My car was 10 years old, but Audi hadn't changed the body type, it was running great, and I loved…read moreit, so I decided to have it painted to feel like a newer car. I took it to this Maaco, and I sooo wish I hadn't. First of all, the first time I brought it in, they kept it for over 6 weeks, with no explanation as to why they hadn't finished sooner. When I would call, they never answered the phone. The paint color came out lighter than I thought it would look, but I liked it, so I took the car home. At home, I noticed a bunch (maybe 8?) of little mistakes -- areas that hadn't been taped properly, or little spots that hadn't gotten painted... that kind of thing. But you had to really be looking for mistakes to see them. Five months later, my car -- which had only been driven probably 4000 miles since it was painted, had several little chips in the paint. When I took it back to have them addressed, I was told only bubbles and peeling paint were warrantied, but they wanted me to be happy, so they would give me a discount on the new work. They said it would be done in a couple of days. Again, when I called, my calls went unanswered. Finally, I got ahold of the manager who told me that they ended up repainting the entire car, which was why it was taking longer. They did not charge me for that. When I got it home, it looked slightly darker and more finished with a slightly different sheen. I think they screwed something up the first time, and fixed it the second time, which is why they had to paint the entire car again. Then three months later, I discovered a new chip. There was no associated dent. I took it back. They fixed it at cost after a heated argument. In ten years, the paint on my car had never chipped, and in 10 months their paint job had chipped in about 6 different places. I asked them what recourse I had if it happened again, and they explained (in a defensive, bitchy tone) that chips weren't covered by the warranty. All in all, I spent about $2500 for their shoddy work, and my car was at their shop for over 2 cumulative months in less than a year. Their attitude is terrible, their product is garbage, their warranty doesn't appropriately cover their garbage product, and they'll keep your car for months. I wish I had just gotten a wrap, and NOT at their shop.

I used the Yelp feature to send pictures and received a reply shortly after suggesting an in-person estimate. I called and left a message to schedule an appointment, expecting to wait a couple days before even getting a callback. Imagine my (pleasant) surprise when Mr. Anthony called me back within a few minutes! (Green flag #1) I was told to come by Sunday between 8am and noon (green flag #2). I pulled up at about 11am and Mr. Anthony came out to take a look. The business page says "No job is too big or too small" and they stand on that. One thing I really appreciated is that he included me in the process. He simply asked whether I was looking to have the whole fender replaced (I wasn't), went inside and got his tools. It was that easy. No overselling. No overcharging. No frills. Just an honest gentleman who saw a small job, as it turned out) and made the time to do it. Yall. I drive an old Toyota and have interacted with my share of auto/body techs, honest and dishonest. Mr. Anthony was communicative, timely and very fair! I won't hesitate to come back.

I shopped around a few places including the dealer and found Carstar to have the most reasonable price. The service was quick and the work was completed when promised. I will say the tech did make one mistake and somehow forgot to put the actual lock lever back into the door. I did not notice it due to the fact that I had a carseat on that side and never opened the door from the inside. Fast-forward 2 years, the carseats have been moved to the back row, and we realize we cannot unlock the door manually after my wife was trying to exit after sitting in the back. I stopped by and spoke with Reggie not really sure if they would be willing to do anything about it since it had been over 2 years since the work was completed. Even though the mistake was made before Reggie's time, he immediately apologized and told me that he would take care of it. I can honestly say I was a bit surprised as it had been so long before I noticed the issue, and it had taken me even longer to bring it in to have them look at it. Through the entire process Reggie has been awesome and as promised they replaced the missing lever. I can say that for any future repairs Carstar will be my go to repair shop.
