The Chinatown Food Court was there when I moved to Atlanta almost 20 years ago. Back then, when I looked up Chinatown in Atlanta, I came to this little micro-mall before later discovering Buford Highway and that Chinese food was not concentrated into one neighborhood like it is in some cities. This little food court predates all the popular ones in Atlanta such as the Krog Market and Ponce Market. But it's not the sort where you can't find pricey ice cream. I believe it's all Chinese. Today, I wandered in, while waiting for my car to be serviced, and noticed Cold Noodles on China Kitchen's menu. This dish, which I adore at the various Gu's locations, is simple, but requires a fantastic bowl of noodles and chili sauce that hits the spot. China Kitchen's rendition was a good as Gu's, superb!

Tried their beef burrito from a small kiosk. The cashier was very friendly and kind. It was a good size for being around $12. Overall, I liked the flavor of salty with slightly sweet. But I did find it to be a little dry so a bit of soy sauce and vinegar definitely helped. Would come again and enjoy the casual environment.

Great food!!! Quiet atmosphere and sometimes customers are waiting in line, especially after leaving the theater close by. Quick service, friendly atmosphere.

I had ordered a vegetable dry hot pot and asked for vegetarian version. It was nice surprise to have tofu added as they usually do not come with tofu. It was a nice addition along with different medley of vegetables! It also comes with complimentary hot and sour soup which keeps you satiated until the food comes out. The service fast and came out within minutes.

HIT OR MISS BUT WHEN IT HITS, IT REALLY HITS! With Chinese food, I'm a taste over ambiance/service kind of girl. The service is decent every time, counter service, straight forward. The ambiance is food court- must I say more? Lol but the food quality and taste can really vary depending on what you order. Prices are all over the place; dishes that reflect $8-9 on the paper menu that they still keep on the counter is actually $12-14 now so be mindful of t Things to get: chili oil wontons, dumplings, steamed fish filet, Chinese burrito. Things to pass on: tea smoked duck, ginger scallion shrimp.

A great value for the portion size along with complimentary soup (either egg drop or vegetable). It's a self serve station along with water on the counter so don't forget either one. I was craving noodles so I ended up getting the spicy ground pork noodle. This was a dry noodle dish with a slight amount of sauce at the bottom. You can ask for less spicy which still has a tinge of spice. There weren't much ground pork but plenty of noodles. China Kitchen is located in Chinatown. Overall a good value for quality and portion. Bring cash if you want to save on a 3.5% credit card fee.

China Kitchen is in the Chinatown Food Court, and it certainly has a very busy menu. It took me a few minutes to look at everything on the menu, and, even after doing that, I still didn't have a clue of what I wanted. It had been a while since I ordered a hot pot anywhere, and that's what I decided to order. Credit cards are accepted, and there is a sign at the counter that states a 3.5% convenience fee will be added. I ordered Beef and Vegetable Hot Pot, at a medium spice level. In hindsight, I really should've ordered mild, because while I was eating medium spicy, my sinuses drained, my tongue went numb, and (in my mind) even the plain, steamed white rice tasted spicy! Nonetheless, my hot pot was served less than 5 minutes after I ordered it, and the employee brought the food in a wok, placed it on a stand on my table and lit a candle in the stand that was used to keep my hot pot hot, like boiling hot, for a while. This delicious hot pot was packed with cuts of tender beef, slices of zucchini, tofu, cabbage, chopped up cilantro, and glass noodles. I suggest that anyone getting any of the hot pots stir everything before eating so you can have a great mix of ingredients throughout your meal. I was offered steamed white rice, hot tea and water, all unlimited and available at the counter. At the end of the meal, leave everything there and someone will come by to clean everything up. In addition to a very filling meal, which easily could've been shared, quick, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable service is what I got here. I will definitely return for future meals at China Kitchen. If hot pots are not your thing, China Kitchen also serves up dim sum and vegetable dishes. There are many Chinese dishes on the menu that give you options of having beef, lamb, pork, chicken, seafood or vegetables in it.

