El Super Burrito is a place I frequently visit! I can't get enough of their extensive menu offerings, and even though there are occasional wait times, it's worth it. The same cashier is consistently friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall positive atmosphere. There is a lot of inside seating. My current top picks are the Birria and Camaron tacos, and I recently tried their Fajita plate, which was a solid surprise. Tried this after work one day and ordered the hardshell tacos with ground meat. The tacos were pretty good but a little on the small side, but good none the less. The salsa was good and served with my tacos along with some chips. I did find one thing odd was their assembly line to building the food. It seems to not flow and slows down the food service process. My review is only my first impression of this place. I have a strong opinion that quantity usually affects quality (the more choices, the less quality the dishes will be made, if we are not talking about restaurants, which usually have a whole team of cooks, but about local business of this type). This place has a large list of dishes on the menu, which always confuses customers, especially if they are visiting it for the first time. In addition, I was little frustrated with the cheese. It was salty and almost didn't stretch in my burrito, but I love cheese so much However, the ingredients were fresh and the tortilla was very tasty, but I lacked vegetables in the overall picture (surprisingly, there was plenty of shrimp). Bonus: they put nachos and sauce in for free! As a millbrae native, I've been a patron of El Super Burrito since 1997. Unfortunately, tonight I went there for the last time. I ordered two chiquito cheapo burritos via phone, the listed price online is $7.95. I went in store to pick it up my order and noticed the same item is priced at $6.50. I brought this price difference to the cashier attention and she replied with "I don't know, that price on the display is wrong." She started talking to another employee about the matter who has been there since I could remember, and that employee said that it was because I ordered guacamole. This would make sense, but the screen that shows you the items had added that as an extra. I told them the price for two should be $13 not $15.90. They both said that is the price and that there was nothing they could do. At this point the manager was summoned to the cash register. The manager, who has also been there since I could remember, asked what the problem was. I repeated what I had told the other two employees and she said that the in store price was wrong and that there was nothing she can do, and she was not polite about it either. I told her that I want to pay the lowest posted price, which is my right by law. She then told me I cannot have it for $6.50 each which was the in store price and took my burritos away. This has nothing to do with the money but everything to do with good customer service, good business practice and following the law. I have already contacted the county and left a message with them about this matter since that is what the website says to do. You can only imagine over the years how much they have overcharged people and probably do not care with the reaction that I received today. I wonder what else they could be doing? I have attached their online price, in store price, and the county consumer website for reference. The owner/s should train their employees with the necessary laws of the food industry to avoid possibly class action law suits that can occur from these type of mistakes. read more

My husband and I used to order the burritos and nachos from El Super Burrito all the time! Everything was always so fresh! Ordering took only few minutes and you were on your way.! We moved out of the area and really missed our weekly super burrito night! I was used to coming here and the place felt like a sauna Now the fans are going and the AC is on, on hot days. I'm sure that's one of the reasons why the employees seem happier. Well that was a rather caucasian experience. Maybe I'm just used to San Jose tacos. I got 6 tacos: 2 chicken, 2 steak, and 2 Al pastor. 1 of the tacos was given for free. 2 sets of chips and 2 containers of salsa were added to my bag for free; great start! The good: The staff was friendly and pleasant. Al Pastor meat was flavorful. Portions are good, maybe even great. Chips are authentic and made out of real tortillas, seemed to have been made in-house. The not so good: No beer. Maybe some silly Millbrae ordinance I'm not aware of? And no salsa picante; actually no salsa choices at all. Pico de gallo (80% chopped tomato) on every taco, and tomato sauce from a can given as the side to the real chips. The "Authentic Mexican Tacos" were not like tacos Mexicanos I was expecting. Tortillas were doubled up but not very toasted, became soggy by the time I sat down at a table and of course fell apart, chopped tomato everywhere, almost no onion or cilantro. Grilled chicken seemed kind of unseasoned and steak didn't seem to have been marinated or anything. There was an older white gentleman sitting nearby me talking on his phone saying "We should sue him, he has it out of us rich folks". Not sure he understood the irony of his own statement, but it quickly summed up the local demographic for me. I would attempt to call in my order and no answer. Tonight I thought I would give them a try.
