Came here at 6 pm on December 3rd. Just wanted to grab a quick bite to go since I skipped lunch. This Chipotle has got to be the loudest, noisiest and just flat out uncomfortable to be in and this was for just take out since we still under Covid protocols so no dine in allowed. The staff, especially the big blonde cashier talked super loud (high decibel level) to each other about their personal lives in front of customers while there was a line snaking around the whole store. It was unbearable and made the entire experience just painful and awful. It took me literally almost 30 minutes (26.5 minutes real time) to go from in and out of this location with my bowl. Worst part? They ran out of mild salsa. What kind of Mexican restaurant runs of salsa during peak hours? The Chipoltes in Millbrae, CA. seems to have issues all over the place. Additional extensive training and corporate review of this location is badly needed. Inefficient, slow service mixed together with loud servers makes for an utterly unpleasant visit. 5 stars to the rude lady manager who was at this location last night. As soon as I get in there I hear her shouting and yelling at the other employees. I go in there and I ask for a bowl "for here", I generally sit in there and eat. She asks if I want a lid. I say "sure why not" (since you're offering). She then snaps back and says "why don't you say to-go" then? When I start explaining that I am sitting here and eating but since you are offering me a lid I just said yes, she cuts me off mid-sentence in the most curt way and goes "Why don't you tell me what you want?". I later asked an employee who she was, they said she was the manager. When I told them she was rude, the employee gave an awkward smile which I can only interpret as a "Yes I know but what can we do?". This review isn't about the food -its about the horrible service I received before I even had a chance to order. My visit was on 12/15/20 at about 5PM. I just wanted some chips & guacamole - no entree, salad or anything else. Countless times I've just went directly to register while the cashier's been idle between guests and had no problem with my quick purchase. When I walked in, there was a couple being served at the register so I stood back about 7 feet. After they left and the cashier was idle, I took 2 steps toward her and before I could say one word, she said very loudly "NO!" with a hostile and belligerent tone. She then something like, "If your order's not there, you have to step back, be patient and wait for it!" Because I was standing somewhat near the online order pickup area, she thought I was picking up an online order which I was not. When I told her i just wanted chips & guacamole and showed it to her on my app, - she snapped at me and told me go wait in line and they would get to me when it was my turn. At that point I just walked out in disgust and anger while I heard her saying something about me to other people in the area. Let me make one thing clear - I would have gladly waited in line had this cashier treated me with one ounce of decency and respect. I was in no way confrontational or disrespectful to her in any way - hell I didn't even get a single word out before she started yelling at me. I was attacked with a 100% hostile, "I'm verbally going to hit you over the head with a baseball bat" attitude. Is this the kind of person you want working for you Chipolte? Seriously? I grew up working in a family business, had countless retail jobs and yes even worked in a food service job selling sandwiches at Marine World for $3.35 an hour a 100 years ago so believe me I know what good customer service is. For those of you who continue to eat here- I would avoid this employee at all costs - Caucasian Female with some weight on her, 5' 8-5'9", 20s-30s, dirty blonde hair pulled back. I DID contact customer service about this - in fact I went straight home and sent a lengthy message about my experience and requested the manager call me if possible. As of this date I haven't received any sort of reply so don't know if they received it or are just busy. Absolute goddamn failure of service. Made an online order for pickup at 8, and at 8:10, they hadn't even started making it, or any of the orders for pickup customers ahead of me. They seem to only make mobile orders when there are no customers in line. It would have actually been faster to cancel my order, drive to another chipotle, stand in line there, and order again. I feel like a lot of chipotle restaurants are a hit or miss. It's rarely ever consistent depending on location. For example, the San Mateo location ALWAYS serves really small portions. On the other hand, millbrae chipotle serves bigger portions. The staff here are always smiling and friendly. I always order a chicken bowl with brown rice, veggies, mild & medium salsa, cheese, corn, lettuce, and side of guac. I'm always full from eating just half of my chipotle whenever I get it from millbrae because the portions