I'm typically a fan of Chipotle. The locations I've been to back in AZ and in IL are a little different than this one. Here the service seemed fairly slow compared to what I'm used to, despite the fact they had a sufficient number of people working at the counter. I think the hold up was at the register. I'm not a fan of the new decor sprouting up at Chipotle either. A couple of the newer locations have communal seating at large tables. Thanks, but I rather eat with my own party rather than a group of strangers. Food was just as good as the other locations I've been to. I can't believe my first review for the year 2013 is going to be a chain, but I'm in Dover DE for the month and that's all this place has to offer. Typical Chipotle decor and still looks new and clean. However the service was probably the worst I ever encountered at the usually nice and efficient establishment. They had about 6 people working behind the counter. You'd think they'd be quick and smooth. NOPE! The workers were too busy in their own conversation to pay attention and help the customers. I had to repeat what I wanted several times and STILL they put beans in my burrito bowl. I felt so frustrated and wanted to reach over and put on the toppings on myself. It wasn't very crowded so there was no need to have all those employees working the line. Extremely disappointed. And what's worse is that when I went home it didn't taste as good. Everyone knows Chipotle. The Dover DE location is fast, friendly, and accurate. The food is always hot and ingredients fresh. I didn't enjoy the manger screaming "LET'S GO DOVER PICK IT UP!!" the whole time I was there, but I did appreciate the effort in keeping her team motivated to provide exemplary service. Which is exactly what I received. I enjoyed a Burrito Bowl with brown rice, black beans, a half n half steak/barbacoa, fajita veggies, lettuce, sour cream, cheese and Mild+Medium salsa, with a bottled water. Wow! What an awful experience! The burrito should have been called a rice bowl--I repeatedly wandered...'Where's The Beef'!! The toppings were tasteless and sparse--I never witnessed the poor prep quality at any of the many Chipotle locations we patronized in the past. Plus if your eating in at the 9 o'clock hour they will drop water under your feet and start squeegeeing under your feet. I totally heart Chipotle! It's a great stop for a quick casual lunch or dinner. I love the no frills atmosphere and fresh food prepared on site. I can't help but respect any restaurant that let's me see into the kitchen AND tells me where the food comes from. The staff is also great, they are always friendly and smiling no matter how busy they might be. I eat here so often that they already know my order before I even ask! The girl at the counter smiles and says "Single taco?" I always giggle 'Yep, that's me!" Nice escape from the fast food drive thru joints that you see up and down Route 13. read more

Yes it's crowded always. Probably because it's right across the street from del state. But it's great food all the time. I think the chicken is a little spicy but I just put more sour cream to tone it down. We have had them cater events and it's been fantastic. You can also place your order online and pick it up to save time. Parking is not great and getting in and out is a pain, but hey it's the only chipotle for like forty miles. read more

If I could give this company Zero Stars I would. I went to the Dover restaurant last week, asked for them to do 24 individual bowls, it was to many bowls to do online. So I went directly to the store (with 24 hours notice) asked for the manager explained my situation, and was told flat out no that I had to do a catering order, or put the order in online. I came with a DETAILED list off of their website of 24 individual orders, and was turned away, a $400 order turned away. As a manager myself I was completely appalled. Thankfully Qudoba came to our rescue and didn't even blink an eye saying they could absolutely take care of us. I suggest chipotle really look hard at who they are hiring as managers, and their client service training because it is the worst I have ever encountered. read more

Think all Chipotles are created equal? Well this Chipotle disappoints. My wife and I recently ordered two burritos to go. Mine was half the size of hers and hers didn't have salsa. This is not the first time I've been disappointed. I have experienced a lot of inconsistencies in the portion of the burritos for a while before writing this review. My way and I will not be back. During this pandemic we try to eat at a restaurant once a week. Chipotle won. First the positive. The web site was easy to use and pay for the meal. That's where the positives end. 1. They did not offer curb side service. 2. Online orders were piled on the end of the counter, however they didn't tell the line of people waiting. A pair of young girls got tired of waiting and went up and rummaged thru the bags till they found theirs. That started the line moving, all touching every bag to find their own. 3. Not one of those servers had a face mask on. Hovering over the food with their set up without masks is irresponsible. 4. They got my order wrong. They need COVID protocols. read more

