My first time here and the tacos were great! So filling and delish! Nachos were yummers. Glad to find this place on San Mateo Ave. I'm coming back! You should try it.

Came here for a first visit dinner. It took a while to place order but food came out promptly. The service is fine and did the job. The ambiance is casual.

I have made a couple of visits since my first time here even though I said I wouldn't return, it has made a huge turn for the better. The staff as soon as you walk in has been friendly and inviting. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable about the different dishes that are offered. The kitchen is always super busy making sure the orders are made to perfection. At the center of the restaurant is the pupusa work station that makes fresh as you order flavorful food. Our server was busy helping other tables but she still made sure our table was taken care of. Very impressed with the major changes since my first visit. Excellent food with great service, giving them a chance to do better and they definitely have.

Ordered takeout: cheese & bean nachos and pupusas. Nachos were generous and chips were crunchy. Even portions of beans & cheese. Great snack! The pupusas were large in size - one kept me full. Nice picked slaw. Thanks!

Came when they had a large group that took over inside of restaurant. Group was very loud and seem to overflow into the patio area where regular customers were seated. Observed some drinking that were definitely under aged. Food was good and tasty. I'll make sure I come when things are not so wild

Taqueria Leon catered my niece's birthday party and they were just fantastic! The chicken, carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor were delicious. They made tacos, quesadillas, rice, beans, and tortas. The strawberry agua fresca, and the horchata were so good, not too sweet thank God. Reasonably priced, exceptional service and friendly caterers. I will definitely book again for my next party. Thank you so very much!

I've been looking for some good burrito spots in San Bruno and stumbled upon this gem! The architecture of the building itself is pretty cool but the real hit was the Al pastor burrito I got! I did not have high hopes for this place because it wasn't busy but my expectations were beat by miles! I highly recommend trying out their burritos, I haven't tried any of their other menu items yet but I would be willing to come back and try.

The BEST burrito I've ever had. I get the Al pastor burrito with pinto beans and it's *ALWAYS* so juicy. The melted cheese is a major plus. Hands down.

If you're looking for the best michelada, look no further. Craving pupusas? They've got em here too. Big bowl of caldo on the weekend? Yup. The service is friendly, the music is always slappin, and the food is delicious!

Trash! I don't know what happened to this place, they have slowly gone down hill. I decided to give them another shot today and got a simple asada burrito, didn't enjoy one bite. No flavor in anything. Didn't even bother finishing it, just a waste of money.

Stumbled upon this amazing place with my group of friends and wow I can't say enough about the quality of food and amazing service. Top notch flavor and meat was flavorful the cook will do anything u can think of. Amazing and I will be back for more.

Ehh... I can't say I was a fan. I asked for the regular tacos, but received (and was charged for) the "super tacos" which has sour cream, beans, guacamole, and cheese. I got the carne asada and carnitas. These weren't really worth $6.99 each. The carne asada was dry and didn't taste like the meat was marinated. The carnitas was okay, but the flavor was ruined by the sour cream. I also thought it was weird that they use flour vs corn tortillas. Also, I wasn't a fan of their 3% credit card fee. I wish this was mentioned BEFORE handing over my credit card. I noticed the sign as signing my receipt (which wasn't itemized), so I didn't realize that I was being charged for the incorrect tacos. Lastly, there wasn't a salsa bar. We did receive some chips and a cup of very mild salsa though. It would have been nice to have been given a variety of salsas to eat with the tacos.

Came in with the family yesterday as we were referred by my sister in law. Walking in the front door you see how clean the restaurant is. The staff was so very friendly. It was a nice comfortable environment. The restrooms were clean as well and that's a huge plus. I got the emoladas which is enchiladas with mole sauce and rice only. I do not like beans much. Mole is my most favorite food and it is hard to find a place that makes it the way my grandmother does. I do not like the sweet mole. The mole from here was almost exactly like my grandmas, the taste and texture. The rice was also so good. I also got an horchata and it was tasty, perfectly made as I do not really like sweet stuff. This was made to perfection, it did not taste sweet at all. The food is reasonably priced as the taste makes it well worth it, as well as the customer service. Our waitress was consistently checking if we needed anything and it just made the whole visit great.

