El Super Burrito has been an all time favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. I have been coming here since I was a little girl, and it is still one of my go to spots whenever I want a burrito that never disappoints. What makes this place so special is not just the food, although the burritos are incredible. They are always packed, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you are craving a really good, classic burrito. The quality and consistency over the years is something that is honestly hard to find. Another thing that says a lot about this place is the staff. Many of them have been working there for almost 30 years, which really speaks to the kind of place it is. You can feel that history when you walk in. It has that true neighborhood staple energy where people know the place, trust the food, and keep coming back generation after generation. For me it is more than just a burrito spot. It is a place tied to memories growing up, and the fact that it is still just as good all these years later makes it even more special. First time trying El Super Burrito and shouldn't have went. I came by with friend on Friday night at 7:30 pm. Prices are average. I got the super al pastor burrito and it was bad. 5 bites in and only rice/beans. The meat was dry. The burrito fell apart and all the oil dripped out. Very oily. That was an incredible find 450 miles from home! I was looking for something to eat after a long day(about 30 minutes before closing). I found this restaurant on Yelp because of its close proximity to the place I was staying. It was located on a Main Street. Parking was ample for the time I was there but I can see how it could get overloaded. The location is small but it worked...again at the time I was there. They had videos on loop so you would see the food on the screen. I ordered wayyyyy too much food as I was dining alone while on a business trip. Their Cali Burrito was a giant! It was absolutely delicious. Coming from Los Angeles, I've had more than my fair share of these. The meats were excellent. It was filled with fries, fresh guac, and pico de gallo. I'd guess it blew past a pound in weight and it was definitely appreciated! I also ordered the Carnitas Quesadilla. I was so full from my burrito that I barely touched it but it, like the burrito, did NOT disappoint. Another giant of a quesadilla and surely could be an item to share among two or more. If you enjoy quesadillas, this may become your favorite. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would. Greetings to all, this is my first time back to El Super Burrito in 7 years, our first experience here wasn't great at all, but this time I am happy to say that they have improved over time. The outside of the restaurant stayed pretty much the same, as well as the inside which has enough seating for a small lunch crowd. The service was great, and it came from an assembly line of beautiful ladies working at a generous pace to put out their best products as possible. I decided to test them though, l ordered a large Veggie Burrito with extra queso , they nailed it; it was very tasty. So after a 7 year hiatus, I will continue to come back for more of their tasty dishes. For me, this restaurant is a solid 3.5 with only room to get better. OMG, I've heard so many good things about this place. I've wanted to try it for myself for a long time now. I had the opportunity to go with my cousin, and took it. We were ordering for four to go. 2 super burritos, Tostada, and a taco plate. By the time I watched all these girls with their disgustingly dirty non food grade gloves, that looked like they hadn't been changed all day touching everything, I was so grossed out! I saw so many violations. If I was an inspector I would have shut them down! Anyway, by the time we got back home I'd lost my appetite. But I was just curious enough because of all the hype, I had to take a bite of my tacos Al Pastor. Awful! I've never had sweet Pastor. Hello, It's BBQ! Needless to say, I will never be returning. I'm not sure what the hype was but not the best spot. Feels like you have to speak their language or be a regular to get a good order. Makes me a little sad to see that because I wanted some good food. If you have a spanish speaking friend I'd highly recommend coming here with them or they'll be a bit more lack luster with service. I would come here again if I needed something close by. The waitstaff is polite and you order your food and sit down. Honestly was not expecting this spot to be so good! This restaurant is located in Milbrae and it is pretty tucked off. They have plenty of parking and have indoor seating. They have a lot of menu items to choose from. We ordered a super burrito and added sour cream as the super burrito does not come with sour cream. The flavors were fresh and they did not skimp on the protein. We had the carne asada and shrimp. We also ordered tacos which they packed with lots of meat. Grew up in the area and always ate there. Moved to the east bay and was in town. Ordered 4 burritos and a super quesadilla. The quesadilla was the only thing good. The burritos were 90% rice maybe half a scoop of meat and the one we didn't want rice on had extra. Gave exact order to the lady and even had her put names so there was no confusion. Still all wrong. So disappointed!! Their food was so good and it is nothing g like before. I even told her I was driving far back so I wanted to make sure it was correct... so much for that. El Super Burrito has been a part of the Millbrae community for decades and I think this is a pretty good Mexican spot. The service is pretty good and friendly and parking isn't difficult to find. The building exterior and interior is definitely on the older side, but it's still comfortable enough. It could definitely be cleaner. It's your typical order at the counter and grab your food when your order number is ready. I recently ordered the Steak Taco ($3.95) and Birria Taco ($5.90) plus a Horchata. The horchata wasn't watery and you can taste the cinnamon flavor. I tried their Birrita Taco for the first time and surprisingly it's really good. It was loaded with meat and cheese and the Consomé was perfect to me especially when you squeeze some lime juice into it. I would definitely get their birria tacos again in the future. It's a 10/10 for me. The Steak Taco was also pretty good and the tortilla had a nice texture. Steak was well seasoned although I wish it was a little more tender, but its was flavorful overall. I also tried a bite of the steak quesadilla and it's a pretty standard quesadilla, but it hits the spot honestly. The meat and cheese ratio they do pretty well. What I also like is that the portions of everything is pretty big including the burritos. This place definitely leaves you stuffed after your meal. We asked for black beans and they put refried beans and when we told them about it she was talking smack why we told them if we didn't want to get a replacement. AlsoThe lady that took our order refused to speak English to me since my girlfriend was speaking Spanish which I do not speak and that was uncomfortable. I work in San Mateo and this is my go to place for their steak and shrimp burrito. My coworker always picks it up for me so I am leaving this review for the food only. The meat is tender and the shrimp are large. The quality and size are worth the price and drive. My family and I have been eyeing El Super Burrito for a few years now, especially since one of my hula sisters praised them as a Millbrae favourite spot. We finally tried them out for dinner take-out on Friday, November 4, 2022. We sent our eldest to pick up the food. His comments on his visit were that the eatery was fairly busy with several patrons eating in, service was good, but cleanliness could be improved inside, and the parking lot was awkward with a one way entrance and exit. What we ordered: CALIFORNIA BURRITO (steak, no avocado) - big size/portion, but had more sour cream than expected. BREAKFAST BURRITO (chorizo) - good; Hubby was satisfied by the size and the taste. TOSTADA (GROUND BEEF) - nice taste, but could have used more lettuce and was drowning in sour cream and guacamole. The shell was slightly stale. HORCHATA - fortunately, had minimal chalky powder residue at the bottom of the cup. Free chips were also a bit stale.
