Picked up a to go order The food was OK, but for the price the portions are extremely small

I picked up a to go order. The food was OK, but I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants around my area and for the price the portions are way bigger and better food.

    Orange Chicken with rice
    Q Q.

I ordered the Orange Chicken which is deep fried. The chicken was very dry inside. This is odd because usually if you deep fry chicken it keeps it juicy. Maybe the chicken was old? The rice was nothing special, just had ham and scrambled egg. A bit bland but did have a bit of savory flavor. The lunch special was inexpensive. The service was ok, nothing special. The ambiance was as you would expect from an over done palace. All in all, I would not come here again.

    17. Mongolian Beef
    Christian Z.

My family and I have been eating here for years. They have higher quality beef & other ingredients than the other like kind establishments in town and are the best value for Thai or Chinese. I crave this place on a regular basis. I personally recommend their Mongolian beef. Their sweet and sour soup also hits the spot with a perfect balance of sweet and Spicy.

Low Lo Mein with Assorted Vegetables.

I loved the cream cheese wontons. So delicious. The low mein was great also; a tad on the dry side, could've used more sauce but the flavor was good. Great staff and owners. Very kind.

    Chicken Fried Rice

Ordered takeout on a weekday. You WILL be disappointed by the chicken fried rice. Absolutely horrendous. No bean sprouts, peas, carrots... just see the picture You WILL be disappointed with the pan fried noodles. I could have gone to the store and bought the exact same thing ! I don't have anything good to say about the fried wontons or the tangerine chicken. I've had school lunch chicken of similar quality.

This is a no frills, beautifully decorated restaurant. You cannot beat the price and the food is made fresh upon order. The food is good. The flavors are good. This is one of the best lunch spots in Bountiful. You can't beat their lunch menu and you can't beat the price! I recommend any fried chicken dish they serve. The fry on the chicken (orange, lemon, tangerine and others) is light, crispy and delicious! The egg roles are some of the best I've ever had. Lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong. They've been in the same spot for 35 years and their menu hasn't changed much. That says something!

    Singapore noodles- really good
    Nettifer W.

I have to give that many stars for their service. The lady serving me was so nice! I got the pineapple curry and it was so good. But I ordered it mild and it was so spicy. She took it back and made it even less spicy and was so great about it and educated me on it. It was a bit less spicy but still too spicy. Everyone else loved it. I loved the Singapore noodles. Loved them. Hubby got the combo plate to try a bunch of things. What we learned is that it is better to do family style instead of combo. You get way more food. The combos leave you wanting more food. The sticky rice wasn't that good. The mangoes were not ripe snd hard snd it was really runny.

    Interior of restaurant

Within this beautifully decorated interior, you will find exceptional service and Chinese food that is healthy tasting. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly greasy and salty like every other place. I found the chicken lo mein to be delicious.

Most of the food was pretty mediocre. My son refused to eat any of it. We ended up throwing out about half of it.

They said it was their favorite in town and that I just had to try it so I was really excited for it. When we arrived, we didn't realize, but it was prom night and so a lot of kids were dressed up in there prom outfits. Because we made a reservation, we were seated quickly. The server was really friendly and very helpful, very knowledgeable of the menu. We decided to do it, Family style and ordered a couple different things to share. We started off with an order of their Dumplings, then ordered cashew nut chicken, beef, and broccoli, and fried rice. The Dumplings were really big and fresh, so that was super good. The flavor was really nice. The cashew chicken was so good! The sauce that they used in the flavors were really good. The beef and broccoli was also yummy. The sauce with the seasonings that they chose, tasted like your traditional beef and broccoli. The fried rice was also very traditional. Definitely something you would expect. Overall, all the food had really great quality and tasted exactly how you would think so. I definitely think if you're looking for Chinese food in Utah, this is a great place to start.

And I'm really puzzled by the high ratings of this place here on Yelp. I had the sautéed beef, which is listed as "Sa Ti" on the menu, so when it was brought out and announced as "sautéed beef," I was a bit confused. While the vegetables were decent, the beef was tough and from the flavor was a cheap cut. The hoisin sauce was not thick enough and a bit too runny like maybe water added.(?) This also made the flavor weak. After the first disappointing bite of beef, I only picked at the vegetables. I didn't finish it nor did I ask for a take home box. In my opinion, looking over at the people at my table (I was at a club meeting), everything looked on the cheap side. They all seemed to enjoy their meals, though. The portions are huge, so you'll get a lot of mediocre food. The service was OK. We were a large party of about 45. They knew beforehand we were coming. We noticed that even though our table was first to order, we were one of the last to get our food. One person at our table got her food significantly later than we did. There was one table that still didn't have their food when we got our checks. Water refills were never checked and neither was my soda. The Dr. Pepper was good... 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Maybe they chose the colors to attract customers, who knows? Now on to the food, the prices are amazing! Oh one more thing I am Chinese and grew up eating authentic Chinese food. So I would say I'm pretty familiar with authentic and Americanized Chinese food. The popular dishes are the two combo plates. One side with two entrees is 6.25 and the size is the togo boxes with three sections. They also have another combo that comes with one side and three entrees. I think it was a dollar more, not sure? But still a great deal for such a large portion. I got the one side with two entrees, my side was the vegetable lo mein and my two entrees were the beef with string beans and sesame chicken. I was able to get a fresh batch of beef with string beans, yay! The flavor was tasty, but the beef was definitely cheap because it was chewy. My husband also got a different dish that included beef and his was also chewy. The sesame was eh, it tasted more like sweet and sour. I am a huge fan of hot and sour soup and I have tried many different ones. Their hot and sour was okay, it was kind of sour but not spicy at all. It needed a bit more flavor. I didn't hate it and I would go back if I were craving hot and sour, which is common for me haha. I definitely plan on going back to try their non combo dishes. They had many other options which is a plus for such a small place. Overall the food was decent and the workers are nice!