So there I was...driving around a little lost, gas gauge on empty, overcast skies and a steady…read moredrizzle falling across South San Francisco. Then it happened...the dreaded "I'm HANGRY" mood swings began to convulse. You know the symptoms....Every stoplight suddenly lasts an eternity. Every driver is officially in your way. And the phrase "I'll just eat when I get home" becomes one of the biggest lies you've ever told yourself. Translation...I gotta EAT. Then, almost like divine culinary intervention, a familiar aroma drifted through my open window. Fresh masa, sizzling manteca, and seasoned pork. I instinctively slowed the car, rolled down the window, and followed my nose like a bloodhound that had suddenly discovered happiness. There it was...a small food trailer quietly tucked beside a popular city park in South San Francisco. No flashing signs. No trendy décor. No influencer taking selfies with their lunch. Just a humble mobile kitchen with one important mission...feed hungry people extraordinarily well. Meet Garcia's Salvadorean Kitchen. This quiet, unassuming hole-in-the-wall-on-wheels serves some of the finest Salvadoran comfort food I've had the pleasure of devouring. And I absolutely LOVE finding places like this. With my hunger significantly impairing all reasonable decision-making skills, I did the only logical thing. I ordered...every single pupusa on the menu. It was either an excellent decision...or a cry for help. Thankfully, it turned out to be the first one. Each pupusa arrived beautifully griddled with lightly crisp edges, giving way to warm, tender masa that practically melted into its fillings. Every bite delivered that magical balance of textures and flavors that makes Salvadoran cuisine so wonderfully comforting. The cheese was gloriously gooey, creamy, and just salty enough to stretch into those satisfying strings that make you smile before the next bite even reaches your mouth. The beans were smooth, earthy, and gently seasoned with hints of garlic and onion, adding warmth and heartiness without ever stealing the spotlight. The chicharrón filling was deeply savory with a smoky, well-seasoned richness that was indulgent without feeling heavy or greasy. Then came the unsung hero...The curtido. Bright. Tangy. Crunchy. Its refreshing acidity cut beautifully through the richness of the pupusas, while the homemade salsa roja added just enough smokiness and gentle heat to tie everything together. Each bite became a perfect harmony of sweet, savory, salty, tangy, and just a whisper of spice....comfort food at its finest. The kind that wraps around you like a warm hug on a cool, drizzly afternoon. By the end of the meal, I wasn't just full. I was already planning my next visit. Because places like Garcia's don't simply feed you...they remind you why searching for hidden neighborhood gems is one of life's greatest adventures. Forget the fancy dining rooms. Forget the trendy food halls. Sometimes the best meal in town comes from a little trailer quietly parked beside a neighborhood park. Overall: 5 stars. Outstanding pupusas, authentic Salvadoran comfort food, warm hospitality, and flavors that linger long after the last bite. Garcia's Salvadorean Kitchen proves that extraordinary cooking doesn't need a big building...just fresh ingredients, generations of tradition, and people who cook with heart. This little mobile hole-in-the-wall doesn't just compete...It wins the race. Come hungry...and Go Big!!!

I'd give them about a 3.5 out of 5. On a good day, they come out with that perfect golden-brown finish. On a bad day, they look and taste undercooked to the point where I've had to throw them back on the stove at home just to make them edible. The ambiance doesn't do much to help. It's your typical Mission-style Latin restaurant, kind of sticky and worn-in, but in a way where you can't quite tell if it's part of the aesthetic or just a lack of upkeep. Now, let's get into why this leans closer to a one-star experience. The staff consistently come off like they'd rather be anywhere else. They don't smile and often come across as rude. Timing is basically a suggestion here. If you place a takeout order, plan well ahead, at least 45 to 60 minutes before pickup. Every single time I've called, I've been told 25 to 30 minutes, only to arrive and wait another 15 to 20 minutes. Without fail. And in a neighborhood where parking is already a headache, with limited meters and tight timing, you'll feel that delay. Your patience will absolutely be tested. Don't say I didn't warn you. Update: Today's order included a hit inside the cheese mixture of the Pupusas. Disgusting.
