I see this McDonald's location has pretty low ratings, however, my 4 stars are based on my individual experience which is mostly through the drive thru. Well, do we really need to judge McDonald's food at this point? Expectations should be what they are, however, what's more important is my experience there. When I lived in Millbrae I would go here a lot in the morning before work and get a coffee. The guy taking my order (which I also suspect was in some sort of lead of supervisor position) was great, and I even knew him by name at some point. I think he was still there as of a couple of years ago, but he had a deep voice with a Spanish accent. Anyways, not a bad one, IMO. read more

C Inside the restaurant itself was: it was actually Cleaner than the first time I walked in 1 week ago: B Service: inside the restaurant is a Solo order station where you can preorder and pick up your the left side of the restaurant. The only problem was is that the people who didn't preorder at the same Solo station, that actually ordered at the front counter; had to wait behind the person who ordered at the Solo ordering station. I like this McDonalds location compared to SSF Gellert location. The price for breakfast sandwiches are cheaper by about $2 when you use the BOGO for sausage egg McMuffin in the am. A few times my sandwich was prepared so well the food was steaming when I started to eat it. The sandwich was not flat like the Gellert location. Also, when I order big breakfast here, .. they never forget all the fixings like jam and syrup & cutlery. They seem to be well staff as well and bathroom is clean when we visit. One of the few McDonald that is not located in a downtown big city that will NOT refill drink. This place also will see homeless people come in often, I know McDonald can't control homeless people coming in and don't want homeless people who try to refill drink all the time, but the staff should able to tell who is obviously NOT homeless people. read more

They took my money and accepted the order I arrived at 3:57 and because it was almost 4am they said they couldn't serve me as it was breakfast time. I needed to pick up a bunch of fries for kids at the school so I happen to browse their menu and was curious about the most expensive burger on the menu, which happens to be the DOUBLE QUARTER POUNDER WITH CHEESE -- it's over $9!!! What the heck, check out my video for the unboxing, clearly not worth $9 -- the burger is very very dry I will say that all the staff here are very nice but the wait is a little long. This is definitely one of the best McDonald's in the Bay area. There are fries are always hot. It doesn't matter what time of day you go. Staff are very sweet. And very friendly. I have never had an incorrect order or anything missing, and they always try their best to get whatever you need whether it's an extra ranch or extra ketchup. This is for the service in the mornings. My son and I go to St Dunstan school across the street. He always wants his bacon. I been driving there on most mornings. Get my orders. I want to say I really appreciate the customer service with Maribac and Gilbert. They are the most friendliest people I know. Gilbert always say good morning to my son sitting in the backseat. When people have a good experience here, the last thing they think is "Wow that was great! Let me write a Yelp review!". But when something goes wrong, the first thing they do is come on here. Which is probably why there are so many more bad reviews than good ones. As a delivery guy, I've been to pretty much every food establishment in the area - and this McDonald's is among the best (seriously). Turnover is very high in this industry (the job is not easy. Newcomers often don't make the cut) - so there are many many times when the team is short-staff because someone leaves and the managers have to step up. That being said, this McDonald's does a really good job of keeping up with the surge of orders (it's also pretty much the last 24hr eatery in the area). The food is great, the service is usually fast, and if something does goes wrong, they're very professional and quick to fix it. (There are other McDonald's in the area that will literally make you wait 15min for their error and then tell you you're on your own. Good workers are REALLY hard to come by, and when they do, they often are hired by other places that pay better.) I really appreciate this place - again, never had a problem with the quality of the fast food, and it's also super convenient that it's 24 hours and so close to me :) read more

Why is Google asking for a review? It's McDonald's. It tastes the same everywhere, every time. It's open when you need it to be. The service is friendly, efficient, and prompt. The food is always hot and loaded with everything that makes feelings go away. If you don't mind living with the guilt and shame that creeps upon you as you polish off back to back breakfast sandwiches, then I highly recommend any McDonald's that doesn't have beggars posted at the drive thru order menu. Or, maybe that's your jam, in which case I recommend any Jack in the Box in Oakland. read more

Out of any McDonalds that I've been to in my area, the McDonalds in Millbrae is easily my favorite one to go to beause all the staff there are very nice and provide pretty good service. Of course in the fast food industry there is plenty of turnover, but the current group is pretty good and I always get greeted with a smile and a thank you which is a big plus. The line usually moves pretty fast and I never really had to wait long for my orders. The inside is also pretty updated and clean too. Also the menu items at this McDonalds cost less than the South SF one I live nearby so I obviously prefer Millbrae's more. Also I'm happy that the breakfast bagels are back because those were a staple in my childhood. They are so good and if they ever remove them again I will cry. Recently I got the Steak Egg Cheese Bagel with Extra Onions and Extra Breakfast Sauce ($7.89). It's almost $8, but it's so good I can't even complain plus extra sauce and onions is free of charge. I definitely recommend using the McDonalds apps for deals or you're basically throwing away money and also ordering is a much faster process. I love using the deal for 99 cent coffees to pair with my meal or using the free fries friday deal. read more

