We loved the vibes here and everyone was sooo kind!!! We just ordered boba and the potstickers but 10/10 would recommend!!
正宗！在這種美食荒漠的地方能吃上一桌地道的上海菜，真是件不容易的事！無論是一碗簡單的酸辣湯，還是紅燒肉，只能大大給個讚！ I stumbled upon this great restaurant during an overlay in Salt Lake. Having trucked in town after 6 days on the road coast to coast, it was God's plan, that I was able to sit down and have actual real, legitimate Chinese food, in this case, Shanghainese food. So, I'm going to start with the Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao). NOT AT ALL bought from the frozen section of a Chinese Supermarket! These were hand made, and I can taste it. Absolutely Delicious when dipped in the Zhenjiang vinegar. Bravo Next, I wanted to thank Dawson, the Owner working the magic, because he gave me a bowl of hot and sour soup that reminded me of my Childhood when another old school Shanghainese aunt made it. It was well balanced with equal sweetness, sourness, and spice. Lastly, the two main dishes, Shanghai Braised Pork and Sauteed Savory Green Beans. Absolute Flavor Bombs! Both paired well with rice, and despite not finishing all my dishes, I ate everything as a late night snack when I returned back to my hotel. I just want to end by saying, it is really nice to be out here in a city like Salt Lake, away from any China towns, and be able to enjoy Authentic Chinese food in a place where cost for supplies are higher, and transportation distances are longer for supplies. It's impressive what Dawson and his team have been able to accomplish, and the ambiance is very warm, very family oriented, and so I definitely will return the next time I'm in town. 很高興認識了老闆，Dawson 哥，有誰經過鹽湖城一定過來支持一下！
Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 First time trying Boba World and it was delicious! We got there before the dinner rush and were seated right away. The owner was working that night and took our order. We got the Eggplant and garlic, braised pork belly, mapo tofu, and soup dumplings. Everything came out super fast and was hot and fresh! While the restaurant is called Boba World, the selection was pretty small and it seemed like the focus point was more on the authentic Shanghainese style cuisine. The owner and staff were very nice and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Still a great experience overall!
Such impressive food and warm, friendly service. I wish we'd tried this place sooner, as great, non-chain restaurant food in South Davis County is hard to find! It's a small, family-owned place very close to everything in Bountiful. As others have said- absolutely get the juicy Shanghai dumplings- so good, including the sauce! We also loved the sesame beef and general Tao's chicken, but there's a huge menu with lots of future dishes to try. Will definitely need to try the boba, too!
Truly Incredible!!! Such a cozy, delicious place. We came 45 minutes before closing and were greeted with smiles, great service and fresh hot food!! Everything was 10/10. Even topped the meal off with a boba drink that did not disappoint. New favorite spot!!
We went to Boba World due to the strong recommendation from another trusted Yelper, thanks Elle M, and it did not disappoint. Great little Asian restaurant, that I can't believe I hadn't tried before. What a waste of time, if you haven't tried them yet, don't wait another day. Our first time here so we wanted to try a little of everything, knowing we would be taking a lot home for our twelve year old boy to consume after football practice, and he did. We ordered the following: Shanghai Juicy Dumplings, I'm usually a gyoza guy as I like them pan fried instead of steamed, but these were really tasty and well displayed. 5/5 Shanghai Baby Ribs with plum sauce. Great flavor, a little fatty with the bones in, not a lot of meat. Served in a bowl almost like soup. Kinda on the pricey side, and not worth it imo. 3/5 Walnut Shrimp, loved these, such good flavor. I've had these before un-breaded that I liked a little better, but still excellent. 5/5 Orange Chicken, great flavor, very nicely done. 5/5 Curry Chicken, really good, little bit of a kick. 5/5 Chicken Fried Rice, I love good fried rice, but am kind of picky about it. This fried rice was excellent, loved it. 5/5 Daughter ordered Egg Drop Soup and gave it a smiling thumbs up, 15 year old girls! 5/5 The owner/server was really nice and accommodating. Very helpful.
