This is a great burger spot for family burger nights! The menu is great with lots of kids options. The food isn't super consistent, but we love how parking is easy, service is friendly and accommodating, the kids really enjoy the caltrain whizzing by, and there is space for larger groups. My son loves to get the 2 slider kids menu item and douse it in ketchup. The regular hamburger is pretty good but I still have yet to try the other burgers and chicken sandwiches. They look really good! The restaurant is unpretentious, spacious, and we didnt feel self conscious with having a very excited toddler yelling "choo-choo train!!" every time a train passed. Finally popped in to try Maverick Jack's. We arrived on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. We initially sat outside on their patio (which was quite nice) and moved inside as the night got colder. We ordered one classic burger with American cheese and one Outlaw. We also subbed our fries for parmesan garlic fries and tots. The burgers were really tasty; we especially enjoyed the classic burger. The tots were also great - crispy and perfectly fried. The parmesan garlic fries had good flavor but were too oily for our liking. For drinks, we got a blonde bombshell shake which was vanilla with strawberry drizzle around the glass. Service was very friendly and attentive, and their seating (both indoor and outdoor) is comfortable and spacious. As we ate our meal, we had a window view of the sunset. This is a great place for burgers and shakes with a laidback atmosphere and great service. I usually get the Bacon Ultimatum because I love how the smokey bacon compliments the flavors of the cheddar and the maple bacon mayo. The sweetness of the mayo is balanced by the savory/smokey goodness of the bacon. The shake I get is the Chocolate-Peanut Butter Mocha Chip which is the right amount of sweet without being cloying. With how good the food is and the service, I can't recommend this place enough. They are easily one of the best burger joints in the Bay Area. read more

I came here on a Thursday afternoon at a weird time, 3:30pm. No hostess at the entrance, and no one sitting inside or outside. But after we found for the hostess, she sat us very politely and apologized for not being at the entrance. She was super nice. While I was reading the menu, I saw that they cook their fries in beef tallow now! Being the health guy, I was stoked and very happy to see this. Beef tallow is a lot more healthy than seed oils most places cook with. My dad and I got the normal cheese burger, medium rare, and it came out at the right temperature. Not much to say about the burger, because it was an ordinary burger. The mint chip milkshake was not as thick as I like and pretty liquidy. Who likes a liquidy milkshake? Crowd goes silent. A new go-to for dinner! My husband and I visited Maverick Jack's on a Sunday afternoon and sat in their spacious patio.They are dog friendly to our 11 pound pup - always a plus for us! We were greeted and seated immediately. Husband ordered the Texan burger w/ classic fries and I ordered the impossible burger w/ sweet potato fries. Love that they have an impossible option. No complaints! Delicious! Great portion sizes for the price as well. The burgers were well flavored & the hamburger buns were really buttery. They mainly highlight burgers but also have some chicken sandwiches and salads available. They have a few draft beers and wine selection & offer shakes, floats, and freezes! A friend suggested coming to this place for lunch and I'm so glad he did -- it was definitely one of the best places I ate at while visiting NorCal. We must have been close enough to Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world because they knew exactly how to incorporate it well! I got the bacon Ultimatum Burger and he got the teriyaki chicken sandwich with a salad and was raving about how good it was! He said the chicken was cooked perfectly and salad was night and light. My burger was great and my upgraded garlic Parmesan fries were so tasty! Unlike other garlic parm fries I had during my trip up north, these were bursting with flavor to the point where I really sat there and ate the entire generous serving because I didn't want to waste the goodness! We went around 1pm on a Tuesday and were the only ones in there. The service was great, despite being the only ones there our waitress was still really attentive and refilling our drinks constantly. The music was good and the vibes were nice inside. They do have patio seating but we opted to stay inside to stay cool. The restrooms were also clean too. The train tracks are right next to this place so if you're with kids or anyone that enjoys trains that part will be exciting. I think the train went by us once and it really wasn't a bother for us. This is a cute burger joint close to downtown Burlingame & the caltrain station. The servers amd hostess were super friendly and fast to make recommendations. I really enjoyed the candy bar sundae. They have a variety of sundaes and desserts to choose from. I opted for the blue cheese burger (no tomatoes) with a side salad and some onion rings. I took a bite of someone else's Classic burger (medium) + bacon and it was a lotttt better. The pickles were a little bit too thick for me, but I always love me anything pickle. It was worth a try, but sticking to fries next time I would come back again. It does get a little bit loud with Caltrain coming by, but since it was the weekend, the train did not pass too often. I came here for the first time for dinner with my mom the Thursday before the fourth of July at around 5PM. There were a few people dining but not many, which surprised us because we'd heard great things about this