On the evening of May 10, 2017, my fiancé and our two boys dined in at Chipotle's Restaurant in Dover, DE. While midway through our meal, I was approached by the manager on duty Matt Barnes. I didn't understand what he was quite asking, but he eluded the purpose for his approach and said, "Are you doing what I think you're doing? If so, I cannot allow that in this establishment." I asked, "What do you mean what am I doing - breastfeeding?" He replied, "Yes." The encounter climaxed when I inquired his opinion on what he would like me to do and I asked him if he would prefer I go into the bathroom. Matt responded, "Yes, that would be great if you could do that!" Because the comment was actually rhetorical and not meant to be taken literally, I took extreme offense to that. Delaware enacted a law in 1997 that clarifies a mother's right to breastfeed in any location of public accommodation that she is permitted to be (31 Del. C. § 310). Because he never formally introduced himself, I wasn't even sure who he was and why he was approaching me. He began to try to reason with my fiancé and attempted to win over his support in the matter. His attempts were unsuccessful. I explained to him that I was not breaking any laws and that I would eat inside the restaurant until the commencement of my family's meal. When I called the local police station to file a report, they told me that the matter was civil and that someone had already called about it. The police officer further explained that he told the previous person who called about the incident, which I presume was Matt, that he would not be coming out because I was not breaking the law. Without any sincere apology for his actions about the way he ruined my and my family's evening, his ignorant behavior quickly escalated to a disrespectful encounter. As I left the restaurant in tears by my fiancé's side, I had never felt so humiliated in my life and knew I had to share my story to make sure that this NEVER happens to another nursing mother. Very yummy food. Sometimes the line is very long, even out the door, but it does move fast. If you order alcohol you can not take it with you. You can only drink it onsite. I am also a fan of the overall business model. So many fast food places today get their meat from shady sources. This is probably my favorite local fast food place next to chick-fil-a. read more

It pains me to write this review because I seriously love Chipotle, yesterday I ordered a sofritas bowl with guacamole, cheese, veggies, brown rice and black beans with a sofritas taco on the side. My food was delivered by Grubhub and when I opened my bowl I was just so disappointed to say the least. My bowl consisted of sour cream, brown rice and black beans. That was it. I thought well at least I have my sofritas taco! I opened my taco and there were black beans in it. That's it. Imagine ordering a steak burrito bowl and they completely forget to add the steak. Your restaurant no longer "wow's" me. I stopped by last night to get my wife a salad. There was a huge line that moved very slowly. Your speed of service needs to increase dramatically. Also, the kindness of your employees needs to dramatically improve. I felt viewed as an item going down an assembly line rather than a valued guest. If I'm paying $8+ dollars for a salad, the last I can ask for is a smile and a thank you. Your food is ok. I used to think it was awesome. It's just ok now. I'm not sure you've changed your recipes. Usually have a fantastic experience here, with both enormous portions and friendly staff. My visit today, however, warrants a scathing review. The employees I normally have pleasant experiences with were EXTREMELY rude, and informed me that it would cost me an extra $2.00 to increase the amount of meat on my burrito (something they've never before done). The burrito received wouldn't have been enough to satisfy the hunger of an infant field mouse let alone an adult human. As much as I normally enjoy the food, I'm SERIOUSLY considering not returning. I get an attitude every time I come here. The first experience last year , the rude cashier threw my guac and chips at me. Today , the girls don't pay attention to orders. She proceeds to put rice on my burrito when I specifically said NO RICE bc I don't like it. Next , the girl throws lettuce all over my burrito when I didn't ask for it. Then asks if it's ok on there and I'm like um nooo ?? So, they made my very simple burrito twice and was not too happy to do so, even though it was Their Own Mistake!!!! Their food is seasoned and cooked on premises throughout the day. As fresh as it gets! The guac will knock your SOCKS off, So good!! The staff is friendly and their service is getting progressively better since they opened last September. The outdoor seating is great with the exception that it borders a major street (Rt 13). I don't care for the seating lay out or the (at times) extremely loud music, but the quality of the food outweighs them by far. Order ahead (online or by fax) to avoid the line. read more

This review is for the Chipotle in Dover by Dover Downs. I eat here every week, at least, and am never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and always ready with a smile. The food is fresh and delicious, especially if you come during a high volume time. The place is always clean, regardless of if the line is out the door or not. I frequently see the manager giving employees pep talks and feedback, and it is clear that they communicate well and work together as a team. Part of the reason I go to Chipotle so frequently, of course, is for the fresh and healthy food options at a reasonable price, but at least half of it is for the friendly environment. Also impressed that the staff can "process" a line that is wrapped around the room and out the door (~40 people) in about 20 mins. Good work! read more

So I've eaten here a couple times and the food is ok. During lunch it can get full but the environment is great to sit down and eat. At the time they did not serve alcohol but they should by now. For a burrito in Dover I would eat here. Otherwise find a Moe's, they are so much better. read more
