Thanks to an opportunity to try this out at a Yelp Elite Event, I had to come back to get some more because I truly enjoyed the food - and I found out that Rabano and Chinollo are by the same owners! As Alison C. pointed out, "Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion." All credits to them for this because the menu makes so much sense in that light. There are 2 different and super convenient ways to order: If you want to talk to someone, you can go up to the cashiers; if you don't want to talk to anyone, there are 2 self-service kiosks. While there is seating indoors, I've always come after work hours and at that time, it seems to be primarily a to-go restaurant. I've been slowly working my way through their Wonder Bowls option - and what I've tried so far are: 0. Base options: Rice, ancient grains (mix of quinoa and other grains), raw greens, garlic noodle, or even a half-half combo of any two options. I agree with Belle C.'s comment about the garlic noodles in that it's "not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate)". Go to any Asian restaurant, Chinese, Indo-Chinese, Viet, and the garlic noodles have tonnes of fragrant & noticeable garlic in it while this simply did not. I like getting rice or ancient grains (for extra fibre) as my base over the greens or garlic noodles. Overall, a great spot with fast & lovely service, healthy & delicious portions of food (enough for two meals for me), and delicious drinks that I recommend especially for to-go orders after work. Also lovely for workers nearby to sit down or get something quick, filing, and tasty! 1. Baja Bowl (GF, RV): Choice of base. Black beans, sweet corn, avocado, cashew-chipotle sauce, pico de gallo. Choice of free-range chicken, organic tofu or pulled pork. For steak add $1. Other choices of protein also available. I love getting this with tofu for an extra dose of fibre from veggies; that sweetness of sweet corn with the salty-creaminess of the black beans go so well with the creamy sauce. 2. Farm Veggie Bowl (V): Vegan. Choice of base. Best of season grilled vegetables, cashew-chipotle sauce, hydro watercress. Add black beans on request. Available: add protein of choice. One of my favourite veggie bowls; I do recommend adding the black beans for more fibre & protein. Such a delicious and filling bowl that's fresh. 3. Chico Cubano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Pulled pork Cuban style, mojo criollo sauce, black beans, red pickled onions, parsley, sweet plantains. other choices of proteins available. This is my absolute favourite dish specifically because of the black beans; I enjoy it so much that I've been asking for a side of them as well. It's a hefty portion of pulled pork as well and 3 chunky plantains cooked to perfection. I do wish there was little bit more of the picked onions to cut through the fatty pork as well as the mojo criollo sauce, but other than that, if you get a bite of everything, it's delicious. 4. Saltado Peruano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Sauteed onion, tomatoes, huacatay sauce, aji panca, cilantro, potato fries. Choice of free-range chicken or tofu. For steak, add $1. Other choices of protein also available. The huacatay with the steak, onions, and tomatoes is so fresh and filling; I like to dip the potatoes in the aji panca after a few bites of everything else. The potatoes are a thick cut, so it can become a tough bite at times. Pro-tip: Eat this one right away as the potatoes can get soggy pretty quickly. I do wish they gave more aji, but other than that, a delicious dish, especially with steak (which I prefered over chicken or tofu). 5. El Koreano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Grilled certified angus steak, baby bok choy, cucumber, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze. Other choices of protein also available. I've had this, but I can't say it's my favourite; I would personally go get banchan from a Korean restaurant and enjoy that as a "bowl" than this. There's something about the house kimchi that I don't enjoy as much as I do from Korean establishments. My real complaint isn't about the food, but the to-go container; since it's not plastic, it gets soggy very quickly and loses shape from all the food in the container, causing it to scrape into the food when I use a spoon or fork to eat. My go-to drink is the Zingy; the blend of tartiness from the lemon, the bright punch from the ginger, and Its ingredients are: Fresh ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne pepper, raw organic sugar, sparkling water. My partner likes the honey lemonade, especially because you can adjust the sweetness, and actually taste the honey. Its got freshly squeezed lemon, raw organic honey, organic raw sugar.

