Completely different experience from my previous for the San Mateo Jack in the Box location . This time the food was of a quality I expect for Jack in the Box. In the tacos were not terrible. Nice to have tasty good quality tacos or taco Tuesday. Ultimate cheeseburger was also good and prepared exactly as I had asked. Halfsies fries were perfect! Soda was good. Nice when a Dr Pepper has the correct mix and carbonation. Every table was clean. All the trash bins were well kept. Floors were clean throughout. Bathrooms were much different than my last visit. This time mostly clean. Only a little problem on the side of the toilet bowl which was not much of an issue. Everyone behind the counter was helpful and friendly. Food was great, and the people there were super nice and awesome! It is great that they are open 24/7! It is a clean spot too with plenty of space for the drive-thru. However, it was a good thing I checked my takeout order, and so it is still a thing commonly taught. I was missing one of the burgers for the bogo deal, but I went back and got it taken care of without any problems. I understand as they were super busy. This happened at another Jack in the Box in the past too. Otherwise, I got a whole meal for just over $ that could feed a family! Terrible service disgusting conditions. After 10 minutes of standing in front of the register unattended I flagged down an employee just for him to tell me to order at the Kiosk showing today's employee time cards. I told him I couldn't order there and he seemed bothered to take my order from the actual register. He didn't care all the employees personal schedules were all over the kiosk after I pointed it out. After finally ordering...He gave me my cup for Coke. When I attempted to pour my soda. The self-serve Coke machine spit brown chunks into my cup. Not to mention the entire area looked like someone took a dump in it. (No one did) But it was unsanitary. (See picture) When I told the new manager logging in at the register (not the kiosk) he didn't seem to care. I then had to flag down another employee to ask him if he could pour my coke from the drive through fountain. I showed him my cup with chunks and he didn't seem to care either. (Not sure where the new manager went. ) After my order arrived the employees disappeared again. I needed ranch sauce, so yes I had to get loud to get someone's attention. Then New Manager came over and slid the ranch sauce over to me without saying a word. The people in the back all ignored me when I asked for ranch sauce that's why I got loud. This Jack in a Box is a ghost town when you walk in no customers and no service. You basically have to scream at them to get them to take your order. In a world where customer service is already bad. Forcing people to use a kiosk that displays all the employee schedules is probably not the way to go. Most people already don't want to order from a kiosk. I should have walked out when I had the chance. I won't even describe my food or my opinion of their cooking area. However, it's the only burger drive thru in the area, so a few times this year I've tried it again and have been pleasantly surprised. Got the bacon double Jack stacked combo. Reasonably priced and fairly good. Drive thru customer service stellar each time. Friendly and responsive with minimal wait time. Normally I wouldnt take my time after Doordash to write a seperate review... but this place was very careless with their food and the quality was well below par. I ordered a box with a Double Jack and 4 Tacos, a breakfast jack with bacon ($4.59) and a red bull added on the side (only 65 cents more which was nice) as I'm at work and its late at night. Upon my food arriving, the bag was sealed nicely and everything looked great but inside the bag was nothing but the food. No napkins, no tacos sauce for the 4 tacos, and the cold redbull keeping my "hot" food company inside the bag. Which me being very hungry not a big deal... but when i got the tacos they clearly were reheated and not cooked fresh. They felt chewy maybe stale? I don't know but it wasnt a crunch. . As for the Double Jack... be sure you say light on sauces or you will have your first bite on your shirt as they put an overwhelming amount of sauce on it.. with that being said.. it was the kind of burger you open the wrapper and part of the bun is already soggy because of the sauce... The Breakfast Jack was dry as a desert and with 2 little slivers of bacon that also looked overcooked in the microwave as they were hard little chewy morsels. Every now and then coming home from late from work, I'll swing by and pick up some tacos. This night was different and the fact that the window lady was really nice. She noticed I was parched tired without a blink. She smiled and said you need some water quickly, she handed me a cup of water with my order and smiled and said hey have a great night. The orders are always incorrect, they shut down regular ordering and make it DoorDash only on a regular basis. They are incredibly rude and do not care about the Brand at all! Horrible experience. Will never use Jack in the Box's online app again. Placed an order using their app and my husband went to pick it up via their drive-thru window. They refused to give him the order even though he had my order receipt. Escalated to the manager who finally made an exception and gave it to him. This is a very hit or miss location. If you come around dinner hours you're likely to get the right order and good tasting fast food! That being said, if you come during and off time or when it's short staffed food can take a really long time to come out or it tastes like it's been out for a while. I was hungry so I pulled off of Highway 101 to stop by at this Jack-in-the-Box. I needed to use the restroom and the lady told me to use the one on the left. The door was locked and I told her to unlock it and then she told me someone's in there so I waited and waited and waited and then next thing you know this guy goes to the counter and get buzzed in and uses the restroom before me. They need to let all staff know that you need to buzz the person in so that way they don't just wait. When I finally did use the restroom they were out of paper towels and toilet seat covers and the floor was sticky and it smell like urine inside. It also did not flush well. The curly fries were great the fried taco was great and the chicken sandwich was so saucy that it was messy to even hold. I think going for breakfast is OK. Eat at your own risk! Watched fry station cook use the same gloves while touching food many times, handle all surfaces and wipe their nose all while using the same gloves. When you're on the go, you sometimes need to stop at these fast food places. And when you order your food, you just hope it comes to you as you would expect, hot, fresh, and ready. But every once in a while you stop at a location that doesn't take the care to make the food correctly. And then you realize why you don't eat fast food very often. I ordered the chicken tatermelt munchie meal, because I like the sandwich and it comes with all the sides and a drink. But when I received it, it was like warm, fries cold and stale, tasted old probably from the reused oil. And the sandwich had the chicken patty and the hashbrown patty over cooked and over fried, and they couldn't even just melt the cheese. We usually ended up there most weekend nights, and one memorable Sunday morning, I remember making a breakfast run for a dozen or so "Breakfast Jacks" to bring back to our campsite.