are just that big !! They're not stingy like most other branches and hold back nor would they scoop some back from your bowl if they think they gave you too much. -____- Also! If you purchase a $25 gift card from them either for someone else or yourself (which I do since I eat at chipotle like two- three times a week), they'll gift you a FREE bowl, burrito, or salad on the receipt! It tastes like their chips were soaking in lime minus the soggy, wet texture it would have gotten if it was actually soaking in lime juice. It's never particularly crowded. I've had to wait in line for a few minutes but that doesn't really bother me. It's definately not authentic Mexican food but I do feel a lot healthier eating this. Love love love their Cilantro Rice. Always neat and always clean. On hot days, I like heading to the mini patio on the side. I can watch the cars zoom past me on El Camino while I enjoy my burrito. read more

I had a terrible experience with Chipotle at a mall close to my house a few weeks ago so I drove a little further this time in hopes of better service and food. This location was easier to get to and has ample parking spaces outside. Their employees are friendlier too and actually smile. There was a few people in line when I arrived and I was one of the unlucky ones to have to wait 10 minutes for chicken in my burrito bowls. Upon learning about my wait time, one of the employees/manager offered me a free drink and thanked me for waiting. He seemed sincere and also apologized a few times. I was not upset nor did I show any signs of frustration. Did I forget to mention that he offered me a free burrito bowl? That was a pleasant surprise. DON'T ORDER ONLINE unless you want to wait at least half an hour from your scheduled pickup time! My suggestion is to put more staff to make the online orders versus the walk ins or at least let the customers know online or on the app that it's faster walking in. It is unfair for the customers who ordered online ahead of walk in customers to get their food backed up because of staff shortage when in reality the staff is 8-9 people but not split up in a more efficient manner. I ordered 4 items online and am still waiting for my 6:40 pm order and it is now 7:14 pm. On the other hand... I'm giving 4 stars for the walk in portion of my experience. It was great! Got what I needed and left in less than 3 minutes. See how ridiculous it is though? Another restaurant we don't have in Hawai'i. After trying it once, had to get it again. Went on Yelp and noticed it was near where I was staying so I decided to walk here. The other reviews said it was a busy location. That they did not lie about! But very efficient employees, they also had a system so the lines moved quick. They weren't out of anything and I got there right on time, so I got chips and guacamole as well! Money well spent for the only dinner I'd be having while I was there. A relatively new restaurant near my home and workplace (off El Camino Real, just South of Millbrae Ave.). Simple three item menu: Burrito (or Burrito Bowl (no tortilla), Taco or Salad. I've heard decent reviews about other menu items; I really like the simple, clean, fresh taste of their veggie burrito. Also, great salsas (Mild: fresh tomato; Medium: roasted chili-corn or tomatillo-green chili; Hot: tomatillo-red chili). That third star is for the burrito alone - they really have to work on their service delivery, though. The one inefficient cashier this past Saturday afternoon made our quick stop pretty slow and frustrating. I am over here trying to place a large order for a work event and when I call, I was told to call the 800 number. Honey, let me give you an education on customer service. The correct response is: "Thank you sir. As much as I would like to place your order, you will need to contact our catering department. The phone number is: (insert number here) may I connect you sir?" I've placed large orders here a few times in the past and each time, the order is not ready at the designated time. No problem. I subtract 15 minutes to give them a break. That hasn't worked out so well either. basically, they get to the large orders when they feel like it. Oh on to the great stuff. It clearly states "For take out orders, head directly to the cashier." This is when the fun begins. It happens like clock work too. I stand there and of course, the cashier rings up folks who have been waiting in line. Then, he/she looks over at me as though I just ran over his puppy. Because his time is so important he often utters "be right with you sir" and then I wait and wait and wait and I stand around like a tool!! They need a better system. I mean, if you checked the stock price of late, they can afford to boost the process a bit. Overall, I hate this place. And that's not just because I'm Mexican and these cats whisked into town and caught the attention of all the white folks. The food is decent going down, but soon after I grub, I feel like rat piss!!!