They have everything from salad bowls to burgers to burritos to soups to matcha lattes. They seem quite popular even on a Thursday at 2pm as there was a steady flow of take out orders. To order: There's 2 ordering kiosks as well as 2 cashiers to take the order & payment. Then they bring your meal to the table. They let you customize the bowl base with rice, raw greens, garlic noodle, or even 1/2 and 1/2. I tried 1/2 raw greens (10/10) and 1/2 garlic noodle (5/10, not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate). There's a water jug with lemons if you would like to drink water but their drink menu is extensive from lemonades to teas (milk tea, fruit tea, hot tea), crafted pops, and lattes. With 6 tables of 4 inside and 2 tables of 8 as well as 4 tables of 2 outside, there's plenty of seating. Parking: shared lot for the strip mall Got the: 1. Honey lemonade: 9/10, even though they let you adjust the sweetness, it was the perfect level of sweetness at regular 2. VIP Poke bowl: 9/10, it came with a decent amount of tuna, although there were 2 pieces with so much tendon that I had to spit those out. You could tell seaweed salad was frozen as it was still icy in the bowl, but the day was so hot (they didn't have AC on inside) that by the time I was halfway through my meal it had warmed to the perfect temperature. Overall a great place that seems well loved by customers!

It is located in a small plaza across from Galaxy Park which makes it great for post-workout or if you want to walk around a bit after eating or just casual eats. There's also a great dessert place in the area (Ken's Ice Cream Parlor). It's self-serve, but when our party got there the kiosk wasn't working (they did fix it after we ordered). The menu prices online when we searched through our phones are outdated so when we ordered at the register food was pricier than expected. However, the food was really good. -Edamame wontons are a new favorite for me! I'll have to keep an eye out if I ever see them on a menu. -El California Burrito: For some reason this took the longest to make, but not sure why. The chips were warm so maybe they made them fresh? Overall service and food was made pretty quickly. My friends got the got the Korean Tacos, Groovy Burger, and Pork Belly Banh Mi and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Definitely worth a try and return visit.

Tried a sample of the curry chicken at a yelp event and really enjoyed it. I wanted to try other things on their menu and brought my coworkers with me. I ordered the pork belly Bahn mi and it was amazing. It had big chucks of flavorful and tender pork belly, plenty of vegies and the right amount of sauce. I especially appreciated the fact that the bread was toasted just right and ensured the sandwich didn't get soggy. I elected fries for my side and upgraded to truffle fries. They were nice and crispy and lot of cheese and truffle flavor. For my drink I tried the strawberry matcha. It was a great value, got 25% sweeet and it was perfect for me. Very refreshing. One of my coworkers ordered the El California burrito. It was pretty big and he couldn't stop raving about the huacatay crema. He even went up to the counter and asked for extra. Other members in my party ordered the Baja Bowl, Thai Chicken Curry and Saltado Peruano. Evryone loved their dishes and mentioned they cant wait to come back and try something new. The staff was very nice and attentive. The only thing was that I ordered 1st but received my order last but perhaps it take longer to make. Will be back to try the mojo cubano for sure!

I love their wonder bowls! Lots of variety and healthy options. Good portion of food too. I got their El Koreano over a salad base. The steak was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the pickled cucumbers. I just wish there was more gochujang sauce. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

I think I made a wonderful discovery finding about this place. Location is near CSUDH. Parking is available. Asian+Latino fusion? Sign meeeeeeeeee up. I ordered the Big Wave smoothie, it had pineapple and banana, it was creamy and refreshing and feels like a tropical vibe on an island. I ordered the El Gogi burrito and it had free-range chicken, sriracha-chipotle-mayo, sticky rice, furikake, kimchi, gochujang, cucumber, cilantro, green onion. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and not as spicy it was. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. The regular fries were okay, nothing to special but the sweet potato fries were so yummy. It had a bit of sweetness to it which balances right with the little spice in my burrito. Overall, this was a solid lunch I had and will definitely come back for more to try the rest of the menu.