Came here twice. Overall, they have nice staff and some good dishes but they could use some improvement. Shanghai Soup Dumplings: 4/5. Good but I wish it had more soup. If you don't like vinegar, I recommend eating it without the sauce. Boba milk tea: 2/5. Good taste but the boba balls were deformed and not the right texture. We got 2 drinks and for both drinks the boba kept clogging up the straws and making it very hard to drink. Maybe it was a bad batch but we didn't risk ordering this again when we came in the next time. House Shanghai Fat Noodles: 4/5. Texture of noodles are great. The seasoning is good, as well as the meat (chicken) and vegetables. Could have more seasoning. Potstickers: 4/5. Good taste, good amount of filling, good texture. If you don't like vinegar, I recommend eating it without the sauce. Wonton Soup: 4/5. Big portion. Soup has good flavor. I enjoyed the vegetables, other than the broccoli and carrots (tasted not fresh or undercooked). Texture of the dumplings were great but they had little filling compared to the Shanghai Soup Dumplings and Potstickers. Ham Fried Rice: 1/5. Rice texture was hard and it tasted like it was seasoned with just soy sauce. House Crispy Chicken: 4/5. Nice crunch and taste. Scallion Pancake: 2/5. Texture is nice and crispy but the flavor is nothing special. Needs more seasoning and maybe a dipping sauce to go with it. Not sure if I will come here again. If I do, it will be to try their egg drop soup. Also, I hope they eventually get an electronic ordering system/kiosk because the man who takes your order has very illegible handwriting.
My daughter and I came here for a lunch date on a Wednesday around noon. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, grabbed some menus, and sat at a table in the back. We had the restaurant to ourselves for a little while and it was nice. The menu looked so good and I was glad they included photos of the food. We mainly came here so my daughter could try soup dumplings, so we made sure to order those (8 come in an order). We also ordered pot stickers, egg drop soup, sweet & sour chicken, Thai tea boba, and boba milk tea. Everything was fresh and fantastic! We definitely got our fill. I want to mention the boba. I've had a lot of boba, but not like that. It was warm, soft, and chewy. I want my boba like that every time! We will definitely dine here again!
A Chinese restaurant with basically any dish that you can think of! The variety might make it challenging to choose but you'll find something for everyone here! Food is made fresh and was quite good. Some of the dishes like the eggplant had way too much sauce and it was hard to finish. The Shanghai fat noodles were our favorite. So a lot of good options but I'd make sure to do some research to see which choices might be a bit tastier than some of the others
The food here is so delicious, I was planning my trip back before we were out the door. My grandson and I stopped in for lunch and had two lunch specials. The orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soup steamed rice, fried rice and cream cheese wontons. Everything was prepared fresh and was absolutely, stunningly delicious. I will never step foot in Panda Express again after having the orange chicken here. This place is a gem and I want to try everything in the menu! Service was excellent and prices are fair. Clean, too.
i met up with my friend Micah, who i hadn't seen in years! he recommend this spot in the Bountiful area, so i was blindly excited to try it out i ordered beef curry, house chow mein and coconut boba. all of it was great, but the service was also great. you need to pull up 11-3, happy lunch hour, and get these full plates for $8.95 i loved the food, i loved the ambiance and i loved seeng my good friend again here in Utah read more