I went to the drive thru and ordered a Big Mac meal with large fries and large Diet Coke plus a four piece chicken strips. When I was home, I found out that the large fries was Medium in size and what was worse was the 4 piece chicken strips was only 3 pieces. On the order board it says 4 pieces as well as in the receipt, it says 4 pieces but we only got 3. The box container even says 3 pieces which is different from what is posted and what is on the receipt. Hey, McDonald's is this one way of shortchanging your customers. By giving a downgraded size and so with wrong number of pieces on a drive thru order, how many customers have you scammed doing this? I have pix to prove these. This is not a good practice. Now it's time to stay away from this giant and go to a competitor which I believe has a better quality and an honest approach to the business! read more

1 star for the simple fact that they took away the soda machine, and wont give refills. This location has given into the self service kiosk. Took 4 minutes to get someone to take my order at the counter. The amount of homeless people that lounge in here is also something else. This review is mainly for the terrible McDonald's app!! I personally prefer McDonald's over other fast food chains but after this experience, it makes me lean towards others. My family was on the way back home and we decided to order something quick and easy. I ordered from other fast food apps before and know there are special deals if you order via app. I downloaded their app and made an account. I was at home and my family was going to pick up at this location. After placing my order, somehow the order does not go through until you are AT or NEAR the location. I screenshotted my order details and everything to my sister so she could pick it up. Upon arrival since the drive thru line was too long, she went to pick up in store. HOWEVER, the employee said she could not pick up the order as she is not the person who placed the order.... like what?!!?!? I placed an order for $7 worth and you can't let someone who has all the order details pick it up????? It's not like I placed a thousand dollar order and you need to verify my identity to pick it up. Afterwards, I made sure that the order didn't go through and my card didn't get charged. Nonetheless, my sister was not going to come home to get my phone then go back to the store to "place" the order. She decided to order there and turns out they did NOT have the McRib even though it was available on the app. So if my order did go through, what would they have given me in place of the McRib??? Other fast food apps are quick and easy which is the point of fast food restaurants. I've ordered on other fast food apps before and I can easily pick up for other people as long as I have their order number. I think this is the worst app ever and McDonald's should update this service and allow people to pick up others orders as long as they have the order info. I went through the drive thru for a quick and cheap lunch. (Disclaimer: I generally have 2-star expectations for fast food restaurants). The is restaurant is well above average. I was promptly greeted at the menu board, which was large and easy to see, with a friendly welcome. I placed my order and confirmed on the screen it was accurate. After a brief line, I was greeted at the cashier window by a friendly and familiar face. I've been here before and the employee recognized me with a delightful welcome. This is 5 stars RELATIVE to the other McDonald's in the area. For late night cravings go out of your way for THIS store. Not only are they actually open and have accurate hours on the app (looking at you, McDonald's by SFO), but it's actually not a skeleton crew so your order comes out quick and hot. Plus it's one of the few 24/7 drive-thrus left, which means dinner is served till 4 AM. Friendly staff that try to accommodate if you have weird requests and are competent, and clean. Plus the area feels pretty safe at night so you can sit in your car after ordering. Honestly my only complaint is that they aren't closer to freeway entrances to make getting to and from this location easier. Oh, and they don't have mild picante for some reason. Hands down the best McDonald's in the area. Pretty sure the prices are slightly cheaper here too compared to surrounding areas. read more

It's clean and you'll find their signature foods and the food comes fast although I will say that their seating space are kinda Cramped meaning there's not enough seating if you wanted to stay and eat here and use their WiFi signal due to being free. There were a lot of teens when I got here and I was assuming that there's A school nearby and McDonald's is known for putting branch near schools. read more

This McDonald's in Millbrae, CA at 1101 El Camino Real is one of the worst! I used the kiosk to order as suggested and then watched as my order sat there not being served. My food was getting cold.... When I went up to the workers to ask for my order by number... they pretended to not understand what I wanted... they turned around and ignored me, including the shift manager in the gray shirt. Finally, another worker approached my food, checked it and turned around. The other workers were obviously talking about me asking for the food immediately while the French fries were still hot. Obviously, with service like this there is no wonder there is no foot traffic in your stores. Horrendous! read more