I tried the chicken burrito (El California) it was delicious. It was like 16.58 with tax. Big portion and they give you chips and salsa. I asked for extra salsa no problem most places charge you for extra anything. It was clean and staff friendly.

The Vegan Burrito was good! I thought the addition of broccoli was an interesting choice and that they could have been more creative with the Asian fusion. It just felt like a standard veggie burrito from Chipotle, but with broccoli. It was good though and I really liked the black beans and salsa. I think if they included some kind of fusion salsa or sauce on the side I would have enjoyed the concept more. It was expensive, more expensive than Chiptole for almost the same thing. Food was a 3.5 to me, ambiance was a 2.5 because it smelled like paint fumes inside very badly. Thought this place was overrated and that their vegan options need a bit of a rethink.

Stopped in for dinner on my last night in the area. Wish I had stopped the first night, I would have come back a few times. The word "fresh" doesn't begin to describe the food. I had the mojo cubano sandwich and can say without a doubt it is one of the best sandwiches I've had (I'm 45). The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were so well layered I actually had to set my sandwich down, sit back and just take it in. The salad on the side was dressed perfectly and I can think of nothing that would have paired better. I'm generally a natural cut fry guy or house made chips but in this case, I wouldn't dare pass on the salad. So many things I wanted to try and I have no doubt they would have impressed as much as the cubano. If I'm back in the area, I'm going straight from LAX to Chinollo. And if they ever want to expand to the Chicago area, I'll be the first one in the door. So good. read more

Ordered for the entire Management Team today. Everyone received their food to go, and everyone was happy with their meals. Unfortunately, my meal I ordered the New World Burger. I asked for Applewood Smoked Bacon to be added to a Medium Well done burger. There was no bacon added and the burger was cooked to medium as it was still pink in the middle. On the wall in the restaurant it says "Cooked to Order" The photo on the website of this burger shows a roasted pepper on top attached with a toothpick - no roasted pepper. Subbed sweet potato fries for the Yukon Fries, they were mushy and not crispy at all. Overall, a 3 on a scale of 5. Details matter when you advertise a particular product and an order is placed in a specific way, and it is not followed. Might consider trying again. read more

Delicious and nutritious. Healthy food and great coffee. Service is kind. We ordered on the computers to the right of the entrance bc my sister is deaf and it's just easier for her to use them but their service desk is incredibly inclusive they have a welcome sign in multiple languages. They have a diverse menu with heart healthy options. The southwest chicken salad was amazing and the garlic bread that came with it was much better than croutons (disclaimer I hate croutons so this is perfect). Saw a lot of great reviews so I decided to try this new restaurant because I heard they had vegan options it is very clean inside very trendy and cute I like the self serve ordering station cant really comment on the staff because they were not really attentive at the time I came in . I ended up ordering the vegan burrito the veggies inside tasted really fresh besides that it was a decent burrito at little dry nothing too exciting about it to make me order it again . The chips that came with it were light and tasty the salsa was a little to spicy for my taste buds. Not sure if I will return to try other items on the menu it seemed a lil pricey read more

Since Covid and things are slowly opening up, online orders have been a must. But I didn't know that ordering extra cilantro ranch dressing would be an extra charge when picking up the order in person. Online did not state that nor had a price list for such extra dressing on the side. Love the food but I've ordered extra dressing on the side online before and under special instructions and was never charged. Now they're charging? After a few good recommendations from friends I decided to try Chinollo and I am so glad I did. I tried the El California Burrito. It was so good and flavorful. I also got the Bohemian Raspberry. I thought it was going to be one of those sparkling water with bland memory of fruit flavor like some others I tried, but I was so wrong. That drink was so refreshing and fruitful. We're back again today to try some different food in the menu. Despite being sick, I've got to have my wonton soup. My daughter had fell in love with the sustainable salmon with garlic noodles. My husband Noel tried the kale salad and it was the bombed. Korean steak tacos was so delicious,the meat was perfectly cook to my liking. Ordered teriyaki chicken kids meal for my daughter supposedly but she still took my salmon and still took the passion soda that came with it We ordered Chinese chicken salad and Western chicken salad that we would eat after we get home from attending Jesus Christ memorial tonight... I just can't stop! Chinollo's has to be some of the best food in Carson! This is the Southwestern Salad and it is so fresh and delicious. I also never get drinks when I eat out but this cucumber, mint refresher is crazy good. Food is great, prices are increasingly reasonable. read more