Definitely a great spot to enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine. We have a lot of dishes a try & I must say they were all DELICIOUS‼ The eggplant with brown sauce was one of my fav dishes. The flavoring is so good that you'll forget you're eating a vegetable. The salt & pepper fish was also a fav of mine with the beef hot pot . We also had Szechuan chicken and a few other dishes, but my all time FAV was the garlic chicken. Chunks of chicken covered in this delectable brown garlic sauce . I'll definitely be back because my friend recommends we try their Chinese beef burrito .

This place was not 4 stars. Unfortunately i didn't have a good experience here. I was ignored by the people when I had a question about where to pick my food up. The food smelled great, but my sesame chicken was very soggy and some pieces were cold. My "egg roll" that I asked for was a spring roll. I personally do not like spring rolls so I was pretty sat about that. The rice was the good part, but overall I was not satisfied.

Seriously...the BEST. No doubt we will be back. Chinese Burrito is like eating pho in burrito form. Soup dumplings with the black vinegar at the counter perfect. Also pictured are the sesame balls, scallion pancake and house fried rice! To drink we shared a mixed fruit juice the friendly man at the counter recommended! 10/10 Taking a walk through the garden after lunch was the best ending to a delicious lunch!

Pre-COVID, we had only eaten here 1-2 times over several years, usually when we just wanted to try something different in the Chinatown food court. During the 1st year of COVID, we ordered here at least once a week for pickup. Excellent food. Very reasonable prices. Family run business. QUICK TIP: Listen carefully when they repeat your order. I've had items missing and once heard the wife explain to the husband in Chinese that she didn't understand what I had ordered over the phone. Rather than ask me to repeat, she just left it off. So pay attention when they're repeating your order. ANOTHER QUICK TIP: They use BeyondMenu for online orders. I prefer to order online to avoid any confusion in phone orders (see above). However, BeyondMenu does not list all available menu items. One example is the scallion pancake appetizer. It's on the menu board and printed menu but is missing from the online ordering menu. TOP FOOD PICKS: Spicy Master Dumping (must have), Scallion cake, Shanghai Soup Pork Dim Sum, Beef Chinese Burrito, Salt Pepper Squid, Spicy Ground Pork Noodle.

Come here all the time. Family owned and operated, delicious food, fast friendly service. Food court atmosphere, but worth the experience. You will be back!

    Scallion Pancake
    Laura D.

Stopped by here in Chinatown food court and decided to try their scallion pancake. Since I only got the one item, I don't really have the full picture of the food here, but the scallion pancake was...not bad, but not really great either. The texture was chewy but not as chewy as the ones at Dim Sum Heaven. While it also wasn't quite as greasy as Dim Sum Heaven ones, it was...pretty greasy. The taste was good but not mind blowing. I do want to come back and try some other items and give it a second chance at some point, but as for scallion pancakes, I would recommend going elsewhere - even just next door to New Lanzhou Noodle; they have some there and they're pretty good.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!

It was busy inside, but our party of 10 was promptly seated, though we were a little squished into a circular table. I didn't remember this last time, but instead of telling a server what you want, you mark it down on a paper menu and hand it to the server. This time I got the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodles and the Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Garlic Noodle. I was really excited to try both since they both sounded so good. Ultimately the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodle was a little underwhelming - the noodles themselves weren't very flavorful, and the BBQ pork was on the drier side. The pork did have decent flavor, and all the toppings/side items (wontons, fried egg, bok choy) were great, but all in all fell a little short of my hopes. The Salted Egg Yolk Garlic Noodles had better flavor, but I could've used even more garlic and butter. The shrimp definitely carried the salted egg yolk flavor, but the fried batter was a bit soggy/soft in my opinion. I wished it was crisper. Service was a tad slow, but perhaps they're understaffed and/or it was busy that night. She made a rich golden chicken noodle soup and sealed in the flavor, heat, and aroma with a layer of chicken oil; and packed the other ingredients separately so that her husband could have a fresh meal as he studied. This dish and style of preparation/presentation eventually became known as Crossing-the-Bridge noodles and is categorized as an intangible cultural heritage for the region. Similar to hot pot, you're supposed to cook the individual ingredients in the hot broth when it all comes out; however, the pot isn't constantly cooking and it should all go in when it arrives at the table. The original broth is really flavorful, while remaining delicate and hearty, and all the various components go well together. The only thing is that the broth does cool down relatively quickly once you start putting in all the other ingredients, so some things weren't as hot as I would've liked. But, overall, I enjoyed my experience! Service was wonderful and there's always parking in this plaza.

