have it...my true and honest review. My advice to anyone (especially women) seeking a trustworthy, honest and professional mechanic is to: 1) DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH - know your vehicle and what maintenance is necessary to ensure your vehicle's top-notch performance and 2) SHOP AROUND - get more than one opinion/estimate before making a decision to pay for recommend repairs. I have used Wrights Car Care for several of my vehicles for a variety of different issues. I always feel that David is a very knowledgeable mechanic and I trust that he knows what he is doing. In fact there was one scenario that I had an issue with my brakes that I had another shop repair. I had to return to the other shop 3 times because the vehicle continued to warp the rotors after a few months of driving. I took it to David and he fixed it right the first time and I never needed to take it back again for that issue. I decided to try Wrights Car Care. This is the best auto shop I have ever utilized. David, who is the owner/manager is great and runs a tight ship. These guys have helped me discover and fix botched jobs from previous poor mechanics. They gave upfront estimates for simple jobs and, for more complex jobs, they call you and discuss all aspects of the repair before proceeding. The pricing is very fair and turns out to be much lower than going to dealerships and many other local shops. They do not overcharge for parts and I never felt overcharged for labor. Wrights Car Care also don't try to convince you to do more than you intended to fix or can afford -- if they recommend anything at all, it is because your car really needs the repair. The business practices and ethics of this shop are beyond comprehensible! We took a vehicle to them to have the engine replaced. They supposedly replaced the engine twice (with an engine we had purchased from Advance Auto Parts) and both times the engine continued to leak oil. The car was taken back to them a third time to repair the leaks and because the car had been damaged in their care and they were requested to replace the broken parts, we were told they would not work on the car anymore after that point or honor any warranties on their work. Over $3900 later, this car has gone to another mechanic who has it well documented that the shop replaced the head on the engine and apparently because it was leaking or did not seal properly "fix" the shop provided was to put a temporary leak sealant in the engine which has now ruined the car completely! At this point the car needs a new engine, radiator, thermostats, hoses, etc. because of the incompetency of this shop! We will be seeing them in small claims court! read more

I went there because I needed to get some work done on my brakes. Getting work done on my car stresses me out because I feel like some businesses take advantage of women. When I got there I was greeted by the owner who asked if I was leaving the car. I told him no. I asked him how much it would cost to get my brakes fix he said he didn't know and he was pretty busy and it would be awhile before he could look at it. I was prepared to wait. He then said are you going to get it fix because I'm not going to waste my time giving you and estimate giving you an estimate if you aren't getting it fix. I should have left then, but I told him that I didn't know how much it would cost so I need an estimate to know if I'm getting it fix. He then took less than five minutes to look at the brakes. Added up the figures and told me over $450 because my rotors were bad. I thanked him for his time and left. I later learned that I didn't even need rotors! read more

First of all I happened upon Wrights Car Care almost by accident. My car had been overheating and losing antifreeze for months. No one was able to diagnose the problem. After many visits to repair shops and dealerships I finally got a different diagnoses of the problem. The problem was a lower manifold gasket inside the engine. The estimate was for approximately $1100 for a lower manifold gasket replacement. I wanted a second opinion. So I googled repair shops in the area and Wrights popped up first. I called and David answered the phone on the second ring. Wow a real person!!!! I asked him how much for the repair and he off the top of his head said about $400 - $500. He then ask how I knew I needed lower manifold gasket? I explained that a repair shop told me. I was in the area so he said bring it by and he would look at it. I didn't have to wait for an appointment and within an hour he confirmed that I did need the repair. Made an appointment for a few days later. I sat in the office with him and his certified mechanics as they repaired my car. He offered me lunch while I waited. David is one of the most knowledgeable persons about cars I have ever met. He has been in the business of repairing cars since the 1960s. While working on my car the mechanic found a hose that was broken that was part of the problem as well. Long story short the repair ended up being $675 with the additional hose. My problem was solved and the work was impeccable. I'm sure that I would have paid more at the other repair shop than the original estimate of $1100. I can't say enough about David and his crew. He is honest, straightforward, and operates his shop with the upmost integrity. DO NOT hesitate to take you vehicle to Wright's Car Care. You will find a repair shop for life. So far I disagree with the other review, substantially. A few weeks ago, my SUV (2002) died. I checked for nearby mechanics and found Wrights. I called them and they had my SUV towed to their shop that night. They worked on it over the weekend and fixed the problem for what I consider a reasonable cost. Two days later my SUV experienced a short in the component they worked on and these guys towed it in and fixed that free of charge because they said they should have caught it. That is customer service. They were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. read more