The whole experience was not ideal but at least the food was great. Our error was in not realizing they weren't yet allowing indoor eating. I can respect that so we found ourselves a couple small tables outside (they had 3 small bistro tables) and pushed them together. Unfortunately, someone came out and told us we couldn't do that and so we had to sit apart. It was alright. Ordering took a while. They looked like they were taking a LOT of takeout orders and couldn't really accommodate the people trying to order in person. Our friends ordered but then the guy got busy and we had to wait. After a while, we decided to just place an order via the computers they had along the wall. Was just a little disjointed when the other couple in our party got their food much earlier than we did. They gave one of us the wrong sandwich (cuban instead of banh mi) but to be honest, the cuban was more to my liking. The banh mi was no slouch either but I leaned more towards the flavor profile of the cuban. Other things we got: chico cubano bowl (add egg) - really great, very filling chicken noodle soup - average truffle fries - I mean, these are usually good I thought this place was a hidden gem but when you have 10 people waiting for their takeout order at 1:30pm, it's maybe not so hidden. This place is a hidden gem in Carson. Super yummy and healthy food right in front of the stub hub center. Def recommend getting a bite here before. It has an Asian fusion twist to the food. Must get the edamame wontons!! The bowls looked great, and I got the turkey burger which was a special that day. It had cranberry sauce in it which was very yummy. The fries were pretty good, I wish they had mustard they only have ketchup and siracha. Indoor and some outdoor seating. Parking is easy right out front. read more

This place is not overrated at all! The food is clean, fresh, and fit for any diet! Slightly on the pricey side though for those on a budget. You can't go wrong with their selection of healthy entrees and drinks. Chinollo exposes a magical meld of Asian and Hispanic flavors which satisfies my taste buds. To put it simply, the food is amazing! The Baja bowl with chicken, chipotle sauce, garlic noodles, black beans, corn is my favorite! I would also suggest the wonton soup, Turkey burger, Southwestern salad, California burrito, and the Thai curry shrimp! Service is awesome. If you found this place you have already won. I have not found anything on the menu I do not like. I drive all the way from noho just to eat here. The teriyaki kids plate is one of my favorites the flavors are so amazing. The southwestern salads is big, fulfilling, and delicious. The tacos are amazing as well (even the vegan tacos). I've been going to Chinollo for a while and I must say that their food never disappoints! The place is neat and clean and most of the time the staff is friendly and attentive. There was only a couple of times where I went in and the person at the front was more engaged on their phone than running the front register and one other incident where a dime was found in my brother's order. It was called in and reported and whoever answered the phone was shocked (as he was as well) which was understandable but the tone implied disbelief like it was made up. Nonetheless, Chinollo prepared a new order as they should have but what made the incident a top-tier handling by management was the owner called my sister because she placed the order and apologize an provided a gift card for future use! I stopped by today for the first time cashier was very friendly she explained the menu I ordered a saltado and a groovey burger and a strawberry lemonade when I was ready to ordered i didn't have enough and cashier told management and once again very friendly i told her I don't have enough for my drink and manager said don't worry about it just take the drink it's on the house will come back love the food and service read more

This place is one of my new favorite places to eat. Food is incredible. I've come here 5 times and gotten different items each time and was blown away every time. Favorite has been the pork belly sandwich. This place is clean, staff is friendly.. as much as I don't want to hype this place up. I can't say anything less than, this place is great. read more

Super popular with local workers and worthy of the praise. It's fairly new and already bursting at the seams. Hopefully it will get a chance to expand in the future. The food is top notch and there are interesting drink selections as well. It's a little pricey for its location and niche, but I think that it's worth it. read more
