    Happy Family (12/14/2022)
    Kenny W.

This is supposed to be a Happy Family. The food was as disappointing, just as this picture shows. The taste was off, and I won't order from here again. This is not what anyone should receive, when they spend $14 for the food and $7 for fees.

I'm not cute what all that grisly white stuff was ...

The food is super sketchy . I will never eat here again. The rice tasted stale. It Had that taste to it like something you have left in the fridge uncovered for days.... and a little like cig smoke- kinda tastes the was a gas station smells.. And the chicken, honestly I don't know if it was chicken. It Tasted rotten and it wasn't small pieces of chicken cut up and then breaded and fried.. it was one a hunker "chicken" that had been bartered and fried and THEN cut up- so it wasn't breaded on two sides and the exposed chicken was completely dried out ... like maybe it has been cut up days ago- I'm almost certain I will be sick just from the 3-4 bites I did eat . Regret my decision for sure . They also charge for everything - even chopsticks and soy sauce

If I could give it a score for wishing it didn't exist I would!!! I wouldn't give this unknown substance to humans or aliens!! We ordered two Szechuan chickens and three orange chickens. It was all unrecognizable! I tasted one piece of chicken and it tasted like a salt block. I called the store and all the owner would say is "no refund, you read menu!" What I read was not what I got! The Orange Chicken looked like black bird! I paid for extra mushrooms. The picture on the left is what I got once I pushed the chicken back to find the mushrooms. Photo on the right is what Szechuan should look like. Thank goodness Panda Express was open!!

    Hunan chicken was just fair

Great little dive near Brookside. Sign/prices look like they haven't been changed since the 90s. Very friendly Mom & Pop place.

You can get all the common dishes here but you can also get some unusual dishes that are very authentic. My grandson once ordered jelly fish. You can't get that at very many local restaurants. Another thing I like is that they have a couple of large round tables with lazy Susans. Our extended family sat at one of those tables once. It was fun putting the things we wanted to share on the lazy Susan and being able to spin it around and try what we wanted. It made for fun conversation talking about the different dishes. That was when our grandson ordered jellyfish. The restaurant is fairly small but the large tables make the restaurant good for groups. I think this would be an excellent place for a Yelp event. They have a lunch menu but you have to ask for it. It includes some of the popular Asian dishes for $9:95. They have smaller portions that come with a choice of soup or egg roll. Danny and I asked to see the lunch menu, but decided to order off the main menu. We split Crispy Tofu with garlic sauce and egg rolls. I liked the presentation of the egg rolls. They were cut diagonally and arranged nicely on the plate. The tofu dish was quite tasty. Next time, I plan to get Mei Fun. I have had it here before and loved the variety of flavors. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't wonderful. We got our food in a timely manner, but we felt rushed to order and she didn't check to see if we needed anything or refill our water glasses. Service here has been excellent in the past. I am glad we came back to Chengdu and were reminded of how much we like it. We will be back soon.

We had a small group and were able to get a table right away. Our table had a lazy susan in the center which is great for groups. The service was efficient and our food came out quickly. Our waitress did check on us periodically and did refill drinks. The portion size of the food was good and a little salty. I enjoyed the green beans but they had a little bit of a lemony flavor that had a weird after taste. I think the Kung Pao could have used a little more heat. The price for the food was decent.

When I moved out of Tulsa in 2015, I made sure to eat there every single time I visited town (which is at least once a year). Unfortunately, on my last recent visit, the food had sharply declined in quality. Others had told me it had declined the last year or so, but obviously I had to try it myself. They clearly changed the lo mein recipe A LOT. It used to be my favorite lo mein on the planet, now it's so painfully average you could get the same lo mein anywhere else. The vegetables and tofu also weren't as flavorful, not was the kung pao chicken. The sesame chicken was still pretty good, as were the egg rolls. I'm BEGGING you all to please bring back the old lo mein recipe and go back to what you were doing before. There's a reason you survived in that cursed strip mall for so long while so many other businesses failed. Your old recipes competed with Flushing Queens (NYC, best Chinatown in the country) and now your food is average.