restaurant. The host told us that they usually see bigger crowds on the weekends, which is understandable because the food here is amazing! We ordered the parmesan garlic fries to start and they were absolutely delicious. You can't go wrong with Gilroy garlic--it's the best in the bay! If the giant's stadium made all of their garlic fries to order and topped them with parmesan cheese, they would taste like these from Maverick Jack's. For our meals, my mom ordered the classic maverick burger and I got the chicken club sandwich (no avocado, sub basil pesto mayo for roasted garlic aioli) with a side of onion rings. It was excellent! The onion rings were piping hot--crispy and had a nice crunch. Their ranch was very good too. The chicken fillet was thin and juicy. It was seasoned very well too. I've never had cheese on a club sandwich before but now I think it's an absolute must! For dessert, I ordered the maverick's sundae with hot fudge topping, and she got the candy bar crunch sundae. As you can see, the sundaes are enormous and loaded with hot fudge. We were so stuffed from our appetizer and meals that we couldn't finish them in the restaurant so we took them to go. They use vanilla soft serve so when storing the sundaes in the fridge the ice cream didn't melt. The consistency remained the same, not milky like a melted milkshake. I also ordered a root beer float which was good too. I think Maverick Jack's is the perfect restaurant that offers a fun diner style menu. It was fun sitting inside and watching the trains go by, they also have an outdoor seating area with heat lamps and patches of fake grass. I would highly encourage people to venture out during the week as well as the weekend. You'll be met with excellent service from friendly staff and terrific food. I'm not sure what happened today @ Maverick Jack's place but my hubby and I got such POOR SERVICE from LUCAS!! :( We were so excited to come there again since we live in San Francisco! We can always rely on Maverick Jack's for yummy good burgers..fries..onion rings and their delicious real ice cream shakes! :)) I was craving for egg on my burger today and I got it but we wish the customer service was better! So let me start where and what happened! As we got parking...we got inside & in front of the desk area were like 4 servers hanging out! It was nice that they actually greeted us & by another girl who later I saw left to go home for the day! Really disappointing. Food was poor, service was poor and ambiance was poor. My burger was so under done(medium rare?) that taking a bite just caused undercooked meet to just squirt out the bun. The juices from the undercooked meat caused the bun to go soggy so it turned into just a grotesque wet mess. Also there was no seasoning on the meat. On the plus side, you could tell it was fresh, quality beef. The fries, double fried in tallow were cold when they finally arrived and unsalted. I think "flavorless" is the theme here. I tried two and gave up. The patio had a heater that was broken, which the server would have discovered if he had come around more than twice. Once to take our order and once to bring the food. That's it. The 20 minutes between those visits were cold waiting for the heater that he said was going to turn on, turn on. I had to go back in to get the check. Love the ambiance and look of Maverick Jacks. The inside is very nice to sit in, the music is nice, and it's really great being next to Caltrain. The service is also really great! Each server is very fast and seems happy to answer any question you have. We had a question about one of the beers and a bartender came up to answer our question. The food is good. Not the best burger that I have had but a good one! The burger is juicy and has a unique sauce that I like. The fries were very fresh and tasty. I stopped here after taking some passengers to SFO. I had a craving for a good burger and thought I would stop here. There is both a indoor and outdoor dining area. Outdoor is dog friendly with dog water bowls and fake grass. I didn't have my dog with me but I wanted so fresh air. Jeanette, my food server was incredibly friendly. I asked for an 805 to start (goes great with good burgers) but they don't carry it. She said they had another that I may like and I could have a sample to see if I liked it. It was pretty good, almost as good as my fave, 805. My burger (The Outlaw) came out very quick. So tasty! Loved the fries too!! Ate here on Labor Day before our trek home. We arrived at 11 am when they just opened. We happened to see Maverick Jacks on our drive to our hotel the previous day while visiting downtown Burlingame. My wife and I both ordered a burger- she had the classic and I had the Ultimatum. Burger was tasty but looked surprisingly small then what I expected (based on ordering burgers at other restaurants thru the years). The Ultimatum had bacon but didn't have any dressing in it to give it a kick or a unique taste. I added mustard that I requested. Fries were okay. Not seasoned too badly but was ordinary to say the least. We sat indoors which saw the train pass at least several times with our meal. Added a sundae for myself and wifey which was soft serve vanilla with caramel and hot fudge and peanuts. That too was okay and something you can get At McDonalds but the price here was like $9. Thing to keep in mind is if you charge by credit card, they add 2.99% to the bill to cover those merchant fees. This is the first restaurant I've been to that did that... so at $65.04, I decided to pay cash since I had that amount on hand plus tip. Overall, a good enough meal to experience what the place is all about. I can't say I would come here again with so many other food places to try around the city. read more
