I ordered the Orange Chicken which is deep fried. The chicken was very dry inside. This is odd because usually if you deep fry chicken it keeps it juicy. Maybe the chicken was old? The rice was nothing special, just had ham and scrambled egg. A bit bland but did have a bit of savory flavor. The lunch special was inexpensive. The service was ok, nothing special. Long time customer for over 15 years. love the place. So it pains me to leave a post like this as I know it could be better. However over the last few years since the son took over from him mother. The meal costs have gone up and portion sizes have gone WAY down. Very disappointing! I've mentioned this to them and its as if they don't seem to care anymore. I'm not alone as I have heard this from others too. But I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. That maybe that week things were just off. This is one of the best lunch spots in Bountiful. You can't beat their lunch menu and you can't beat the price! I recommend any fried chicken dish they serve. I have to give that many stars for their service. The lady serving me was so nice! I got the pineapple curry and it was so good. But I ordered it mild and it was so spicy. She took it back and made it even less spicy and was so great about it and educated me on it. It was a bit less spicy but still too spicy. Everyone else loved it. I loved the Singapore noodles. Loved them. Hubby got the combo plate to try a bunch of things. What we learned is that it is better to do family style instead of combo. You get way more food. This place is ok but won't knock your socks off. I have eaten here many times through the years as my family likes it and it is convenient but it would not be my first choice. Went again this month and we ordered family style and passed dishes around. Nothing I ate from the drunken noodles to the tangerine chicken knocked my socks off. I did like the fried cream cheese wontons, those who liked tofu loved the fried tofu. The sweet and sour chicken/shrimp were just ok. If I had to say anything it seems like this place is locked into the American version of Chinese food from the 80s. They offer Thai food now as well but none of us tried the curries. read more

Bland, very little flavor in the schezuan beef and Kung pao chicken. Veggies in the beef were soggy. Veggies in Kung pao were cut large and tasted a bit strange. My daughter summed it up best - this stuff tastes old. The General Tso chicken wasn't terrible, tasty sauce. But that can't make up for the terrible stir fry dishes. They deserve extra kudos for going out of their way to make a delivery for me, so let's start there. There was some address confusion, and some delivery zone confusion, but the app let my order go through and after a few phone calls, they did indeed agree to make my delivery to North Salt Lake. The driver was a nice enough guy, and I tipped him handsomely as promised. So that's a plus. The food was not a huge plus, but I was so hungry that it didn't much matter. I had an order of pot stickers that was the highlight, and they were probably middle of the road average taste. The sauce helped out the dryness a little, so I scarfed them down like I meant it. The cashew chicken, though, had its ups and downs. The chicken itself was pretty generous, and the flavor of the whole dish was okay, but it was all a little more watery than I care for and predominately celery. The ingredients did seem fresh, so that's a plus. But it just didn't come together as a dish, really--more like separate ingredients in a takeout container. Portions were somewhat generous, and they didn't skimp on the meat. My dining partner had chow mein, or so he thought, but it arrived without any noodles (is that a thing?) and judging by how much he ate, I'd say he probably didn't much enjoy it. But again, they were very nice, and made extra effort for me. And I was so hungry on a big day that I just needed some food in my stomach before consuming every sweet treat at a party later that night, so it all worked out in the end. read more

We love the service, always on top of feeling our water. And love that they don't waste so they ask if like rice so many will let something like rice just go to waste so I'm happy they ask so we don't waste. Not sure why the average on here is so low. We have been coming here for decades. My daughter worked at China Platter while in high school (and that's uhhh, a long time ago). It's a beautiful restaurant with consistent food. I have my favorites, and occasionally try out something new, but tend to stick with the "classics" we know and love. I'm really sad to write this review because my wife and I have really enjoyed the food and staff were always nice. So we ordered the number two like we have always ordered in the past. The beef and broccoli were so bad! Uneatable broccoli not cooked. The beef tasted as if it came out of a dog food can. Then to slap us in the face. The waitress said I can get you something different. And give you a discount on it. Bitch why would I want to pay for another dish when you can't make this one correct. Don't think we will be returning. This is after we waited to be seated. Told to wait then proceeded to seat other guests that came in behind us. Don't waste your time or your money. Great little spot rocked away in a quaint shopping center. Service was excellent and the food came out fast. We had fried rice, pan fried noodles, and a broccoli mix platter. All of it was really good and for cheap. The full plates of quality food for about $25. Can't ask for more. The one complaint I do have is their utensils. Need to update them. read more

I really like the Sizzling Seafood Platter cocked in a brown sauce severed on a hot hot steel platter. Plenty of cooked vegetables, strips of beef, mussels, shrimp and white rice. This one is for the hungry guy, it's a lot of food. Be sure to tell them you want it on the Combination which includes the egg rolls and other items. My other favorite is the Happy Family...... WOW.... this is the works! And you better be hungry! The wife likes the Combination Orange Chicken or the Lemon Chicken. Super good! She takes half oi it home for lunch the next day. The egg rolls were absolutely yummy, so crunchy and flavorful, with really good sweet and sour sauce. Then we got the al a carte salad, it was much more then just a salad, it had chicken and shrimp on it too, the shrimp was really good.
