I love chipotle. I feel like it's a place you can go to and eat healthy if you try. That being said, I wasn't completely pleased with my experience at chipotle. I ordered the salad. The gal who worked the register was super nice. When I got home, I was disappointed that in my salad instead of guacamole I had half an avocado and it was hard. I took a picture of it. Also in their lettuce I had the bottom of Romaine the part you wouldn't eat unless you want to break a tooth. The taste was good, but that just disappointed me. Also when I was ordering the salad I kept saying more lettuce more lettuce, more lettuce. I just think if you get a salad, it shouldn't just be one handful of lettuce. Poor customer service. Did not open on time. There was no sense of urgency by the staff. One worker even proceeded to make his own burrito and sit down at a table where everyone waiting (about 20 people) could see him eating. Not sure how it could have been a break when restaurant was supposed to open at 10:45 am and didn't open until 11 am. And he was eating at 11:17 am. I placed a mobile order for 11 am and did not Walk out until 11:20 am. I am BEYOND disappointed with my service at Chiptole today. Let me just start off by saying that It was JUST awful. I ordered ahead on the app per my son's birthday dinner request. Been coming here for many years, having grown up on the Burlingame/Millbrae border and living here as an adult for a decade. Ordered pickup via the app on a Saturday, arrived with just a few people in line ordering in person. They had 3 workers in front and a few in back. I walked up to the employee at the register and gave my name as I could see my order behind the register (it was the only order in the pick up shelf) The employee at the register looks back at it and says "yeah hold on" then waits about 15 seconds for the next person ordering in line to get to him. He proceeds to ring this person up, an older gentleman who clearly was having trouble figuring out where to tap his credit card to pay. The cashier was pretty rude and condescending to the him and looked annoyed he didn't tap his card in the right spot. Once that was all done, he reaches back, hands me my order without looking at me or even saying a word. I rarely give one star reviews, and I know it's Chipotle, but I've come here enough over the years to say the service has gradually gotten worse with time. And if you have someone coming in that's ordered via the app and the order is all bagged up and ready, why ask me to wait so you can then wait for the next customer to get to the register and ring them up and leave me waiting when you can just grab the bag behind you and hand it to me. You already turned and looked at it for crying out loud. It's just a lack of logic and/or common sense, or perhaps just an unhappy employee. This was by far the most shocking and humiliating customer service experience I've ever had--and it happened at a Chipotle I've visited and supported many times before. I placed a mobile order, and the app notified me it was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I quietly approached the pickup area to check if my food was there. Before I could say *one word*, a staff member came out from the back, looked directly at me, and **screamed at me to "get out"** in front of the entire restaurant. I was stunned, embarrassed, and completely caught off guard. I hadn't even had the chance to speak. She was clearly handling completed orders and slowly applying stickers, so I simply wanted to ask if mine was among them. Instead of providing basic customer service, she yelled and then walked away. I asked for a manager, hoping he would de-escalate the situation or at least acknowledge what happened. Instead, he dismissed me entirely--no apology, no explanation, no help, and no refund. He refused to address anything and made me feel like I didn't matter. I left feeling disrespected, degraded, and honestly traumatized. I've never felt so mistreated in a restaurant, especially as a paying customer. This wasn't just poor service--it was hostile and dehumanizing. Corporate needs to know this is happening. If this is how Chipotle trains--or tolerates--its employees treating customers, that's a serious problem. The garbage cans were so full, that you could not separate the trash. I basically had a dump everything, in the can that had room. There was a girl walking around and picking up after customers, but you can tell she was poorly trained. Yes, she did pick up the trays and cups that were left behind, but if there were any spills or food on the table, it was left behind. I absolutely don't blame her, because her manager was looking right at her. This place is poorly run and I do not blame the employees. I also don't care to hear, it's hard to get good help. When help comes in, as a manager, you train them to your level of expectations, no less. I'm probably never gonna come back to this one. The online order kitchen isn't open during off peak hours, the staff is overwhelmed, the same people who make online orders also have to make orders for people in line. So there are long delays. All the employees look burned out, and I've been going here for years and the you see new sets of employees every few months means people quit. Fix this place. Hire one more person to keep the online order kitchen open at all times. Have the delivery driver orders be out 8n the open so the cashier doesn't have to keep looking in the back for the orders, they'll say they'll get stolen but at least have a numbering system or something. If any place needs a digital kiosk it's this place. Be way more efficient. Basically chipotle is a billion dollar company they should have at least 1 or better yet 2 people tending to online orders at all times, they can prepare the food and call peoples names out this will take a load off the rest of the staff, this combined with a digital kiosk will make things much faster. As a customer it's not pleasant to come here and see employees not be able to handle the amount of people who come here. So many times I've wanted to eat here but chose Taco Bell because they are way more efficient, even though the food is not as good.
