We were looking forward to having Chipotle's on Thursday. Hadn't been there since COVID. We were able to park on the front row near the entrance. Walked in, noticed the flooring was darkened and stools broken, missing or leaning. Got in line and notice fewer staff, chicken and I hope or meat loaded tightly on the grill. Chipotle is my go to after work when I don't feel like cooking. The quality has really gone down. It doesn't look clean. The last time I was there, the grill was not cleaned and seem to have chicken bits all over it. The lettuce is always brown and wilted.. I have to ask for fresh lettuce. The guacamole was brown. when a place is open till 11 and you get there at 1030, it shouldn't appear the restaurant is closed. walked in and they were out of all, but one meat and it was crusted over garbage scraped off the bottom. We went here for dinner and we both ordered a steak salad bowl for $9.50. I ordered guacamole which they charge an additional $2.50 for and a splash of sour cream which they charged another dollar for. Gosh I felt like I was getting nickeled and dimed. If you look at my bowl it's nearly empty. I didn't even get a full scoop of steak which I paid $9.50 for. The guacamole was tasty but there really wasn't anything else to mix with it. Once I recognized I spent $12 on this bowl half empty bowl I was really disappointed by by the experience. To top it off they dont offer a military discount being located in a military town. This location is awful. I ordered a burrito online and it came with so much cross contamination of other ingredients that I did not order. I hate onions, and found two large onion chunks in my food, as well as corn. My appetite was ruined after I couldn't taste anything but onion. I also requested double steak, but it came out as 90% rice. I definitely did not get what I paid for. The steak also had a lot of chewy fat pieces on it that I had to spit out. This is become my go-to-fast-food restaurant. The food is tasty and healthy if you choose the right combinations. Used to come here years ago and for no real reason, just started going to other places in the area to eat. The parking lot is a decent size. When you enter, there is generally a line, but the line usually moves fast. The ordering of food is set-up like an assembly line. You start with the bowl or however you want the order to be made. Then you choose selections to add to your order. There are days that the staff are attentive & there are days that they are not. This is a bit inconsistent. I have not ever eaten in the restaurant, I always get my food to go, therefore I will not provide a rating based upon the service or the tables while eating in the restaurant. In my most recent visit, we had Burrito Bowls with Brown Rice, Chicken, Sautéed Veggies, Corn and Hot Salsa. I always get mild salsa to go along with Guacamole. The Guacamole is kinda a treat for me :). I have found the food to be fresh and tasty for a fast food restaurant. This is not in anyway not a fast food establishment. Because if inconsistent service, I am providing three stars. If the service was more consistent, I would have given them four stars. The four stars are for the healthy alternative to the other fast food places and for food that is tasty for fast food that is healthy. read more

When I entered the building there were about 13 to 15 people in front of me, I looked down to answer a text a minute or two after waiting in line, and when I looked back up, there were only two people in front of me, and they had already completed their order. Appalling. I've been to this location many times before but today was awful. I walked in with no real line and they inform us they're out of chicken. That's no big deal. It happens. I proceed to order a steak bowl and received pinto bean juice instead of actual beans and very little rice. I get to checkout and the cashier is less then enthused. She's slow and obviously does not care. She then forgets to give me my chips and then is bothered by me asking for them. Lastly, the soda Stanton is trashed with trash in the straw holder. It's a chain restaurant Chipotle. It's busy at lunch and after work, but the workers try their best to get you through the line as quick as possible. The best way to get more bang for your buck is to double up on ingredients. I.e. Half brown /half white rice, two kinda of meat, black/pinto beans, two kinds of salsa (try the corn, it gives a spectacular flavor boost), and your cheese, sour cream, lettuce and (yes, you know it's extra) guacamole. This was my first time in a Chipolte and after this meal it will not be my last! I did find it weird that they don't have a location in Wilmington but that they have on in Dover! I was down for race weekend and was a in need of food STAT so i decided to stop in. I ordered the veggie tacos which came three to an order which was more than enough for me. They are a little stingy w/ the rice but the beans and other additions were plentiful. My order rang in for a mere 6.25 without drink or chips ( the extra calories were not need) Id def come back the ingredients were fresh my tacos were delicious and the service was pretty friendly. I can kinda sorta see the attraction here. Relatively healthy food, well seasoned, and filling. But the way you have to order it makes your enthusiasm decline with each ticking moment. A long line, sometimes wrapping around the building. And then you order station-by-station (rice, a choice of meat, which salsa, etc etc) and don't DARE go out of the order that has been decreed by the inventors (shhh McD) of the Chipotle Method. After you go through this assembly line, anyone with a lick of sense can tell we're getting fast food, made to order, but pre-cooked nonetheless. I had a burrito bowl with steak and it was relatively well flavored; the salsa had some kick and it was very filling. My dining companion (a good cook) liked his a lot, and went home to reinvent it for his own dinner table. The decor is pseudo-hip-recycled-plywood no frills, but if you examine the chairs (uncomfortable flat platforms) and the walls which look like bolted-on plywood, you will see they are specially manufactured for Chipotle and as for being green and recycled, probably not. It's a faux we're-so-green look that makes me kind of depressed. That, and the ridiculous cafeteria line, and I just don't feel the urge to visit much. But they won't miss me, as they are right across the street from the Del State U campus and students who are health conscious like this place.