I was watching a TikTok video about some actual street foods from Bangkok that were "must tries"…read more Khao Soi was number 1 on the list and when I searched up a restaurant near me with that dish, Bangkok Street Food came up first and closest- plus there were only three that came up at all. I had us split a bowl of their Khao Soi and they were very accommodating with letting us use some smaller bowls to portion it out amongst ourselves. The soup was rich, creamy, coconutty, sweet, savory, and reminiscent of Japanese curry. It was like a fusion of Japanese and Thai curry. It was really delicious. The veggies were still crunchy cut and fresh. The fried noodles were in a ball, so they were difficult to portion, but I managed. The noodles in the soup were great- good springy texture and had soaked up some flavor from the curry soup. They also had 2 chicken legs in there. They had been cooked in the soup, so the meat was pretty tender and I was able to pull them apart with a spoon and chopsticks. The chicken skin was kinda "meh", but it wasn't chewy, so that was fine. There was still plenty of cartilage and stuff left on the chicken legs, so it had to have been cooked at a medium to high temperate rather than low and slow. I think that they could improve on the dish if they cooked those legs slow and low enough to completely render all the cartilage, but that's my personal take. Traditionally, you leave the bones in and cook it as they did. It was really delicious. We also had the chicken karaage with sesame dressing and salad greens- we ordered three of those! SO tender and juicy on the inside while staying nice and crispy outside. They drizzled them with teriyaki sauce, which I could've done without, and served them with a cup of spicy mayo. These were easily the best thing we had. We also got an order of takoyaki and an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were nice and flaky and the takoyaki were piping hot inside with a couple of springy pieces of tako (octopus) inside. Both were good, but not amazing or anything. After having these, we ordered some Thai teas- 2 regular and one lime. The regulars were on point as usual. The lime Thai tea was refreshing and a nice balance of lime and sweet tea. We also ordered some dishes to go: the Thai basil chicken, a beef namtok, an order of drunken man noodles with beef, and an order of spicy pork noodle soup. The beef namtok didn't come with any rice, so I was a little disappointed with that, but I believe it's meant to have the beef wrapped in the cabbage leaf and eaten as is. It was definitely more expensive than it should be at $18.95. The drunken man noodles was a nice portion and the flavor was as expected. The Thai basil chicken came with jasmine rice and was the best portion AND price at $14.95. The spicy pork noodle soup was good and spicy, but it was heavy on the fish sauce, which made the aroma unpleasant. I wouldn't order that again. Overall, everything was really good and the place was decorated nicely. It's a small place, but they've got plenty of comfortable seating for about 5 groups. Definitely a place to add to your list of Thai "go-to's". Give them a shot!

There were about 10 other guests dining it's a smaller space that can probably accommodate around 20ish people, which gives it a more cozy and intimate feel. I ordered the shrimp tom yum and papaya salad and both were delicious. The papaya salad was especially on point... perfectly balanced, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really taste the authenticity in the food. Even a neighboring guest mentioned to the waiter that it tasted just like food from Thailand, which says a lot. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this spot if you're craving real, authentic Thai food.

New Lan Zhou Noodle is one of the restaurants in the China Town food court. It's pretty popular due to their freshly made daily pulled noodles. Pre-pandemic, you used to be able to see them do it behind a glass screen. Now, you cannot see the back kitchen. Hubby and I ordered a noodle dish each (him was Seafood and mines were Short Ribs) along with their soup dumplings (that they're known for) and Twisted Cruellers. Food took very long to make, but it's understandeable. Bowls were very big and full. Meats looks good, but the white broth did not look good at all. We took a spoonful of broth to start off with without adding any condiments and OMG...no flavor at all! We were thoroughly disappointed. The meats part were good and tender (though again, no flavor), but most disappointing was that even with condiments, the broth was bland. We kept on saying to each other that we will not order from here again. The noodles were just okay. Nothing earth shattering about it. Twisted cruellers tasted like it was just heated from a frozen one. I didn't get to taste the soup dumplings because we were running late for appt since the foods took so long and had to pack it to-go. I can't really comment on that. I will not order from here again and would like to try the surrounding stalls around it.