I loved the authentic, delicious Shanghainese food here. Some of my favorites: 1) rice cakes with shepherds purse and pork- texture and flavor of rice cakes were amazing! Very different from usual Chinese takeout but definitely worth a try 2) eggplant w/ garlic sauce- classic dish with tons of flavor Also tried the chow mein, braised pork with soy sauce, which were mediocre. Wished the soup dumplings were a bit juicier, but was happy enough just finding authentic ones in town. Overall, very satisfied with the meal and speed at which it was prepared. Would recommend branching out to try some traditional Chinese dishes instead of defaulting to dishes like Kung Pao/General Tsos chicken. read more

My family and I went here for lunch. Absolutely amazing food and service. It was our first time there and it did not disappoint. I had the Kung Po lunch and it was awesome. Had a perfect flavor and the heat was spot on. I also had the pot stickers and the streamed dumplings, so good. Can't go to Boba World and not get a boba drink. I had the pineapple boba just super good. I am sure we will be back! I would highly recommend, simply the best. read more

Would rate 0 if I could. We never got everything in our full order, and our shrimp lo mein was incorrect. We ordered takeout and didn't realize until we drove 15 mins home and opened it to eat. Then we drove ALL the way back for our 2 missing orders of cream cheese wontons and to get the correct shrimp lo mein. The owner said he can't refund us or make it now as they're closing soon. So he said "he would remember us and to come back another time for it" for our order that we already PAID FOR mind you , and get the correct food and missing food for free. (Even tho it isn't free since we PAID already and he refused a refund ) So we just went back and the owner was there claiming to remember us and then refused to give us our food and was screaming at us saying we were scamming him. Never got our TWO ORDERS of cream cheese wontons or our shrimp lo mein- both of which we PAID for and never got refunded and instead had a horrible time , DROVE THERE AGAIN, and dealt with this HORRIBLE service. This owner needs to learn a thing or two about customer service and about "scamming people" as he claimed we were trying to do. That's 9.95x 2 for the wontons that we NEVER GOT. almost 20 bucks he scammed us there. And then 14.95 for the shrimp lo mein. We paid 66 bucks and some change total .. so he scammed us for half of our meal. Just refused to give us our food when we returned for the food this time and our refund the day of. DO NOT support this POS. I'm response to the owners comment - that is the wrong person you're thinking of, hence the inconsistencies to what you're claiming is your story read more

THE FOOD WAS SO AMAZING AND SO WAS THE BOBA! The service was amazing and we will definitely be back! The orange and sesame chicken was perfect and don't get me started on the delicious dumplings! I can't wait to try everything on the menu! Such a cute restaurant!! :) read more
The small restaurant was recommended by a friend and my wife and I loved it. The cute vibe and decor is warm and casual. We ordered the wonton soup, pot stickers, and Shanghai juicy dumplings. All the food was delicious. The soup was our favorite because of the fresh carrots, broccoli, cabbage, and zucchini next to dumplings in a rich broth. Next time we will try their namesake, Boba, for sure. I highly recommend Boba World for any person planning lunch or dinner. read more

Juicy (soup) Dumplings! BUT they were not great. I take that back... ONE was deliciously juicy. The others ripped coming off the cabbage they were steamed on, losing their tiny bit of juiciness. Tiny bit. Small portion for a pricy Scallion Pancake. Pancake (single) was super thin and not as flavorful as I am use to. I visited at an off time, in between lunch and dinner, but there were a couple larger families/tables eating in. I believe they're popular...they have good yelp reviews...maybe my time there isn't indicative. But I won't return. read more

The soup dumplings are good. The entree might as well have been labeled soup, way too much sauce that overpowers the taste of everything else. Not even the rice helps to absorb the excessive amount of sauce. This has been my consistent experience for the 3-4 times I have been there. Not going back. read more

Can't believe it has been 3 years since we were last here. One thing for sure is that they are still consistent with the taste and quality of food. The owner is very pleasant and proud of his restaurant. My youngest brother and his daughter were hanging out in Bountiful and wanted to get some grub so we picked this place. My favorites are still the baby ribs with plum sauce and the juicy dumplings. My niece loved everything and it was her first time eating Shanghai style food. They had a lot of leftovers to share with the rest of their family. For sure will be back when in the area. read more

Visiting SLC and let the man know it was our first time and wanted to dine in. Everybody was so nice here and took care of us. The food was good - It did have a lot of sauce which I personally am not a big fan of but we were ok with it. Nice setting. Parking isn't that bad at the time we went. Boba was sweet but pretty good (: read more

My SO and I ate here for the first time. The restaurant was clean. Service was fast and friendly. We both ordered dishes we had never had before because I wanted to try something different than my usual sticky chicken dishes. I had the Chow fun. My SO ordered a spicy garlic chicken and shrimp dish. He didn't like it. Said it was too sweet and not spicy at all. He also didn't like my chicken Chow fun. I liked it, but I would have preferred if we had gone with tried and true favorites instead. The pork belly comes in a sauce with flavors I'm totally unfamiliar with. Someone else's order was accidentally delivered to our table and it looked and smelled amazing. Some kind of crispy sticky garlic chicken. I recommend ordering something familiar here for your first time. read more

Boba World is quickly becoming my favorite Chinese place and it blows all the other nearby places out of the water. Here's some things to know. It's a small strip mall location. You will always see the same people working. It's family owned and you can tell. While they do serve delicious Boba, you should definitely come here for the Chinese!! Everything I've ordered has been amazing. I recommend trying any of their soups and anything with the fat noodles. A few of my favorites... Spicy beef noodle soup was incredible. Pepper Salted Chicken was delicious (lightly fried and no heavy sauce). Curry Shrimp Noodle Soup was also amazing. My only complaints are they don't serve brown rice (definitely not a deal breaker, I just love brown rice), the saucy dishes are often drowning in sauce (I'll ask for light sauce if possible in the future), and sometimes the spiciness level changes (from not spicy at all to almost too spicy). But I've never left here disappointed. It's always good. read more
