Just a few blocks from the Carroll St station, tucked away on a quiet block on Smith St. Upon entering, you get a warm welcome from the staff and points to all their special features... the display has a wide variety of cookies available, from the thick chunky to the thin, to the seasonal ones! Guess it's almost Fall - so I see pumpkin spice! Wanted to try a variety and selected OG chocolate chip (thick) and (thin), pumpkin spice (thick), oats & cranberries (thick) and oatmeal raisin (thin). We came on Monday at around 2-3 pm and there was only one person working. It could be b/c they're generally slow around this time or it was holiday planning given it was MLK day. This would be be third time coming to a Chip City. The first time was many years ago for a yelp elite event on the west side and the second time was on the upper east side. The cookies are thick and soft. We tried the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Definitely very decadent. Probably should split among 2-3 people. They are also on too good to go so you can get four cookies (not of your choosing) for around 7 dollars not including tax. We will be adding this to our favorites. read more

This location is much larger than some of the others, and I think it is a bit older as well. Though some parts of the space are a bit worn, it is still a bright and welcoming shop. The staff is friendly, and the majority of the cookies look amazing. My partner and I were craving something sweet, so we found ourselves walking in to chip city for dessert. We ordered 3 cookies (don't worry we didn't finish them!): Red Velvet Oreo Choc Chip, Smores, and Cookie Butter. My favorite was the cookie butter, followed by the smores and then the red velvet... though all were delicious! Since the cookies were pretty big and filling, we each had a quarter of each cookie and were satisfied. I got the hot chocolate and cookies and cream cookies. The cookie is thick and warm. The hot chocolate is basically just milk. It is not hot/warm and there is no "chocolate" taste in it. Who can say no to a cookie? Chip city and their rotational selection of cookies keeps things interesting since they offer new flavors every week (but some are only available fridays and saturdays). The shop is a well run establishment that lets to come in and order and out in less than 3 minutes, given you know what you want and not frozen by decision paralysis. I don't know if it's this particular location or the company as a whole however, every time I visit I'm always left disappointed. The cookies are burnt, flat and lacking overall. I visited today due to the reemergence of my beloved blueberry cheesecake cookie and was surprised to see only five blueberries in my cookie. It was the least tastiest cookie I've ever had. Chip CIty just happens to be on our route so when ever we are working in this area with the crew we stop over here; 1st we get our dinner which is our lunch, we have a pizza shop; Chinese restaurant; Greek restaurant & two deli's right on the same block & same side of the street so this location satisfies all !! Then we almost always all go in to get warm or even hot cooking if ya lucky when they just come out of the oven !! Our favorites; their Chocolate Chip; Blueberry Cheesecake; Smoor's; PBJ; Oatmeal Apple pie, every day they mix their selection up .... Their Coffee is very delicious & always fresh Also had their cappuccino another pleaser !!! Their servers are always welcoming & super friendly and out going !! Now I'm a big cookie lover, especially when it comes to hefty cookies packed with sizable chunks. I came to Chip City looking to fulfill my cravings. Upon arriving at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday, they already ran out of one flavor but there was still some left for everything else. I had tried the blueberry cheesecake flavor at their West Village store in the past and enjoyed it, but I wanted to try something different. Eventually I landed on Fluffernutter, Cookies n Cream, and Butterscotch Toffee (3 for $12.50). The cashier packed the cookies in a cute lil box and taped it so that it was secure. Didn't matter bc I went for them immediately. My favorite was hands down the Fluffernutter. It tasted as expected--peanut butter cookie goodness. The Cookies n Cream, outside of actual chunks of Oreo, weirdly was giving...dough (flavor wise, not texturally). I didn't love that, as I was expecting more of a milky/cream flavor in the cookie. As for the Butterscotch Toffee, it was just too gosh darn sweet. Still good but I needed many gulps of water to finish the whole cookie. read more

What made this a great experience was the customer service. The two people working on Saturday the 22 in the afternoon, were phenomenal. The guy behind the counter was so informative, thoughtful with recommendations and answered all of our questions. Also a plus was their genuine friendliness! They also offer a plant based cookie! I didn't try this, but my friends did and thought it was delicious. As for the cookies I purchased; blueberry cheesecake, chocolate chicken, chocolate with pb chips and blueberry cheesecake. they were good, but only one was exceptional. The blueberry cheesecake cookie with cheesecake filling was hands down the cookie to buy (and highly recommended by the staff). The other cookies were fine, but didn't hold up well for next day eating. They rotate cookies daily so it's best to check the menu via IG on what's being served for the day. I tried the s'mores & it was okay, the chocolate peanut butter was good too, & chocolate chip is chewy but please step out the box and get the peanut butter & jelly. Giant gooey cookies within walking distance you say? Well you don't have to tell me twice. Chip City is the type of cookies that are like a warm lump of cookie dough that make you feel like you wanna die after eating one but in a good way. I do recommend sharing though, or splitting up the experience into a couple of days eating. Or just shoving it all in your mouth in one go and allowing the sweet feeling of sugar coma wash over you for a couple of hours. Flavors I had are as follows: Regular chocolate chip - great, perfect, exactly what you think it'll be like. Chocolate chocolate chip - what you expect but with WHITE chocolate chocolate chips on top of regular chocolate chips in your chocolate cookie. Dynamite. Baklava cookie - oh girl. What? Yes. Baklava philo dough wrapped brown butter cookie with a chopped walnut interior. Oh man. SO much. So good. Loved it. Only two per person. Then they also have a peanut butter and jelly cookie but I'm gonna level with y'all, that is not my jam and I avoided it. If it sounds like your jam I'm sure you'll love it though, why wouldn't you. My chocolate chip cookie cravings !!!!! Food 4/5- Omg the cookies were amazing. When they're fresh out of the oven they just melt in your mouth. We bought a box of six and they are so filling. I can't stop thinking about the cookies. The chocolate chip in particular is my favorite. It literally is to die for. When you taste the inside of the cookie, the dough is just amazing! I don't know what they used but it was lovely. The dairy free one was sad. I would not order that one again. It crumbled so easily and was super dry. Sorry for anyone who orders it.
