I didn't know this place existed until tonight! I stepped in out of convenience and dare I say, it might be my new favorite Chinese buffet in town. They had a great selection of all of my favorite things, different chickens and shrimp options, and some new things I hadn't had before, like baked salmon and cheese crab. The staff was nice and everything was pretty normal, quiet, peaceful - the kicker was that the food was all just SO good. Juicy, tender, flavorful. There were a few things that didn't look great and I was nervous, but I tried them anyway and even they were fantastic. Like that may have been the best fried butterfly shrimp and beef broccoli I've ever had in my life. These guys know how to cook!! My first time and probably my last time to China Wok Buffet. Nothing particularly wrong, but the location is bad. In the parking lot, there were people yelling and cussing. Same thing happened inside. China Wok is an average Chinese buffet with the traditional Chinese entrees that all come to know and love. For a buffet, average is GOOD. Besides traditional Chinese buffet food, China Wok also has fried tilapia, crawfish, and blue crabs. Unfortunately, these are of poor quality. Crawfish and blue crabs are tiny and fried tilapia are just the heads. Nobody touches them. It was an uneasy dining experience and the mood of the place was tense when one of the customers started screaming and cussing at the group. I am not normally a fan of buffet, especially since COVID. However, I went with two friends, and I was SO impressed by this lovely little spot. Inside is unassuming and very clean...and the super-yummy smells! Right away, my mouth watered at the wonderful feeling I had of visiting a grandma's personal kitchen. The entire restaurant was vibrant and full of families. There is plenty of seating, and the service was outstanding...so attentive and kind. last, but not least, the food was AMAZING: from the soup to both meat and veggie entrees to dessert, all of the standard options were there. Great food! Recently, we got takeout (delivered via one of the many apps) and it was hot, delicious, and an EXTREMELY generous portion. It also reheated a little better than some Chinese places I've tried. I'm sure the staff are very nice! My gf has dined in and always tells me how wonderful the food and experience is! Have dined here for the last 20 years. Spacious, clean, the servers are courteous, the food is always hot, well stocked. Honestly can't think of anything negative to say. The place was smaller then most Chinese buffets I've been too. Did not have a huge variety of food but an adequate selection. Let me tell you, I didn't expect too much but the food tasted amazing. First bite into the mussels and crayfish they had and I knew this was better then any buffet I've been too. The rice noodles tasted very fresh along with everything else I had. The fried shrimp was very tasty, was a little hard to peel but tasty. The crayfish is probably the best I've had in any Chinese restaurant I've been to. The servers and staff were friendly. The lady owner or manager who is all over the place is disgustingly very rude. I think she is just plain dirty and very mean. I noticed she would give other customers very dirty looks. Really? We are paying you to stay in business. Unbelievable! She very unfairly verbally attacked my wife, it turned out she then had to deal with me. I told her you don't treat or talk to my wife like that again. She backed down after I told her to shut up. We are paying customers who deserve respect. Like all customers we also deserve respect. I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. My family and I visited China Wok and were not pleased by the experience, to say the least. When we arrived, the staff was very unfriendly. When we got our food, it was bland and lukewarm at best. Before my husband was done eating, the waitress removed his plate without asking and grabbed his silverware off his plate while touching the food he had on a napkin, which is so unsanitary. Mediocre buffet at best. I know Chinese buffets aren't held to the highest standards but this one doesn't have much going for it at all. Many of the chicken dishes had weird textures to them and I couldn't eat them. The crab Rangoon was seriously just awful--I had to spit it out. I've seen some random additions to Chinese buffets over the years, but the garlic toast they had was just strange and looked like it had been on the buffet for a few days. Service was also subpar. When I asked for a refills, waitress seemed annoyed to do her job because she was busy playing with a baby. Food was old and dry. Sushi tasted spoiled. Rice friend rice wasn't fully cooked. China Wok is your average, suburban, run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. That's probably why I like it; I know exactly what I'm going to get. This place loses points, however, because for whatever reason they don't serve alcohol; not even cheap beer. So, eat here if you're in the neighborhood and want standard Americanized Chinese food.
